I had a week of "use it or lose it" annual leave I needed to take before the end of June, I had no one to travel with me, and had a week to plan my trip. I didnt want the hassle of Miami (feeling like I need to put on full make up, dress up to the nines, and be completely turned out daily), but I wanted heat, sun, sand, and well above average service. I decided to give The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale a try....and I was THRILLED that I did. While you typically cant beat the service and attention to detail from a Ritz-Carlton, I have sadly been less than thrilled at certain properties. That was not the case here. With the exception of the poolside service, which was still awesome (I just wish I had been extended the same level as the rest of the guests and not had to get up and walk to the bar to ask for water, a drink, lunch, etc) I could not have felt more taken care of, relaxed and happy! I was here for a week by myself (a single woman in her thirties NOT looking for attention but happy to chat with a stranger) and did not want to leave. The front desk staff were extremely helpful, the bartenders and staff at the coffee bar at the market did not get annoyed with my million daily questions (some of which I repeated), housekeeping was phenomenal...overall it was a great stay and I would recommend this property to anyone looking to get away. The town is more relaxed than Miami but that does not come as a sacrifice to the level of service, In fact, Id say the serve here was better than that of the last time I was in South Beach (at the Ritz-Carlton). P.S. - The beds are PHENOMINAL!!

One thing I will say for this hotel, it has achieved incredible consistency in all its service areas : they are ALL consistently horrible ! We made reservations for the Ft Lauderdale unit more than a month ago. Reservation was accepted and confirmed. We showed up at the hotel at 3:15 PM on the indicated day, only to find that the room was not available. The receptionist ( dirty uniform and a breath that forced me to move back a couple of steps) was unhelpful and rude, kept repeating that "there was nothing he could do". He also refused to call the shift manager. I asked hotel secutirity to call the manager, which they did. The lady ( who did not give us her name ) was inattentive, indiferent and also rude. Same explanation : nothing she could do. After much complaining ( and waiting ) we finally got a room, but our problems had just started. Mid afternoon we ordered a couple of drinks from room service. They showed up almost an hour late. At night we placed another order to room service. We waited for long more than an hour and it never showed up, so we called to cancel the order and went to the restaurant. When we came back the order was in our room. I complained that the cost of it was in my bill but to no avail. Not to mention the rudeness at the restaurant and other parts of the hotel. And this is one of the most expensive places in Ft Lauderdale ? Pitty for such a beautiful hotel. Obviously it has a rotten manager. By the way, avoid ocean view rooms . . . unless you like a permanent-all-hours frying fish odor. Never again.

A wonderful surprise! Yesterday, 12/3/16, I was attending Candela laser workshop at the Ritz-Carlton, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. We were served breakfast, lunch and a cocktail at the end. After lunch, I noticed there were desserts on the table, but failed to serve my self and went back to the work shop. At the end alcoholic beverages and hors doeuvres were served, but I was more interested in coffee and dessert. I approached two banquet managers, a nice lady and gentleman who informed desserts were not being served at the time, only after lunch. I am normally not a fan of sweets, besides once a month (ladies will understand me), and being that time of the month, I confess I was a little disappointed. About 10/15 minutes later, I was already in a different room distracted with something else when I was approached by the same nice gentleman manager, with a little tray of delicious dessert, and a smile. He said he was looking for me so I could have some dessert!!!!! It was so very nice of him/them to get out of their way, to fix me a plate and chase me down. I was so happy, for the dessert on the plate, yes, but even more for his gesture, prompt service and care. Gratitude is the word for that nice gentleman!!!!! GREAT GREAT GREAT SERVICE. Everything else was impeccable as well. I hope they read this and know that they made someones day!

1:00 pm Sunday 9/8/13. Couldnt get hotel to answer phone, gave up after 15 rings. 1:15 pm Sunday called hotel again, answered after 1 ring, asked for dining room to make reservation & see if there is a dress code for dinner. No answer, got a recording stating when it is open (yes, it is open Sundays at 1:15 for a $65.00!!! brunch). The recording suggested I leave a message. Didnt leave a message, decided its too much trouble for a 3rd call. Dont consider this to be 5 star service or worth $300/night....off-season. I guess it is off-season for service too. Checked menu prices on line....all prices are outrageous and a la carte to boot. Thanks Ritz Carlton, the poor phone service just saved me a bundle. Lets see if the Atlantic or the Hilton answer phones.

This hotel was great. From the start the front desk was very accommodating so were the bellmen, house keepers and most of the staff. The only area for improvement would be the pool staff. The hotel was not very crowded and you had to wait very long for a towel or for a chair to be cleaned off after someone left the pool area. One day we couldnt get a towel for over 30 minutes. The wait staff was hit or miss with some of the waitresses being great and others who seemed as though they couldnt be bothered. Management should definitely look into the overall attitude of the pool staff. Again, other then that the hotel is 5 star. Oh yea, i would suggest adding coffee makers to the rooms as in other Ritz properties. Overall a great time and i would return.

This property is beautiful and has a stunning view of the ocean and Fort Lauderdale. The staff are exceptionally good at what they do. My first visit was July 2010, and have visited the property ~9 times yearly since. I have limited spare time and a high standard, and Im not an easy sell. The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale was my first Ritz experience and won my heart. I am now a Ritz-Girl :). This property is my home away from home. The people have touched my life and I miss them when Im not there. They are very well-trained and execute their work with joy and I appreciate it. I intend to be their biggest fan. I love being appreciated and these people do it well. I am always eager to return. Somehow, each new visit is more fun than the last.

So I live in Coral Springs, about 30 minutes away from Fort Lauderdale Beach. I was dieing to go on vacation to a tropical island beach paradise, after researching several travel fees to some of the islands I was looking at in the Pacific, I began to look a little closer to home in the Carrbian. Once again I felt I could do better. I started looking for hotels on Floridas Beach and with all the money I was saving on travel I decided to go all out at one of the most predominant hotel resorts in the area, The Ritz Carlton! Amazing, to say the least. Wonderful people in a wonderful location. To anybody on vacation to the area look no further! I dont think I could have found a location as perfect as this one to have my vacation!
