All parents send your kids here! I am a 25 year old college student and recently went into this store. I drive a Honda civic and do not have much family help. The first thing I would like to say is I am a very difficult customer. I get multiple prices, I question everything, I ask for break downs and like to make sure im not paying for things I dont need. I will even go as far as to show other places quotes to each other and ask why there is a price difference. With all of that being said, I went into this store about a week ago. I first spoke with Clarence the manager. He was extremely polite and respectful. I explained the situation to him and asked if a mechanic could ride with me to listen to the noises my car was making. Kenny the master Mechanic rode with me. He was also very nice and we joked around in the car while I was attempting to make the noises occur. He made the process very casual and not nerve wracking. He also knew what the issue was immediately just from hearing the sound. He assured me he would have to look but that was what he believed. (He was right by the way). After that they quoted me some prices and I told them I would return. I am also a triple A member. I took my car to a Triple A approved shop and did the same thing. It was not nearly as pleasant as Pepboys team was. They also quoted me at a much higher level and wanted to replace things that were not needed. I did not know that at the time but figured that out after I returned and spoke with Clarence again and showed him their quote. I then took a few days to organize the cash that I needed. When I returned, Clarence, Carol their service writer and Frank another manager all spoke with me and gave me several quotes for work. All were very well priced and they told me due to the wheel bearing on my Honda, they would have to get in there to see if the hub was also damaged. So I decided to do the work at this Pepboys. The work was finished quickly and I was extremely happy when my car no longer was loud and noisy. As far as everyones complaint about their ability to get to you quick enough. I did have some wait time but this is also an extremely busy store. An if you have ever had anything explained to you, or watch someone look up car parts in a data base. You will know why it sometimes takes other team members and a small amount of time to help them. This place is 5 minutes away from UCF and also services a lot of non college students. I am still in shock that a triple A approved place was so much higher. I plan on having all of my work done at this pepboys going into the future. I would just like to sincerely thank Carol, Kenny, Frank and Clarence for their time, patience and quality service/work. I know this might seem like over kill but for me several hundred dollars is a very big deal. An there is always that underlying sketchy feeling that your mechanic is doing something for profits.

My car was not blowing cold air so I came in to get a diagnostic test. They said the my heating cord(pretty sure thats what they said) was broken and that my car was leaking freon. I asked about the price, naturally, and they told that with labor it would be 1400 dollars. Being a college student, I dont have that kind of money so I went ahead and said I was going to get a second opinion. I dont know his name but one guy, very short hair or balding, starts giving attitude as I was walking away saying "Im telling you right now you wont find a better price anywhere. No place better than here!" So that guy made an impression but not the right kind. Other staff members tried their best to be helpful, so Im not faulting them for his actions. I finally took my car in to another place and said the same problem but the price was significantly different. They charged me 212 with labor. So because of this experience I have learned that I cannot trust this pep boys and it will no longer receive my business. On a separate occasion my battery had died so I had my car towed to this location. Once I got in there they came to me 20 minutes later and said that I needed to move a few things from my trunk so they could replace the battery. I went out and moved things around trying to make space forever them. While I was doing this the guy they had to replace the battery was sitting on outside the garage smoking and looking at me like I was an idiot. Once I moved enough things I told him and once he got to my trunk he looked in and then yelled out "you need to clean this out better! I cant get to the battery!" I had to walk over and show him that there was enough space and then he preceded to have an attitude towards me for just showing him where to look. So it is for these reasons that I will no longer be goin to pep boys on Alafaya. Incredibly over priced(practically theft) and 2 employees that were lacking in people skills and manners.

I wish I could evaluate this Pep Boys location based on their work but unfortunately they never got around to working on my car because they "must have forgot about it" - per the manager. I made an appointment for a simple tire patch and was told they would call me as soon as it was finished. Cut to 4 hours later, at closing time, I still havent received a call about my car. Since I depend on my vehicle to get to work and back every day, I decided to go over to the store to find out what the status was. It was 5 minutes after closing time and 2 mechanics were still in the shop closing up. I asked about my vehicle and neither mechanic knew anything about it - what needed to be done, what had been done, nothing. I asked the mechanic more questions and was told "thats above my pay grade." Then I asked to speak to a manager and to have my car taken off the lift and removed from the garage so that I could take it to another repair shop in the morning. Meanwhile the other mechanic was clearly annoyed that we were there. He went out and sat in his car (probably had to wait until the manager was done closing up so he could leave) then he pulled up his huge vehicle right to where we had been standing for 25 minutes and shined the brights on us -WTF- while sitting in the truck and shooting the breeze with the other mechanic. Both were clearly annoyed that I had the gall to come and inquire about my car which was in for a simple tire patch. Then I waited 45 minutes to speak to the manager. He told me they "probably just forgot about you" and I said well obviously. I asked it this was a typical experience that other customers could expect from his business. He gave me a card with "free oil change ok" scribbled on it which I doubt I will use. What a waste of everyones time. If you want to get your car repaired at a shop that employs professional, customer-friendly people, skip this place.
