SCAM ALERT PART DEUX! I also took my SUV to Aamco after it starting giving me problems for a "free estimate". I explained to the manager that my car had be kicking and idling high but I had recently had the trans rebuilt and wasnt sure what the issue may be. They took my car in to evaluate it and 4 hours later I recieved a call from the manager Lazaro Borrego claiming that I had an internal issue with my transmission. They had checked all all the diagnostics and they had come back normal, but there was def. something wrong and they could not tell externally. He claims they needed to remove my transmission to do a further diagnostic to find the problem and that is would cost me $450.00 to have it removed. I asked if this amount could be added to the repair cost and he stated no, that any additonal repairs or cost would be extra and that $450.00 was only to remove the trans. I know for a fact a rebuild of the transmission is $1600.00 costing me a total of almost $2,000.00 after all is said and done. Not feeling 100% secure about what options I was being given by Aamco I took my SUV to Wiwi transmission and explained the problem. The manager at Wiwi said he wouldbe happy to have one of his mechanics look at it and tell me what the issue was. Fourty minutes later I was approached by the mechanic inspecting my car and was told to follow him to the back to see what the problem was. He showed me a small black 3 prong plug on top of the trans that had come out. It appears during the original rebuild it was not secured 100% into place and had popped out cause the rough shifting and high idling. He pushed the sensor plug back in to my transmission and it is working 100% perfect with no problems. A 40 minunte second opinionn saved me $2000.00 in unecessary repairs. I was LIED to and taken advantage of by manager Lazaro Borrego and I will never return to Aamco or ref. anyone to them. DO NOT bring your vehicle there unless you have bags of money you are looking to give away to con artist mechanincs, only then will you get your monies worth!

I took my truck for transmission repairs. Victor was the one who took it in. The following week there was someone covering for him. I think it was Michael. He was very unprofessional and had no clue what he was doing. In addition, he was very rude and treated me like I was gonna take my truck and not pay. Finally got my truck back, 4000.00 later. The truck had the battery cables loose, the transmission drain plug loose and the transfer case drain any fill plug loose. The third gear was the original problem, it was still giving me problems. I took the truck back and Victor said it was fixed. On the way home I stopped for gas and the truck wouldnt turn back on. Same thing that happened the first time. I called viator and he said that it wasnt his problem, I started fine at the shop and left. I found that they had over tightened the battery cable to the point that they broke the bolt on the cable. Again I noticed the transmission not shifting properly in third gear. The next weekend I went hunting and got stuck in the mud and was stranded because my 4xr wouldnt engage. Again I called Victor and he said it had nothing to do with him and that I called on a Friday afternoon to argue and he wasnt gonna argue with me. That is poor customer service and shoddy workmanship. Twice I had my truck there and they still couldnt fix it. Not to mention they broke something and left the drain plugs loose. While I was there, the mechanic had his shirt tied up in a ball to his chest with his whole stomach showing, one pant leg up like a gang member. The worst place to take your car. I did some research and found that Aamco has been sued and all you need to do is call the attorney generals office to file a complaint and they will give you other numbers for consumer services Division to file your complaint as well and demand a refund. I will not take it back there cause I already they cant fix it and they will break something else. I have filed my complaints already and now Im going to write to their corporate office. Joe

Watch out for this place. I was ripped off. After my car broke down they replaced the clutch, resurfaced the flywheel, and replaced the slave cylinder...I dropped $1,500 at this place. The next time I drove the car it wouldnt hold speed and it began shaking. I took it back and gave the shop full permission to drive it until they figured out the problem. Aamco held the car for five days and claimed absolutely nothing was wrong with it. Upon getting the car back again, I was still experiencing the symptoms. I took it right to Tires Plus and they showed me the problem. Aamco had put the wrong fluid back in my Master Cylinder. That one mistake caused the fluid to boil at lower than normal temperatures, warped the cylinder cap, caused the calipers to seize which wore on my brake pads and rotors. Aamco denied they did anything wrong. The managers proof that they didnt put the wrong fluid in was showing me a list of what fluids each car takes and then showing me that they had a bottle of the brake fluid my car takes on their shelf. Proves a lot, right? Aamco still denied that anything was wrong and refused to fix the problem even though my car became nearly undriveable due to shaking. Thank goodness my pads and rotor were still under warantee, none the less I still had to drop $400 to replace the calipers, which never would have been locking if the proper brake fluid was put in my car. DO NOT GO here, will take as much money as posible, and not willing to help, dont have wahts best for you or your car in mind.

If you are thinking about taking your car to this Aamco, be prepared to pay large amounts of money for work you dont need. The manager Raul Leyva LIED to my face after a free estimate. I took my car in to get my transmission issue evaluated. I told the manager I wasnt sure if the fluid was filled correctly and to please check it. This is the work they claimed to have done: They hooked it up to the computer and there were no error codes. They test drove it and it indeed had the issues I had brought it in for. The next step offered was to remove the transmission, for $600, and take it apart to see what the problem was. From there, they would give me an estimate to fix it. "It could be from $800-1200 plus anything else we find broken." The manager, Raul, told me that the fluid level had been checked and was fine. I wasnt very comfortable with this "estimate", so I went to another shop. Turns out, the transmission fluid was 3 quarts low! There was a leak. The only issue was a faulty overdrive piston seal. Diagnosed and fixed at another shop for $200.
