I recently took my 04 745li to Simonson in Hollywood. A fellow resident in my building had serviced her Mercedes with him and said the shop was very good. I will admit, I did not check them out online and see any of these reviews before hand. I am GLAD that i didnt as I would have been scared away. I will agree, Danny, the owner and manager, does indeed talk a little fast but I wouldnt say it was an issue, he was raised in New York and every New Yorker I have ever encountered in my life has been like that, it must be in the water up there. I took the car in as my BRAKE light was staying lit on the dash even though my parking brake wasnt engaged. I told him about the problem, he told me it was a common issue and that it actually didnt require a repair to continue driving the car as normal (I was surprised to hear that from someone who will only make an income by performaing a repair) but he said that it could be fixed by replacing the computer module that controls the electronic parking brake. I enjoy driving my vehicle and felt it was important to fix the issue rather than ignore it, I gave him the go ahead to get me a price on the part and labor. He had his daughter who was helping in the office drive me back to my condo in Aventura (not exactly around the block). He called me about an hour later to let me know the price of the part and the total cost of the repair, which I authorized, and he said he would try to have it done the same day, if not in the morning the following day. He said it would simply depend on if he was able to have the BMW dealership get the part to him the same day as it was already later in the afternoon. He called me about an hour and ahalf later and said he was able to get the part and the car was ready. He sent his daughter again to pick me up. My car was washed and vaccumed when i arrived and the repair bill was for exactly what he qouted me. I was very pleased with the job and how I was treated. So as I said, I am happy that I did not see these reviews before going there as I wouldnt have found a very nice mechanic and helpful place.

I have never had this kind of service from an auto repair company in my life. They advertise themselves as an "exotic car" service center. I saw a few late model BMWs and few older foreign cars. Nothing new, nothing expensive. I was greeted by a very fast talking - new york bookie type owner. I had no choice but to leave my brand new car with him because he claimed that all four of my tires were finished and that I had no brakes left. Halfway through the service I asked him to also fix a small chip of pain on the bumper. He told me he would have a look at it. A day later when it was time to pick up the car he told me I owed him $500 for the chip because he had to repaint the whole bumper. I told him that I never approved that but he said it was already complete - so I had no choice. He tried to get me to buy $1600 tires, saying anything else would not work for the car. I told him that was impossible and I had only $1200 to spend on tires. Once he saw I was not budging he claimed that the cheaper tires I wanted were actually great. He did not want to lose my buisness obviously. I endedup buying brakes off of him as well because he claimed that in 2000 miles they would be worthless. I had no choice. How could a nice fellow like me handle this fast talking hustler? What if he tried to ruin my car because I did not purchase everything he requested? What could I have done? All said and done I spend $3,000!! I found his advertisment in google under "Miami porsche service" and "miami porsche repair" I noticed that he actually took the time out to remove the plastic license plate guard and replace it with his - for his own benifit. This is after I spent $3,000 with him. I decided to call him, out of frustration. He told me that my old license plate guard was faded. I told him that I thought it was classless for him to put his advertisement on the back of my brand new porsche. He HUNG UP ON ME!! RUN from Simonsons foreign car service, he will rip you off.

This shop had my vehicle for some minor repairs, replacing a Tie-rod end a pwr steering hose and some pulleys was appointed to work on the BMW e39 540i, Put a lein on my vehicle and auctioned it off without contacting me. The car had current registration, and insurace cards in the vehicle at the time. My ex-wife at the time cariied the car in to have the minor work done and This guy refused to give me a detailed bill with part numbers, He did about 1800 dollars worth of repairs and told me I need to come up with roughly 10k cash to get my vehicle back. Im just stating the facts here.

Overall, working with Simonson was an uncomfortable, overly expensive and lengthy experience.I gave them a 2 out of 5 instead of a 1 because the car runs well even though I had to personally repair a problem they created. I dont feel as though they had my best interests at heart. Rather, I believe I was over charged and was poorly advised. I blame myself for trusting them.
