Mediacom is probably one of the worst internet providers out there with the worst possible customer service. I have called in DOZENS of times over issues and I have had SIX technicians at my home in the last year and a half. I had a technician in my hom belittle me and tell me that I didnt know what I was talking about when I used a speed tester because I am a woman. I had an agent argue with me over what channel a hockey game was on for over twenty minutes (during NHL playoffs when theyre on CBSSN or NBCSN and NOT NHL network (which Mediacom doesnt have and I understood)). Ive been told at least three times that a senior technician would call me or someone from their senior development team would call me to help my issue and they never do. My last experience was when my internet was going out to the point I called in to cancel, they offered me just internet for $80 and offered to send someone out to fix it. Reasonable price, so I decided to stay. HUGE MISTAKE. They were supposed to send a technician on my only day off that I had before having to go out of town for two weeks to care for an extremely ill relative and the technician doesnt call and never shows up after I was waiting at home ALL DAY LONG for this guy to show up. Called into customer service and it took them over a half an hour to call me back because the lines were so busy. My bill started at $110 a month during the first year, $120 the second and then during the third year it SKYROCKETED up to $180 a month while our internet service was NEVER working. You would think that they would treat loyal customers with more respect, especially those who literally never miss a payment because they are on automatic bill pay. Ive called them out on Twitter and theyve pretended to care. Ive called them acting like a raving lunatic because the service still drops. DO NOT go with Mediacom, go with anyone else but them.

One word description: garbage. I have been with them for 1 year and have never had a problem... until I move from Gulf Breeze, FL to Pensacola, FL, onto the Navy Base there, and the internet is absolute garbage. I have been here for about 8 months now and nearly every single month I have had to call them about slow internet and also talk to them about my bill (I only have internet with them) because I keep getting charged "overages". Apparently cable companies now charge for "data" similar to your cellphone company. So because I have 2 PCs and a TV and my family watches YouTube and NetFlix and such on each of these, my data I am using is over 350GB each month... each time I go over this, I get charged an extra $10. So I decided to up my data to 1 terabit, which also was SUPPOSED to up my speed from 50 MB, to 100MB... well, I just did a speed test and I am STILL getting 15 MB. Awesome... Mediacom is the absolute worse internet company I have ever had. The last appointment I had for them to come out, 30 minutes after my appointment was SUPPOSE to be, my internet started to "work" and I get an email saying my appointment was cancelled without a phone call or anything. The ONLY reason I am giving them 2 stars and not 1 star is because of their customer support people. Every time I have called them, they always answer within 10 min, no matter what time of day, and they are always friendly, even when I am frustrated and am rude sometimes (which I usually end up apologizing for by the time the call is over). Their people there are very friendly and so are their technicians. Their internet is just absolute garbage. I would of changed companies, but I can not, because on base here they have a contract and you can only get Mediacom here, nobody else.

Called Mediacom back in August 2015 to upgrade my internet from 15Mbps to 50Mbps. The person that I was talking to on the phone told me that there was a promotion that I could get 50Mbps at the same price for a year. After the year is up my bill would then go up $5 more so I was like sounds good to me sign me up. They sent out a service man and he installed the modem and made sure everything was working and the I was getting 50Mbps. Everything was working good for months still was getting 45-48Mbps. Then all of sudden in Feb. 2016 speed went back down to my previous speed of 15Mbps. I called twice and sent numerous emails to support. The first call I was told that my modem wont do more than 15Mbps (lie). He also told me that he saw the notes from the original call stating that I was supposed to get 50Mbps. The emails pretty much were about the same information but that person just said maybe the modem is bad. Finally today (03/18/16) I called and the person said that I am set up on prime not prime plus. She also saw the notes listed from August. Told me that it wasnt completed so she cant offer me that and if I want to step up to prime plus it will $10 more now. Im like, you see the note and someone with your company screwed up, you should honor that promotion. This is why Mediacom is one of the worst cable companies ever. I really wish there were cable companies that you could choose from instead just one per county in Northwest Florida. Thats why I keep Directv for TV. If you can avoid Mediacom I would suggest you do.

Ive had mediacom cable for many years now. Over the last year, my Internet drops signal numerous times daily. Sometimes 4 or 5 times per hour. Ive had many technicians at my house over the last 6 months and still have the same problem. I cant work from home anymore because of the intermittent connection. I call and complain and they send another guy to my house next week, and they dont have an answer either. Very disappointed to say the least. Im not one to wrote bad reviews regularly, but I dont think this should go unheard. Please dont expect much. UPDATE: Mediacom did send someone out earlier this week, and he felt that he found the problem outside on the pole before it gets to my house. They sent out a bucket truck and I saw a technician replacing some things on the pole. My internet has been perfect since. The customer service has always been friendly, and they seemed willing to help. If my connection seems to stay as good as its been this week, Ill update and give another star. I am a happy customer now.

I have had Cox cable, Roadrunner, Comcast, AOL, Dish, DirectTV just to list a few. Mediacom has been the absolute worst cable service I have ever had. I asked them to turn off cable on the 14th of November 2014 and they decided on their own to turn it off on the 13th. When I called they said there wasnt a technician in the area. 2 hours later, I call again.. guess what.. there was a technician in the area. He decided that since it was scheduled to be turned off on the 14th he would go ahead and turn it off a day early. I suppose so his lazy a** wouldnt have to come back the next day. Mediacom is worst than having a satellite dish. If you are in their viewing area, get Dish or DirecTV. You will be much happier. As far as cable... you will have to deal with the intermittent outages (that they dont know about). Fortunately, I now have Cox Cable since I moved from Mediacoms viewing area. Oh, I only put 1 star because I couldnt submit with 0.
