Ill share my experience with Quantum Mechanics since its been so different from what I in my pre-Quantum times had experienced with auto mechanic services. I drive about 900 miles a week so I need to have a car that is reliable and works. Previously I have taken my car to be fixed at several places, usually based on friends recommendations or just whatever a Google search brought my way. Ive had some good experiences, some OK experiences, and some "Im-just-gonna-start-riding-my-bicycle-from-now-on" ones. What seem to be common themes are that a) the work done on the car is explained to me in very vague terms, b) the reasoning for why I need to have the different things done, parts purchased etc. has always remained a mystery, and c) the whole place, from the service Ive gotten to the appearance of the place itself has never made a good impression on me. Until I went to Quantum. So heres a place that first of all is really well taken care of. Right from the moment you step in the door (and are greeted by the cutie behind the counter) everything is just really pleasant. At Quantum, I have always been treated with friendliness, respectfulness and attentiveness - features I never associated with an auto mechanic shop before, or ones that a female customer automatically gets in the car world... The best thing about the shop to me, though, is that they are so honest. The service adviser wont try to upsell you services you dont really need, or worse: just perform them and then tell you they needed to be done, and charge you tons for it. Instead hell tell you where your car is at, what needs to be taken care of right now, what can wait until the next service/year/paycheck etc. I love it. A minus in my books is that when you encounter a problem with your car or know you need service, you need to make an appointment asap because these guys are busy. Then again, to me its kind of comforting to know that everyone else thinks theyre great, too. And it is a huge help that you can schedule a loaner car (a nice one!) while theyre working on yours, so you dont have to resort to hitch-hiking while your own car is getting TLC. I dont really understand the complaint someone had about the pricing. Could I get the job done elsewhere for cheaper? Probably. Then again, have I or my car ever gotten anything but excellent treatment at Quantum? Nope. They do what needs to be done, they do it super, and they give you amazing warranty. I dont go to the cheapest hairdresser I can find, because I want to get good quality work. Same applies here. Oh, and here are some added bonuses: The space is nice and clean (like, really clean) both at the reception and in the workshop, the mechanics are easy on the eyes, and the reception area is not a bad place to spend a bit of time reading the latest issues of your favorite mags.

I took my 2004 Toyota to them for a regular check, ie, oil change, rotate tires, etc. They called and had over $1,700 worth of "needed" repairs. They stated I had a bad oil leak and want to replace the valve gasket cover for $850 and would need to do some additional work to get at the valve covers costing another $300+. I was taken back as I never smelled burning oil, never observed leak spots, always check my oil etc. Then I called my old mechanic I used before I moved and he said for same work/parts it was $450, not $850. I google the cost of the work in areas around Decatur and other places quoted for same work for labor/parts from $375-450. I told them not to do it. They did other things which I dont know if there were really needed. So it has now been 6 weeks, 5,000 miles driven and I check the oil with every gas fill and check for smell of burning oil, spots under the car etc. Nada. They said I had a "moderate" leak and warned me that it would throw oil all over and ruin the hoses and be a mess. Well, it never was and perhaps the "moderate" leak healed itself miraculously during the last 6 weeks and trip to the midwest. But I would never go to these guys again. If you do, get a second opinion before spending a penny with them. and... to post this I would need to give them at least 1 star, so will do so but I wouldnt have given them any stars if possible...

Best Experience Ever! I purchased a 2004 Passat from a very dishonest dealer. I was unaware that the vehicle had major water damage that occurred every time it rained! In addition to this discovery, it seems to have a snowball effect; the computer modules located underneath the carpets floorboard was soaked. This lead to mold, mildew, burned circuits, and 85% of the electronics malfunctioning. To fix this problem, I called Stone Mountain Volkswagen. I wont go into detail but I will say that their service is horrible and I will never send another vehicle of mine ever again. I had the vehicle towed to Heritage Volkswagen in Lithia Springs. I was notified there was nothing that could be done. I appreciated their help. Which leads me to "Quantum Mechanics". Let me tell you, these guys are great! They have helped me getting this car running like a champion. I will always consult them on all of my future cars. Call these guys up, Spencer and Matt have wonderful customer service skills and are extremely knowledgeable. Thanks again Quantum Mechanics.

These guys are the real deal! We have been met with courtesy, sincerity, and straightforward answers from day one. These gentlemen are thorough, neat, attentive, trustworthy, and good at what they do. They run a clean shop and a tight ship, and give you a straight answer when you need it. My father (who lives in Ohio) has a great mechanic he has gone to for years, and I have long been jealous of him. After much hemming and hawing in Atlanta, after many failed attempts to get straight answers and solid work, after searching and searching for a mechanic worth his salt, my wife and I are blessed to finally have found ourselves a trustworthy, hassle-free, honest shop. They clearly enjoy their work, and this extends to you, the customer. I have never found them to be particularly overpriced, as others have suggested; rather, they do quality, well-documented work, with no hidden fees of any kind. I will take my cars to them until Im too old to drive.

I had recently purchased a used car, so I decided to bring it in to Quantum for a checkup, having heard of the shop from friends. After the inspection, the shops representative, Spencer Tondreau, called and informed me of all the potential work that needs to be done, which are: a battery replacement, belt replacement, and changing the air filter. After doing some research online, I elected to forgo the air filter service to do it myself, and was met with no pushback or opposition - being a salesman in my previous job, I appreciated that. I did get the battery and belt changed, and the car was finished and returned to me by the end of the day. Overall, my experience with Quantum was very positive. I was assured that the people working on my car knew what they were doing, and I had the peace of mind knowing that I wasnt being charged for extra service I didnt need. Theres not much else you can ask of your mechanics.
