I took my car to my local AAMCO back in February and was told at the time that I needed to replace an ignition coil and the spark plugs, and have my fuel injector cleaned. $500 later, I drove away and my car was running fine. 2 weeks ago, my car starts doing the exact thing. I took it to a different shop, and was told the exact same repairs were needed. I called AAMCO, and found out that they were under new management, but the part were under warranty so I should bring it in. I dropped it off on a Friday evening and was told it should be fixed on Monday. Monday came and went. Tuesday came and went. I called on Wednesday, and was told the tech who was handling my repair was out on a family emergency. Okayyyyy, so why wasnt another tech working on it? At what point was ANYONE going to call me? I guy I spoke with had to do some checking and would call me back. He called back in 20 minutes, and told me essentially that it was just a bad ignition coil, but not the one that had been replaced in February. He said my spark plugs were fine, but I needed a new gasket cover. Amazing that they figured all that out in 20 minutes. He quoted me $725 for the repairs, saying he would only charge me for 1 1/2 hours of labor. Great. Fine. Do it. Wednesday comes and goes with no phone call. I call back Thursday afternoon, get a different guy who gives me the same story. He tells me, you can pick it up, but your ignition coil needs to be replaced. I tell him, I gave authorization the previous day to make the repairs and to replace all 3 ignition coils that hadnt been replaced yet. I told him what I was quoted. He said he would call me back by 5 PM. Guess what? Right, no phone call. I called Friday during my lunch break and got no answer and had to leave a message. I called my mom, who was going by the shop to drop off my payment for the repairs and get my key. I had to tell her not to give them the money unless my car was fixed. When she got there (around 1 pm), it was in the bay being worked on. She had to wait 2 hours before it was ready. I picked up the key from my mom after I got off of work, but couldnt actually go get my car until about 11:30 PM. When I get to the shop, my friend gets in my car and drives it to my house (which is about 5 minutes away). When we get home, she tells me that my windows had been opened 2-3 inches each and that the seats were damp. It had POURED rain earlier in the evening, and this being Florida, rained every day after. I couldnt leave my windows open for it to dry out because you never know when its going to rain, so it only took a few hours before my car started to smell like mildew. I called the shop to complain, and of course, no one answered or returned my call. I will never take my car there again, and I am telling everyone I know that the "New Management" has no idea what theyre doing. And yes, I waited 2 weeks to write this review because I had to calm down. I was so angry, every previous attempt to write this was filled with expletives and I wanted people to read this and take it seriously. After reading their response to previous bad reviews, I guess I shouldnt be surprised. Anyone who bad mouths or blames previous staff has no idea what good customer service is about.

Unfortunately I found my myself stranded with a dead alternator in a rural part of Davenport. My nearest option according to my Towing provider was this AAMCO. When I initially spoke to them they wanted to charge me nearly $900 for an alternator, belt and Battery. After speaking with them I told them I had the battery tested last month and the $198 they wanted to charge me for a Walmart Level Battery was outrageous. I then said I would got to a Sears and purchase a Die Hard Battery as I have had great success with that battery. They guy on the phone tells me Sears Sucks and I replied by saying your profit margin on this battery is out of control. His reply there is nothing wrong with a profit, The conversation went on to what we can do for the ridiculous $686 they wanted to charge me for a alternator, belt & labor. Mind you this is a 2007 Mazda B2300 (Ford Ranger Clone). The parts are cheap for this vehicle. The guy said this is our price. I got stranded so they are taking advantage of the situation and I am thinking I will pay the bill and will never step foot into an AAMCO again in my life. When I arrive to pick up my car 2 days later the guy behind the desk tells me we tried to charge the battery not sure if it will start. I jump start the car (There was no offer of help as these people were visibly pissed off I did not purchase a battery from them) and the car starts no problem, Matter of fact there is never ever a problem starting the car again, They purposely killed the battery trying to make a sale, You ask how do I know this? I went to Sears and purchased a battery. When they tested the old battery it was in fine working condition. I bought a Die Hard on the way home as I travel on average 800 to 900 miles a week for work and I wanted the peace of mind knowing I would not have a battery issue far from home, If you break down in that area there is a Pep Boys two doors down, I would highly recommend taking your car there, These people are rip off artists, They purposely drained my perfectly good running battery to try and sell me a battery. I will never do business with AAMCO ever again.

If I could give him less than 1 star I would. I took my Jeep there because of my air conditioning wasnt cooling properly, so I didnt want to drive in to the construction 1 line to Clermont to the air-conditioning specialist. So I stop there and ask and they told me that it was just low on Freon, they charge the car and charge me 144.00 and I noticed that it took just about 15 min, so I ask Bob if they check for leaks and he told me that they did and I was ready to go. I left and the next day the air was not even blowing cool air, so I went back, they told me that it was a seal by the clutch and that it was going to be around 20.00. I told them to go ahead and put the seal. I came back got my car and left after they told me that NOW it was fix and good to go. He didnt charge me for the seal, but the next day, the same crap. I came back and they check the car again and they told me that it was the front seal from the compressor this time? Really? They told me that it was going to be around 697.00 approximately. He didnt want to give me money back, what a scrubs, they have no clue, why? Because I took it to Yokleys ACDelcoin Clermont by the citrus tower and they immediately found the problem, it was the main house that was all perforate and the Freon was leaking big time trough that. How the house is going to have 12 little punctures on it when the air was working fine before? I dont know, but Im glad Yokleys ACDelco found my problem and fix it. My car is working fine now and I got air conditioning. Can you imagine this people experimenting with my car? What if I put a new compressor like they said, and a new dryer etc? They would have change that and I would have pay 700.00 for nothing because that was not even my problem. Please do yourself a favor and if you need a good mechanic, find one like I did. I called the corporation and I will call them again and tell them what the problem was, because the lady at corp. office asked me to call he if I get new info. Get ready Bob, you guys are a failure.
