My wife and I travelled to Duluth from Charlotte for a concert and overnight stay. When we arrived at the Hotel, I noticed the "check battery" light on my dashboard. It was just two hours prior to the concert, so I had AAA come to the parking lot to check out the problem. They advised it was most likely the alternator, but we didnt have time to deal with it before the concert. I searched Google Maps for auto service centers in the area and found LAC. It had over 30 reviews and a very high rating. Fortunately, we had booked a hotel close to the Infinite Energy Center, and we were able to walk to the show. The next morning, I called LAC and spoke with Jeff and set up an appointment for 8:30 am. Upon arrival, I noticed that the lobby was very clean. The young guy that greeted me took my information and told me that they would check to be sure that my problem was, in fact, the alternator. Within 20 minutes, he confirmed that I needed a new alternator and that they could have one delivered in 15 minutes, install it and get us on the road back to Charlotte. He went over the cost with us and the work to be done. I asked them to also change the oil, knowing that I needed this done within the next few days anyway. It would have been very easy for LAC to overcharge me knowing that I didnt have any choice but to have them do the work required. But, the cost was very reasonable (I did a search for the average cost to replace an alternator and LACs cost was very competitive). My wife and I were back in the car just a few minutes after 10:00 am that morning. We want to thank everyone at LAC for the great job. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend LAC to anyone in the area.

70% incompetent, 20% dishonest, 10% unnecessary overhead I took my Jeep in with three issues I wanted resolved. I had a leaking seal in the transmission, the A/C control switch didnt work and and the engine was idling rough. I was charged $95 for a diagnostic fee and they told me I needed a new transmission, a new engine and a new wiring harness without actually identifying any specific problems. They completely ignored the air conditioning problem and charged me almost $300 to replace the rear seal in the transmission. They wouldnt use the $8 part that I bought because they "couldnt warranty" the repair. Then after they replaced the seal they said they wouldt warranty the repair because I didnt put in a new transmission. It failed in less than 4 months. I replaced it myself this time in 20 minutes for $8 and it hasnt broken again in the last 8 months. With 3 to 4 people constantly in the office it is easy to see why they have to overcharge to cover unnecessary salaries. It has been a year now and the engine is still running, the wiring harness is still functioning and I drive 200 - 300 miles a day and often pull a trailer. So in summary I was charged $400 for a 20 minute repair, mislead on other issues, never got a diagnosis on the engine idle, completely skipped 1/3 of my requests, and had to rent a car for 3 days. Worst experience at a mechanic ever.

Let me start off by saying that I, rarely, write reviews. I, usually, work on my vehicles myself because there arent many shops I can trust. This was my first coming to LAC. Right when I walked in the door, Kim made me feel important. She was friendly and professional. I had to get my clutch, slave cylinder, and rear main seal replaced on my Chevy Colorado. They gave me a quick quote. They were straight forward and I felt comfortable using their service. Theyre more knowledgeable than other shops I dealt with. They used quality parts on my truck and I can trust them to work on my vehicles. Honestly, I left feeling like I owe them. They went out of their way and provided far better services than I expected. I am highly impressed and satisfied. They will be the only shop that I will use from now on. I highly recommend you give them a try. I am not disappointed at all. Theyre family owned and operated. They work on antique vehicles as well. I have a 69 VW Beetle that I only work on myself. I can trust them to work on it in the future. Thank Lawrenceville Auto Center for your service!

I have been to LAC a few times now. They are great and honest! My first experience with them I brought in a vehicle with a transmission problem. Instead of doing the work on it they were completely honest and referred me to the dealership because they said it was probably covered under my powertrain warranty. They were right and I saved hundreds of dollars! My last visit I brought in another vehicle that was unable to start. They inspected the entire starting/charging system and fuel system. They concluded that it was a software issue with my key that malfunctioned for that one attempt to start. Instead of taking me for a ride and doing any work that was not needed they were honest. It is refreshing to have an auto mechanic you can trust! They do great work as well and do what is best for their customers. Thank you!

I have had 2 cars serviced with LAC and have been extremely pleased with the work as well as the friendliness of the staff. I brought my PT Cruiser in yesterday to have the oil changed and asked for an full inspection as I knew there were some potential issues lurking. I received a phone call with a detailed list of things that were of concern and was also informed that the car was a serious safety issue. Instead of pushing me to fix the car, they suggested I weigh the cost of the repair to the worth of the vehicle. I asked to see what they were talking about and they happily brought me to the back and walked me through each of the items on the list. I appreciated the honesty and thoughtfulness for my familys safety in lieu of simply getting more business. I will continue to bring my vehicles to them for service!

A great experience, all around. Friendly, honest staff, and very professional. A nice family business. The techs are great. Knowledgeable and thorough. My car was repaired very competently and in a timely manner. They did not "nickel and dime" me to death by fixing unnecessary items. They saved my car for me. I had a leak that was not visible to me. My car was overheating, and I did not realize it. Im embarrassed to admit that I failed to check the coolant properly. Lawrenceville Auto Center found the problem, repaired it, and my car is fine today. They participate in Napa Carecare program, and that really helped too. So, I highly recommend Lawrenceville Auto Center.I will be back when necessary (but now I watch my coolant), as will my family.

I had my truck at another shop (Pep Boys) because it would not start. Lilburn Auto, my usual shop, was booked 5 days out. Pep Boys could not figure it out. I called Lawrenceville Auto and had it towed there. Lawrenceville Auto called me soon after receiving my truck and said my Crankshaft position sensor was bad. They fixed it quick at a reasonable price and I was back on the road fast. That is important to me as I work out my truck. Nice shop. Experienced technicians with the proper tools and equipment and fair rates. I plan on using this shop from now on. I should have called them first.
