I Will NEVER use this place again I took my car to ShiftRite (isnt the correct word right?) after seeing their sign in front of their shop - $99.50 for transmission fluid exchange After I dropped off the car, and was waiting for my ride to pick me up... I talked a bit with the desk guy. I asked how often trans fluid should be changed. His answer was, “manufacturer suggests every 100,000 miles, we recommend every year in the fl heat” Hmmmmm – seemed odd to me As I got in my friend’s car (who just pulled up to get me) my friend pointed out a van sitting in the lot… engine pulled, chained to (and hanging on) a 4x4 that was literally resting on the corner panels on each side of the engine compartment … and I pointed out the mechanic sitting on the curb with a small hatchet… working on some tree roots??? holly Sonford and son – I should got back in my car and left… wish I did A few hours later I returned to get the car. The guy at the desk said it was $125 – I asked why non $99.50 – his answer “ that’s an old price, don’t know why the owner doesn’t change it” ??? I thought this was all odd but wasnt too upset, this is still a lot cheaper than the dealer costs, and most other places. I said ok and payed . 10 minutes after leaving I get a call from the shop asking me to return, they gave me the wrong receipt. I said I couldn’t return before they close at 1 but would swing by Monday. When I went home I checked my trans fluid levels. It was noticeably low. On Monday I went back to swap receipts and asked the owner “Randy” to check the levels. He sent out a guy from the garage who said it was fine. I asked “why do you say it’s fine, it’s an inch below the dipstick mark and obviously low”? He seemed unhappy with my response and said ,“Fine I’ll add more...” – I went and got Randy. Randy explained it was better to be low than high and spilling out all over the place ???? None of this sounded right to me but i dont know anything about transmissions. I then asked Randy why I wasn’t charged the $99.50 like the sign said, and he got defensive and loud. He started to huff and puff over the fact that I had Synthetic fluid and was undercharged…. And started to yell for the mechanic to tell come over and confirm to me it was synthetic. I wasn’t gonna go any further. I left. I now have a leaky transmission. I have fluid all over my garage and driveway. $450 – 700 to get the pan replaced because there is some damage causing it to leak This never happened before I went to ShiftWrong. Buyer beware - this place is shaddy, and so is Randy and I will listen to my gut feelings next time run away, dont walk

Since there is no option of leaving no star, I am giving one, but that is generous! Took my car there for slipping transmission, did not think to call around other places...weve lived in area for 25 years and know this outfit has been at that location for a long time....that was our mistake. The car was never fixed right and we paid $2,400 for replacing torque converter. At one time Shiftrite had our car for over 2 weeks (we took it back since repairs have a one year/12,000 miles warranty) and got all kind of explanations, but mainly that all troubles were due to electrical shorts and that was not covered by warranty. Car was jerking so badly from 3rd to 2nd that it startled me and spilled drinks and would not move when in "reverse" or "drive". To make a long story short, after 3 months of getting nowhere, finally took it to dealership. They diagnosed internal failure and installed a BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION - total cost of $2,700.00!! (versus 2,400 to install a torque converter!!). My request for some kind of refund are of course being ignored! Stay away from Randy Fisher and ShiftRite is my advice

If I could leave the less than 1 star I would. randy is a crook and a thief when our car broke down we called him because his website said free estimates, he said sure bring it on up Ill look at it for you! He called stating it would be 1895 to repair the truck and then proceeded to try to convince us to put 1875 into a truck thats only worth 3000. We declined and when we showed up with a tow truck to take it home he demanded $275 plus tax to release the vehicle stating his men had three to four hours into diagnosing it. After hearing this news I did some research (with you all should too ) hes a scam artist he will break something in your car that will slowly break down the line so that you have to bring it back. the warranties he offers dont really cover anything. Its too bad that people take advantage of you when youre in such a vulnerable situation. Please people do your research before you decide on where to bring your car truck

If I could give none I would.. terrible experience! ! Run away from this place... sadly I spend thousand of dollars there.... and keep taking my car because my dad keep saying my car was 2004 and was asking for new parts. But my car had never given so many issues.... he would "fix" something and when was taking back because of same problem it would result in something else and it would be more than 600 bucks always the "fixed".. couple of time he would treat me like a liar whe questions where asked.. when asked for receives of parts he will say no cause he is buying them cheaper. Guy is a joke and very nasty when u question him and ask for money back... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.. they say they fixed ur car but it will keep giving problems and its always something new its a SCAM...this place should be investigated!

Caution! When I brought my car in for some work Randy gave me a “Fair” price on replacing some parts before they went bad. He decided to look at my Transmission fluid and suggested that we change it to be on the safe side. I trusted him and gave him the okay on the oil change. Now the trans is shifting hard and out of sequence. When we took it back he said the pressure in the trans has now changed and it will cost us $375 Just to look at it and an estimate of $900 to fix it. Ya, he offered us $50 off since we just got done paying him $600 for belts and radiator flush. Beware! This is an old scam from way back. As I was driving out of his lot another customer stopped and told me the same kind of thing happened to them. CAUTION!

Fantastic Service! My beautiful 2011 Mazda HB was experiencing transmission issues. The RPMs randomly revved up while driving, the switching of gears felt very sluggish and the ATL light came on. I brought my car to Shift Rite Transmission & Auto Service in Dunedin after being told by a local mechanic that I needed a new transmission or a new car. Shift Rite ran diagnostic testing and the results were received the same day. A few new parts were all that was needed. The service was completed on time and the price was just as we had discussed. It’s been 3 months since I’ve had the repair done and my Mazda is running great! I’m so happy I went to Shift Rite for a second opinion. Thank you for saving me thousands!
