Professional, courteous, on-time, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced! What more can you want from a contractor?! :) I have a sinkhole with an undetermined cause at the corner of my house, and, of course, all of my utilities go right through the sinkhole (except for water). So I had a compromised power supply right next to a compromised gas line. Not good. On Christmas Eve morning, 2015, the powerbox caught on fire after the sinkhold dropped again. I called GA Power and then starting searching for an electrician to help me. I found Kalahari Electrical on Angies List, and the reviews were great. Jan worked with me on Christmas Eve to get the ball rolling to keep my house safe. Between then and today, Jan Roussouw has worked with me to get this thing resolved. He was an excellent go-between with the GA Power guys, coordinating the whole project... which was extensive. Among other things, it involved custom conduit pipes, digging a trench (by hand because of the gas lines) from the house to the power supply at the road, bracing the power box to the foundation of the house, and bracing the pipe into the ground. Jan kept me in the loop throughout the progress of the project, which I really appreciated, and he showed up promptly for every meeting with me and with GA Power. He was easy to get in touch with by phone and text. Despite the major digging that had to be done, its hard to tell there was any repair. They left it in much better shape than they found it! Even the GA Power guys commented on how well he did his job. Full disclosure, I did not get other quotes because of the time issue, so Im not sure how it would compare to others, but considering all that was done and the level of coordination involved, I am satisfied with the price. ($5,600) Do yourself a favor and use Kalahari Electrical Services. You MIGHT find someone cheaper, but I doubt you could find someone who is this good at customer service and quality work.

This is the most ridiculous service I have ever had. This man came to my house to check my electricity cos one room and washer rooms light is not working. He spent less than 1 minute in checking the circuit. Next thing he told me that my price is $285. I was shocked because he did not even tell me what the problem is and how he is going to fix it. When I questioned him about what he is charging for, he asked me to pay his $40 for coming out to my house. Very horrible customer service. I gave him back his card. He is very ridiculous. He only cares about his money. How can you Charge someone without telling them what you are fixing for them. That is exactly what i got from him.

If you are looking for an electrician who will go above and beyond the call of duty to supply quality workmanship and customer satisfaction, you need to look no further than Kalahari. Not only was Jan willing to fit me into his schedule at short notice, but also confirmed the appointment prior to arrival and communicated his progress throughout the appointment. I had several small projects due and he itemized the estimate which enabled me to make informed decisions. I found him to be very knowledge and his advice was extremely helpful. This will be my go-to electrician in future as he will be hard to beat in terms of pricing and service.

We needed to flip our breaker box for a renovation. While some electricians either gave us insanely high quotes, tried to talk us into more costly jobs, or advised us to "just leave it", Kalahari Electrical listened to our needs and was eager to help. They showed up when they said they would. They covered our furniture before-hand and cleaned up after the job. Jan, (pronounced Yahn) was very professional, friendly and very thorough in his work. Our newly placed fuse box is finally impeccably organized. This South-African team is beyond compare and their prices are hard to beat. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.

I contacted Kalahari Electrical Services to install a whole house surge protector. (I had been playing "phone tag" with my go-to electrician so it was time for plan B.) The business owner, Jan Rossouw, provided me with a reasonable estimate for both the surge protector (an Eaton CHSPT2ULTRA) and the install. Jan completed the install while I watched two days later. I understand that small residential jobs such as these are not the meat-and-potatoes of tradesmen and contractors so I greatly appreciated Jans accommodating my odd work schedule and his prompt communication. Mr. Rossouw is now my go-to electrician.

The electrician arrived when scheduled to repair the electrical mast, which had been yanked off the side of our house when a neighbors tree came down. Kalahari did the work quickly so that we could get our power restored. Unfortunately, the electrician did not reattach the mast firmly, and a few days later it began to pull away from the house and fall off. This is a big deal, because the original repair cost over $1,600 -- when the mast falls, it destroys the electrical box. But Kalahari responded right away, rushed out, and reattached it firmly before any further damage occurred. Alls well that ends well.

I had Kalahari replace an entire electrical panel first. We lost power on a Thursday night and Jan and Joe worked most of the day on Friday to get our panel up and running before the weekend, not leaving until late Friday night. They were several hundred dollars cheaper than two other quotes we got. I have since called them back to trouble shoot two outlets that were not working. Jan worked the better part of a day on this. Knowledgeable, professional, first rate.

I was in a real bind! Another company was supposed to provide me a quote for services I need to have done and 3 days after the initial I still didnt have a quote, nor could I reach the electrician to speak him. I called Kalahari Wednesday night, they were here promptly Thursday morning, provided an estimate, and had the repairs completed in less than an hour! Very professional, knowledgeable, and more importantly he kept his word!

What an amazing company with excellent customer service. We had a light out in our kitchen and laundry room and Jan came by late in the evening and had the issue resolved within minutes! Jan and his beautiful wife are very friendly, humble, and nice people. We also got some Rooibos tea/remedies for our baby who has eczema. We would rehire Jan in a heartbeat! P.S. Jan also guarantees his work for 5 years which is unheard of!!!!

These guys are professional, prompt and thorough. We had a bunch of chewed wires in the attic (squirrels) that need to be replaced. The job looked clean and perfect when they were done, and it was a significant improvement to the way it was originally done (sloppy wires everywhere). They responded and set an appointment within a couple of days, showed up on time, and got the job done fast. Highly recommended.

They were prepared for everything, including keeping our refrigerators working on a generator during the power-off shutdown, which was really fast and efficient.
