Brought my car to ShiftRight in Dunedin for a transmission fluid exchange (big mistake). I realized my trans was leaking after the service. Didn’t trust them and brought car to dealer for diagnosis. Damaged pan/plug. Needed replacement – around $800. I called shiftRight to see what they would charge to replace the pan (without blaming them for the problem) – owner was difficult on the phone, said he didn’t trust the Lexus dealer (who has always done superb work for me in the past, just very expensive) and wouldn’t give me any idea of the cost without seeing the car. I never called back. I remembered a friend had recommended National Auto Service to another friend and never heard anything bad about the place. I had them order and install a new pan. Cost was about ½ the dealer. They were very polite and professional. Did it in ½ the time expected and gave me an additional break on the costs. Unfortunate I still had the leak. They were great about it and said, “Bring it in at your convenience, we will check it out” Brought it in early the next day. Despite a bunch of cars in front of me, they brought it right in, re-seated the pan screw and stopped the leak. It’s easy to be nice and polite when things go well, it’s how they handle it when things don’t go well that shows a lot more of the character of a person or business. They have gained my trust and me as a client.

DO NOT GO HERE. Took my car in for 1.My terminals to be replaced and cleaned, and 2. My turbo hose replaced and fixed so that the boost in my car would be fixed (boost leak). Well 1. The terminals were not replaced and even though they were cleaned the bolts were so loose I tightened them with my fingers until they were decent enough to get home and tighten them with tools. Then, 2. They told me that it would be $4,000 to fix my turbo because it was broken and done for. Well I knew my turbo wasnt broke and just needed fixed and took it to MIKES DEALER ALTERNATIVE (Dunedin still) for a second look and they fixed my car for $30.00. I also got a call that my bolts were loose on my engine my total came out to be $350.00 and got literally nothing I wanted fixed... So if you actually read these reviews I would NOT go to this place, and wish I would have known beforehand. Your welcome.

This place is the worst. You will have a better and cheaper time if you literally light you and your car on fire. The customer service and phone etiquette is awful, the workmanship is awful, the wait for service is awful, wherever they get parts from is awful, their diagnoses are wrong. I would rather take my car to a circus and have a bunch of clowns fix my car or just get a new one than have to deal with these incompetent people ever again. Heck, Id rather get a root canal with no anesthesia and my toenails ripped out than have to deal with these disrespectful, uneducated chauvinistic dudes ever again. Unfortunately I did have to bc the part they installed for 600 dollars and was under warranty, broke 6 months later. Shocker. Dont go here, youll get better service at the gates of hell.

We have been going to this mechanic for years and trust them. They never have tried to sell us something we didnt need or talk down to us about what is going on. However, what prompted me to write a review was when they made a mistake. They accidentally did something minor (spark plug issue) and we noticed a strange noise afterwards. Long story short, they fixed the problem for free and apologized sincerely for the inconvenience. That may seem like no big deal, but how many times does ANYONE do that these days? Its one thing to have great customer service when everything goes right. Its another level of customer care when things go wrong and you still do the right thing. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I have brought a number of my cars here for myself and my kids over the 4 years we have been in the area. They have always been honest and have done excellent work (knock on wood!). I have also had them tell me when nothing was wrong and didnt need work to be done, free of charge. I have done brakes, tires, belts, timing belt, water pump, radiator, and other things on the following vehicles: Rav4, Tucson, Elantra, Veracruz, Spectra, Scion.

SCAMMERS. I took my car there for a $19.99 oil change. They told me that I needed all synthetic oil which cost $49.99. I asked why and the "friendly" desk man said that his computer had that my Nissan required synthetic oil only, and he would not put anything else in my car. When I got home I called the dealer who told me that my car did not need the all synthetic oil. I was scammed by a dishonest service center!

best auto repair shop in tampa bay been going to dave for over 8 years always honest fair price great work ive asked to have work done on my car dave says you dont need that work done ,but he will tell you what needs to be done in future very friendly crew God bless you all.even though I dont live in dunedin anymore i still will only go to daves nasc.

Every time I go there, its at least $400. I thought it was a good place but they always find something to cost more. They changed my oil without asking me and charged me. Bad business. They are good, but a rip off. Im new to the area, its AAA approved, and thought they could be trusted. Next time Im going to Mikes, even Bobbys a rip off.

Great customer service and a wonderful bunch of honest employees. Once I brought my car in for just a trip check-up and they charged me nothing! Said I didnt need a thing. Who does that anymore?? My husband and I will never use anyone else. They have earned our trust over the years 100%

Great service. Needed a tire after clipping a corner with a granite curb. They ordered it in and had it the next morning. . Replacement took about 15-20 mins. Best price we found for it in the area too! Super nice people.
