Please read entire compliant. I normally do not take time to complain about poor service, I just never go back! This is too important to not be reported. I brought my truck in for an oil change 11/15. The service writer was slow and unappreciative to have a customer. Finally my ticket was complete and the Oil change service process was started. I did not watch the service performed, but when I noticed my truck was parked outside I went to the service desk to ask to pay and leave. The first person said my ticket was not there and told me he would look for it, I noticed him walking to back of store not the service bay. During this time the Store manager and another associate spent more than 10 minutes trying to figure out how to do a battery refund for another customer, "Associate kept saying that he needed SM code for refund and SM kept saying no you dont". After standing there for the duration, I then asked the associate with the manager if he could accept my payment so I could leave (1.5 hrs for oil change),the first employee never returned from the back of the store. The associate then picked my service contract that was laying there the whole time and received my payment. At that time I was angry and just wanted to leave. I went home and parked in the driveway and there the truck stayed till Sunday. As I walked up to my truck I noticed a large oil spill on my driveway. I opened the hood and seen oil spilled all down the side of my engine, even over on my battery, there was so much oil that I thought they left the plug out or the filter loose, neither was the case. I then started to inspect my vehicle, I have oil stains in floor of cab, you smell oil in cab and the engine on the entire driver side is wet with oil, to include my fan belt and oil puddled in my skid plate. In addition no other fluids were topped off- Windshield or Pwr steering - which was low. I immediately called the store and asked to speak with a manager and a person named Eric said he was the customer Service manager. He stated he would relay info to Store Manager and someone would get back to me. To this point I have heard nothing from anyone at that store. This further relays a bad customer service experience/environment at that branch. STAY AWAY, They are all PreMadonnas and think you need them more than they need you. Store Manager does not have control of his Customer Service Program.....

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have placed my families lives into my vehicles. For that reason I chose Pep-Boys, on San Jose Blvd Jacksonville FL, as my professional source of car repair for over 10 YEARS. When Pep-Boys repairs my cars they have done very well and rarely do I have to return for follow up. I was always pleased to walk in and see Eric who is now at another store. Trust starts with the first person a customer sees when they enter any business. If there are three people standing around, and seem not busy, the customer becomes uneasy. If one of those people look at and not acknowledge the customer they become more uncomfortable. By the time the employee greats the customer the employee must start damage control before proceeding. Loss of trust and the need for damage control happens in the first few seconds of entering the store. The Jacksonville Pep-Boys on San Jose BLVD has started "Finding" things wrong with every visit. These additional "Findings" are frequently not in need of repair or costs seem to be in excess of $800. Two examples: First: When the mechanic noted our SUVs battery was over 4 years old, we suddenly had a "Problem" battery that did not start the car. My wife brought the car home so I load tested and topped off the charge. I found no issues and expect the battery to SAFELY last 6 more months (or more). Second: My sons Ford had fluid on the master cylinder where it mounted to the vehicle, but on further inspection I noted the "wetness" was coming from the reservoir cap. We cleaned the area and currently monitoring. The tires were also noted as worn (kudos this was a real finding) but serviceable for a little while longer. My Experience: Ironically when I visit, if there are findings, I am told any finding might be an issue later not a critical situation now. We have come to the conclusion this Pep-Boys might have persons who attempt to use the customers ignorance as a means to unnecessary financial gain.

Stay away from Raymond! I purchased a battery from this location 2 weeks ago. Today the car would not start. I brought the car to a local Goodyear location. Paid 25 dollars for a full electrical diagnostic test. I was told there was absolutely no question that i have a defective battery. They jumped the car for me and i was able to get the vehicle back to Pep Boys. They tested the battery twice, told me the battery was no good. They then told me that since i installed the battery myself, i would have to pay them 17.99 to have them install it. Plus i would have to wait 45 minutes before they could get to it, even though there were mechanics standing around doing nothing all over the place. I decided i could do it myself in the parking lot since my battery is dead, i could not get home, I had to purchase a 10 dollar adjustable wrench from the store to be able to do it. They would not give me the new battery until i brought the old one back in...they know my name, address, credit care info from the last purchase on the receipt in front of them. Raymond then told me he would not replace the battery again if it went bad, something about amps vs volts... What made this entire experience unbearable was an employee named Raymond. I have never met a more rude man in my life. He belittled me and the other employee (missed his name, short red hair, nice guy) that was helping me constantly. Im normally a very passive person. I have never complained much less wrote a negative review in my life. But it took every bit of restraint i had not to throw the battery through the front window of the store. I will never under any circumstances return to a Pep Boys location.

Pretty poor experience. One saving grace was first representative I talked to was quite helpful in assisting me to locate the parts I needed. But that was it. Parts were expensive and worse part DEFECTIVE! After installing the part and testing the components I brought the part back and asked to test the part to see if it was defective. I was SMUGLY told I had a bigger problem and they would charge me 45 dollars to do a diagnostic! BS, it would take thirty seconds with an amp meter and they wanted 45 dollars! I bought the part from Orielys (who by the way has a nicer and more informed staff). Part works fine, problem was the DEFECTIVE crap they sell at pep boys. When I asked another staff member for some advice on another engine I have he told me he knew nothing and that was it. At OReilys they opened up books, pulled up internet diagrams and told me to bring it by so they could help out. SHOP AT OREILYS for better parts and service, hands down, located around the corner!
