I think Ive found the shop where Ill be taking my 2002 S8 for the time Ill own her. I took the car in for an overall inspection and everyone there from the very time I pulled in was polite and made me feel at ease. I cant say enough good things about these guys. The other reviews are 100% accurate. Go there and you will see what I and everyone else is talking about. Update 6/2014: FIVE STARS DOWN TO TWO STARS: If you have a car you really care about and its a special type of car like an S4, S6, RS6, S8, R8 etc. please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else - maybe the dealer as their prices wont be too much higher and they will have the skill. I should have done this but I made a big mistake. Bear with me, this gets a bit long... As you can see from above (written two years ago), my initial impressions were great. Now, however, I am left with an ownership experience with my car that causes me to question its well being and on whether or not bringing it here was the right choice. Every single time I picked my car up from this place, Ive had to bring it back for something. Some complaints are little. Things like not cleaning the car upon pickup (after spending $3500 for a major service) to seeing cabin air filters half installed and sticking out. These things, admittedly, are minor and, while leaving their shop a bit dejected, I let it slide. Other complaints I have are quite big/distressing. The all important belt service was performed by them shortly after I wrote my initial review (the $3500+ dollars referenced above). This failed one month ago. Two years time. Do the math, google it - whatever. This should not have happened under any circumstances. Luckily the car was at a light when their work failed or I would be out of an engine. Upon taking it back to them to make it right, there was a complete breakdown of communication between me, the front desk, and the technicians performing work on the car. Pieces ordered by them for the car that I had already provided upon drop off...their office ordering a left front bumper washer when a simple visual observation of the car would show the right one is missing! Simple things that could have been rectified if anyone was paying attention. On top of all this, they broke my fan when fixing their belt job! Whoever performed the service either didnt bother to check afterwords or knew he damaged it and didnt tell their service manager. Either way I had to find out on my way back home when it broke off my car going down the highway. Yes. When I called immediately after, their response to my wife when she dropped it off was simply "Hey, youve got to understand, its very cramped up there and tough to fit our hands in, so this can be expected." ???? No, it shouldnt, and at the very least you should check before you release the car back to my family! Like I said in the start of this update: You have something special you care about and want complete piece of mind? For the love of God, find somewhere else to take it. Feel free to respond, Ollie, though I would like to say to the entire internet that I have no reason to lie what-so-ever. Good bye and good day.

Hello, I have a Jetta TDI its a 2000 and the transmition hops a little bit when it starts from a dead stop in first gear (I have to ease her in). So I took it there. It costed about $380 in all (for the tranny). They told me that they would change my trany fluid and put the car on a machine and use a computer to fix the problem. The next day I come to pick up my car its still hopping in 1st gear. (So they didnt put it on that machine) And now the doors on my passanger side and driver side wont open. I went right in to tell them and they "Explained" to me that all Jettas do that. You have to push the door in to make it click and then open it. That magically happened while my car was in their care. So Im out a weeks pay check. The car still hops and now (and Im accusing them of theft) my door lock actuators on both my driver and passanger side need to be pushed in before I open my doors. There was a beeping sound coming from my car while I was driving and they fixed that (most likely by cutting some wire because now the light on my driver door doesnt work). Thats the only thing that I like about it. So about $500 dollars later my car has more problems then when I had it taken to them. I really felt like it was the Gunther VW quality of work, which I like to call "theft". So if youd like to pay for work that they are not sure if they can do (which is what they told me about the tranny hopping in first gear because trannys are tricky), and you would like them to change out your working door lock actuators out for ones that need to be pushed in and click in place so that Im able to open my door. I highly recommend them. But if youd like your car fixed. Best do it yourself. Everyone of these German car companies are crooks.

I truly dont know where to begin to explain how professional and honest German Car Depot is. I had an issue with my 2003 BMW X-5 that only has 74,000 miles and is in great condition. The brakes were not working and my wife was in Miami and was in Boston. I had such a great relationship with my BMW dealer in Boston and they have taken care of the car since it was new and always treated us fairly and did a great job. So we thought it would be a good idea to bring our car to Braman in Miami and have them fix it. WRONG IDEA!!!! They told us it would cost over $10,000 to fix it and it would be best to just sell the car to them for $1,900. I was confused because we have taken exceptional care of the car and had it serviced by our dealer in Boston before shipping the car down to Miami earlier this year. Well, I checked on line and read some good reviews on German Car Depot. I called and Tania answered. What a treasure!! She said she would have the car picked up on a flatbed and they would look at it. She called me back to let me know the car was picked up (less than an hour after I first called her) and they would put a quote together for me. Within the next day, she and her team had a quote to repair the issue as well as a small oil leak they noticed. The total cost to repair the issues was less than.... $900 and they said the car was in great shape. Not only did they fix my car they also had it delivered by flatbed back to my condo in South Beach. They did all this in a timely and friendly process while I was in Boston. German Car Depot is great and Tania is a FABULOUS customer service rep. I couldnt ask for any better service or treament. I have owned 6 BMWs and the service from German Car Depot was the best I have ever received. Thanks Tania!!!
