Normally I never post any reviews, but when something/someone is so terrible I feel it is important to educate future consumers. *This review is strictly towards the carillon spa* To start we were charged before any service which included gratuity and tax. i noted it was unfortunate they had a standard 18% because being a regular at spas my wife/and I leave much more than that to our therapists.... My tour of the facility was great and the only good thing about the entire day (I think the gentlemens name was Emilio and I apologize if that is incorrect, he was an older gentlemen) he explained every single treatment room, sauna, steam room, shower rooms etc wonderfully! He took me to the pool showed me where my wife and I could spend time together before our treatment. When my wife made her way out I was gloating how good Emilio was and she received no tour! No explanation nothing! Emilio apologized, said someone dropped the ball on the womens side and he ushered someone to go explain to my wife what everything was about. We had booked 3 services each for our spa day. Massage, scrub and facial. The massage was great if I had asked for strictly a Head and leg massage...each were massaged for a total of 70 out of 80 minutes. My back was massaged for maybe! 10 minutes (which is strange and must be there protocol because my wifes massage was almost identical)....overall the massage was GARBAGE! My massage chair at home offers better back relief! . The "scrub" was not the scrub we were accustomed to, however based on their description of it, it "sufficed". I told my therapist that my wife was a licensed esthetician, hoping she would really put in the extra effort to ensure the facial was "high end" but that did not happen. Zero extractions were performed. Overall the facial was something I could have done in the bathroom of my own house. Overall the treatments we received I would rate a 2/10 and that is being generous. Being a frequent visitor to "high end" spas I can 100% state this is not one of them. The showers/sauna/steam room were beautiful. The actual treatments performed were extremely subpar. If you are a frequent flyer to spas and know what quality is, DO NOT VISIT THIS LOCATION or you will be disappointed.

My husband and I went for a full "spa day" at the carillon. Booking the appointment was very easy which was great. As soon as we got to the spa, they charged us automatically which I now understand why. The spa itself is beautiful, the workers are just terrible. It was our first time there and no welcome, no tour, nothing. Luckily my husband had asked to speak to me and someone had to come get me from the spa and he was on a grand tour from Emilio who was showing him the ropes. Emilio had explained what to do so I could benefit the most from our $1300+ spa services. He was the only positive in our stay. So we are informed that the same therapist will be with us throughout which I dont find appealing because what about if you are not happy with your therapist, you are stuck with them - and thats exactly what happened. The fact that the therapist can perform 35+ treatments is excellent, but when done so poorly it really is unfortunate. Maybe they should focus their trainings so the therapist can be masters at a few things rather than have many treatments in which they cannot perform effectively. My massage was fair - my chief complaint was my back and she spent a whole 3 minutes on my back for an 80 minute massage. The scrub that I had thought I was getting turned out to be something completely different than explained and my facial - lets not even go there. Being an aesthetician myself and knowing what a spa experience is suppose to be - this definitely was not it. The price is very high end and to have to spend 1300+ on services and the quality to be less than average is disheartening. So overall, the facility is beautiful but the actual services were not. I would not recommend anyone to this spa for treatments.

DONT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOU VACATION. Well furnished, well equipped... but unfortunately the worst management I have ever seen. BE AWARE OF UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES... when I asked for late checkout at 1 pm instead of 12pm they declined the request and send security to escort us out of the room in very rude way to guarantee no overstay. I stayed there 6 days, every time I come back to my suite I found someone inside from the hotel personnel when I ask what is she or he doing in my room they say housekeeping while the room was cleaned by the housekeeping earlier the someday. HOW CAN THEY GO IN & WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR INSIDE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. After leaving the hotel I was shocked of how many charges I have on my credit card all of them were false and unauthorized but the one that really pissed me off is the smoking in the room ($650) and when I called to ask about it they said that one of the guest in the same floor complained about smoking smell and they figured out it was my room because im the only new guest there even though they didnt found any evidence to backup the story. Finally I dont recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to enjoy Miami Beach and appreciate customer service. Of the top ten hotels of the world, Ive had the pleasure of staying at all but one, with Villa Deste being my favorite. When a close friend put me up for a couple nights at Canyon Ranch in Miami, knowing my proclivities for luxury and impecable service, I knew my visit was either going to be a bust or fondly memorable. As my five stars would indicate, it was the latter, and then some. First of all, the view was spectacular, and beautifully framed by the simplicity of widow panes. My room was meticulously appointed with every amenity I could desire, and the beds were Lunesta on steroids - simply the most somnolent I can recall. As to the other facets of my stay, no detail was overlooked and I was thoroughly delighted with every aspect of their service (friendly, if not doting), exsquitely prepared meals (at more than reasonable prices), and ample hotel amenities. The spa was first rate (check out Canyon Ranch Royale), and their fitness facility (of which I used one of their top notch personal trainers, and took a few classes [yogo, agility/balance, and ropes] were superior in every degree. The grounds are flawlessly maintained and the private beach with complimentary cabanas all go together to create a relaxing, carefree experience which have spent ten times as much to enjoy. Last week, when I had to be in Miami for the christening of Oceanias new ship Marina, I chose to once again stay Canyon Ranch.

This is a wonderful hotel-condo building for many reasons not least of which is that it’s located on a quieter stretch of Miami beach for those who want to get away from the business of South Beach – yet it’s a short bus or cab ride away. The staff is wonderful, particularly those working on the beach and the hotel boasts some excellent security features. Did not try the spa but it looked well attended and the Sunday brunch is a must. Stayed in a suite with a kitchen for one month rented from the owner. Important to note that renters should get security access to the entire compound which is more expensive or you will be forced to walk around the block to enter the compound from the front entrance which makes beach access troublesome. If you rent, there is an excellent grocery store right across the road but not much else in the way of shopping. It’s expensive, but competitive with other hotels/condos of this quality.
