It would be hard to adequately express the level of disgust and disdain I’ve come to harbor for Time Warner Cable. Let me explain: Not only are they charging me what I think is a ridiculous rate for TV and internet service (approximately $180 per month), but they routinely jack it up $10 or $20 in what I presume to be their hope I won’t notice. When I do, I call and complain, and they give me the same BS about my promotion ending, then find me a new promotion bringing my bill back down to essentially the same rate. This time the bill went to $213 per month! When I called I got some foreign sounding woman who, after placing me on hold for a period of time, informed me that unfortunately there currently were no promotions for which I qualified. I then told her it was time to start dropping services since there was no way I was paying this rate, and a great place to start was the phone service I haven’t used in over a year, but was told it would raise my bill if I dropped. She told me that to drop a service she’d have to transfer me to someone else. This time I got a woman who seemed to speak English as a first language (a HUGE plus) whom I told I wanted to cancel my phone service, then see about downgrading or dropping my TV service as well, as I had come to despise Time Warner, and could not stomach giving them any more money than absolutely necessary. She then told me if I wouldn’t mind answering a few questions, she’d see what she could do to help me. I said “ask away”. She asked me about my and my family’s phone, television, and internet habits and needs in a way that was obviously a canned sales pitch. She then put me on hold for a few minutes, then returned with another obvious sales pitch, outlining the exact same services I’ve had for years, quoted a “regular price” of about $300 per month, then another “promotional price” of… $180 per month in a tone as if she was trying to convince me I was getting something for free! (So the first woman absolutely LIED when she said no promotions were available, and I was LIED to again when one employee told me the “non-promotional” price was $213 while the other employee said $300!) I reiterated that I had ZERO use for the phone service (I don’t even have a phone hooked up to the line), and did not need the “super extreme” internet service, or 90% of the TV channels for which I was paying. She assured me that this was a package deal, and changing anything would just raise the bill. I told her I would then leave it as is at least while I looked for another provider, but asked about the $213 bill the website showed was due August 14. She told me that bill was already generated and service used, so there was absolutely nothing she could do about that bill. As my remaining patience had expired at this point, I told her she could stick the whole thing up her ass as whoever “generated” that bill could “regenerate” a new one, and there was NO F*****G WAY I was paying that bill. After a brief pause, she informed that bill would be adjusted accordingly. So not only am I posting this narrative online so that others might benefit from this information when dealing with these lying crooks, I’m also exploring forwarding a copy to local news outlets and our state’s Attorney General’s office, as it’s my belief that given the virtual monopoly TWC has on the cable market in Bowling Green, this degree of blatant lying to extort money from citizens is illegal as well as unethical.

TIME WARNER CABLE IS THE WORST CABLE COMPANY I HAVE EVER USED. I HAD ONLY INTERNET 1)WHEN IT WAS FIRST INSTALLED I WAS GETTING DISCONNECTED. I CALLED AND HAD OUR SERVICE UP GRADED BY TIME WARNER CABLES ADVICE MY SON BROUGHT A CABLE BOX COMPATIBLE TO TIME WARNER CABLE TO KEEP US FROM HAVING TO RENT THE BOX. WE WERE STILL GETTING DISCONNECTED AND WERE TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE BOX WE BROUGHT SO WE RENTED THERE BOX AGAIN AND STILL GOT DISCONNECT ONLY TO FIND OUT MY SERVICE WAS NEVER UP GRADED AND WE NEEDED THE 2ND BOX FOR INTERNET TO REACH THROUGH THE WHOLE HOUSE.2) THEY KEPT TRYING TO AUTO PAY THROUGH MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION AND CHARGE ME $30 FOR INSUFFICIENT FUNDS WHEN I DIDNT SET IT UP. THIS HAPPENED NOT ONE TIME BUT TWICE 09/01/2015 AND 11/01/2015. 3) THEY THEN WOULDNT LET ME PAY BY MY DEBT CARD BECAUSE OF MY PAY HISTORY AFTER THEY CREATED THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO PAY BY CHECK OR CASH AT THE LOCAL OFFICE( I AM ON DISABILITY AND HAVE TROUBLE GETTING AROUND, THE REASON I PAID ON LINE. I WAS NEVER LATE WITH ANY OF MY PAYMENTS.4) AFTER SPEAKING WITH A SUPERVISOR ON 11/02/2015 THAT SEEMED NOT TO CARE I WAS TOLD SHE WOULD CONTACT THE PAYMENT CENTER AND HAVE THE RESTRICTION LIFTED AND CONTACT ME SO I COULD PAY ON LINE AGAIN , I CAUGHT A BUS, WALKED 1 BLOCK AND WENT INTO THE OFFICE AND PAIDED CASH, GOOD THING I DID, I WAS NEVER CONTACTED BY ANYONE AND ONLY FOUND OUT THAT THE RESTRICTION WAS LIFTED WHEN I CALL TO HAVE THERE SERVICE SUSPENDED.AS I WAS LEAVING THE LOCAL OFFICE I TRIPPED AND FELL ON UNEVEN SIDE WALK IN FRONT OF THERE OFFICE FURTHER HURTING MY BACK! I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD A NEW PROMOTION TO OFFER ME...MY RESPONSE WAS NOT IF YOU OFFERED FREE CABLE OR INTERNET FOR A YEAR....NEVER AGAIN!!!

How do we give 0 stars? I honestly dont even know where to start. Since Insight had switched over to Time Warner Cable, I have spent at least 2-4 hours on the phone every month (if Im lucky) to deal with a vast array of issues. Everything from our bills being wrong (nearly every month), to trying to move service. The latest issue started when we decided to move to a state in the midwest (from Kentucky) and wanted to keep our service. We had two simple requests. We wanted to keep our exact service and for the same price, which we were promised, on multiple occasions, would not be a problem at all. Seven days later and after approximately 5-7 hours of talking with people on the phone we were finally told neither of those requests will be met. We would have to cancel our service here, start from scratch as new customers in our new residence (which we were promised would surely get us a better price with all of their great packages...) and go through the whole process of credit checks etc....Come to find out, to receive the exact current service we currently have, it would only cost us $81.00/month plus an installation fee. This is when I started laughing at the lady on the other end of the phone due to the fact we currently pay $34.77/ month. It is absolutely crazy that this company thinks they can treat their customers like this and that its okay. End of story, I will be unfortunately going with AT&T and receive crappy internet for a crappy price but, this sure beats ever having to deal with Time Warner Cable EVER again!!

After not being able to connect to the Internet after a million times, and 4 different boxes over the course of 6 months, I finally decided to look and see if other people were having the same problems I was. Come to find out almost everyone has, but the same problem of having nowhere to go because TWC being the only place in BG. IF YOU WANT CHANGE then I suggest you look up metronet and send them an email asking for service in our area like I have. Before we moved here I lived in Indiana and had metronet, and they are fiber Internet and cable company. For those of you that dont know what fiber is then let me try to explain, instead of sharing Internet with multiple people in your area you will have your own Internet with fiber, which means incredible speeds, almost 100x faster, and when I say that Im not exaggerating by no means. For example, they was running their entire company on their lowest internet package. Over the two years we had them in Indiana I never had to call them once. And when the TWC guy came to hook up our internet and cable box he thought I was joking when I told him our speed, but then learnt that it was fiber. The best thing about all this though is that it was incredibly chrap compared to TWC. So since metronet is starting to expand I suggest you send them an email asking for service her like I did, especially if youre tired of the TWC monoply they have here!
