Natiowide Van Lines, is - hands down - the WORST one I have ever worked with. Things started out great. I spoke with Suzanna who gave me a too-good-to-be-true quote, professed their honorable business values, and professed that they knew my new move-in area well enough to wrangle Miamis complicated move-in/move-out regulations with ease. However, in the days leading up to the move, I received several phone calls that raised the bright red flag of doubt: 1. The company would be tacking on an additional $500 (in addition to the original $300 I already agreed to in my quote) to move the piano. 2. Despite having told them I could not, under any circumstances move into my new apartment until the first of the month, they said they would be delivering on the 25th... of the previous month. Five days early. Considering I had clearly expressed that my lease would not begin until the 1st, it felt like a ploy to very conveniently rake in another $900 (the fee to "unload and reload" your items should you not be able to receive your items in accordance with their delivery schedule. And 3. The movers would be arriving a full day later than I had originally anticipated to pack my furniture and pick up my boxes. Then move out day arrived. And things went WAY downhill. The foremen tried to tack on another $150 here for a long haul (despite the fact that they only had one hallway to walk down). And another $200 there because they didnt know my end tables had stone tops (a nuance which they conveniently did not include as an option on the initial estimate sheet or in discussions with the quote "expert"). And you shouldnt be surprised to learn that there was no "special piano expert" in toe. The foreman was extremely rude to my father, pugnacious with me, and generally difficult to deal with. Fast forward to delivery day. In a twist of cruel fate, my buildings service elevator was out of service for a grueling seven hours. To help ease the situation, my building outfitted the foremen with a trolley cart and said they could unload the big items (couch, piano, etc.) in the loading garage, and then wheel the small items (boxes, small chairs, desk, etc.) up through the main lobby. Instead, the head foreman took this opportunity to smoke cigarettes in my lawn, nap, and complain about the situation. He wouldnt even open the doors of the truck unless the elevator was working and insisted that the remainder of the move be paid in FULL (in CASH) before he even touched a box. Another red flag so there would be no recourse if (and in this case WHEN) damage occurred. The movers left my apartment an utter disaster. My side chairs were thrown on top of my couch. There was padding everywhere (which they refused to take out). They had badly chipped my desk (which they packed) and broken the leg off my wet bar (which they also packed). But most disappointingly, they had broken the pianos pedals and the last three keys on the keyboard were not working. Before I could even give the foremen a tip they slammed the door and stormed out. When the moving company reached out for a review, I frankly told them about the situation and the customer serviced representative began with a sympathetic promise to get the issue resolved. After two hours of phone calls, he agreed to send $300 to cover the cost of the piano fix (quoted at $150) and any additional damage the tuner found while fixing the keys. It also felt a bit like hush money since I had threatend to tell the world about this experience and encourage my family not to use them for their own move. Two weeks went by, then three ... and I had received zero updates about the compensation. When I reached out, they had yet another convoluted, circumvent, rambling set of excuses to explain why they didnt intend to send me any damages after all. Im not at all surprised considering every interaction with Nationwide has been fraught with double standards and financial shadiness. Par for the course at this point.

My fiance and I were moving from Florida to Virginia and had a pretty tight deadline. We wanted a company that used their own trucks and crew (no subcontractors!) and Nationwide Van Lines was one of the best rated we could find. Since this was my first interstate move, a prompt response was ideal and Chris delivered on that; he called me nearly first thing in the morning and worked with me on some changes that needed to be made and got me an updated quote within minutes. He explained everything I needed to know about the company, and everything he said lined up with the research I had done. After signing on, Manny called me a few days later to follow up and give me an update and to give me more of the logistics side of things. He did a great job of translating the promises made with Chris into more solid details, which was much appreciated. He also worked with me on getting our furniture picked up a day later since it was peak moving season, but he assured me that our accommodation of their schedule would not eat into our delivery window. Since that gave us an extra day to pack, we were happy to oblige and Manny made good on his word. The best part of our experience with Nationwide, though, was with Lizandro and his moving crew. They were prompt and managed to get the truck into very small roads in both our old apartment complex and our new one. Despite the rain, they got organized and started getting everything loaded up in good time; they even carefully disassembled some of our furniture to make sure it didnt get damaged in transit. Their use of packing materials and blankets made it obvious that they were pros and were committed to taking care of our stuff. Their timing with the delivery was also perfect, and they were accommodating in getting some of our larger furniture into their proper rooms before they left our new place! I paid using a corporate card, and although I had to call that in, it was a mostly-painless process. Ricks follow up call after the move was also much appreciated, and he made sure that we were taken care of. He listened to and addressed some of my concerns regarding the length of the original delivery window that we given, and seemed to take the feedback to heart. Overall, I would recommend Nationwide Van Lines to anyone doing an interstate move; the fact that I felt like our moving crew actually cared about our furniture and getting the job done right took away a lot of the usual stress associated with a long move. Go with Lizandro and his crew if you get the choice, they did an awesome job!

After my mothers death, I had to move her beloved piano to family in Maryland. It was an emotional situation, but from my initial contact with Racheal Skolnik, the Nationwide consultant, I knew I selected the right movers. She ensured me that they would handle it all and make it an easy moving experience and it was. They were available to schedule the move as soon as I wanted. I was called from the truck of Uzi, the driver, with notification of what time to expect him to pick up the piano and he was right on time. Uzi and another man put the piano on its side and began to wrap it up. I was shocked that they were able to put it on a dolly and get it on the elevator, but they did. The process was done with such ease. You could tell this is something they are very familiar with and I was so relieved at their expertise. Within 2 days, I was called to say the piano was being delivered the next morning and they were contacting me and my family in Maryland. Sure enough the next day my family called to say the piano had arrived with the same men. She said they were were kind, courteous and professional and were in and out before they knew it. I loved the idea of the same drivers door to door and no other trucks being involved. Moving a piano can be an arduous task to research as I learned the hard way. So many other movers would dissassemble the legs, or keyboard it where they remove the front keys and I would NEVER want that. This piano was a part of our family for 50 years and it was vital it be treated with care and it was. I would recommend Nationwide to anyone who wants their property safely transported by a staff who obviously value their customers. Gideon and Manny were hands on calling or emailing with updates and notifying us when to expect pick up and delivery. Now another generation of my family is enjoying my Mothers piano and I thank Nationwide for helping me make that happen!
