1 review 1.0 star rating 7/5/2017 UPDATE: Im editing this review because they came back and rectified the situation by honoring what they had quoted and getting the job done. They were friendly and efficient and everything seems to be working as expected. Just need some work on the upfront communications, but aside from that, Id use again. These guys are absolutely awful and do not keep their word. I was matched with them through HomeAdvisor. I received a call from Mr. Sparky immediately after putting my request in online for installation of a ceiling fan. The gentleman on the phone quoted me $89.95. I asked (several times over) to clarify that this was the installation cost and NOT a trip fee. When they got out here, the guy proceed to write up and estimate for $193! I told him about the conversation I had with THEIR employee (and encouraged them to pull the recorded phone records), and even after speaking with his general manager, they refused to rectify the situation. While I recognize this is probably an issue with training, that shouldnt be my problem or my responsibility (especially when Ive personally had to take off work to accommodate their schedule. Definitely avoid these guys.

How can they even get 4 stars? I actually had lightening hit my house twice in a matter of a month...panel was fried...But everything worked in the house without a problem but obviously we couldnt let this go...well first it was that...than we went from there to a suggested rewire of the house, which the insurance company approved...we are talking thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars...makes all the rest of these quotes mere pennies. That was August 2014..Almost a year ago...Have had to have them back more times than I can count actually for things not working...whole sections of the house not working. How can an electrical system that worked fine when fried be such a mess after a team of expensive electricians get their hands on it. A few times they actually said they needed to charge me for the house call...WTF? I said I wasnt paying for it. Then once told that there might be a charge if it didnt come under warranty. Again...WTF? I guess I am stuck calling them for life now because who knows if any of my future electrical problems will be anything less than them messing up this job...very sad. :(

I called this company because the house lost the power in 2 rooms, when the guy from Mister Sparky arrived saw a breaker burned and wanted to upgrade the electrical system of the whole house; that was the only option. The budge is around $5,600.00, there was no other option; when I asked him over phone for other options (because I was working), he was rude, also he tried to manipulate my wife with photos of his children, talking about a possible fire. He cut the power of all house and left. My wife had to go out in order to buy lunch for her and my daughter. When my wife was going out from the subdivision the Mister Sparky guy was outside with the vans waiting something (maybe an explosion in my house). For prevention I called another guy to check everything before put the power back. The other technician (from different company) asked to Georgia Power to cut the power outside the house, then he was able to replace the panel and Done!. Problem gone!. Georgia Power put the power back and thats it. COST: $600 vs $5,600 than Mister Sparky wanted to charge me. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!, look for another option.

R I P O F F A R T I S T S .. The guy came in to give me an appraisal for adding a charging outlet for my electric car.. The estimate was $7,500 including $2600.00 for new smoke alarms. He lied to me and claimed that I needed a wired in smoke alarm in each bedroom. Battery powered alarms dont count he said.. He also said: Not my fault. Thats the county. Funny, a 5 minute google search took me to Forsyth countys website and confirmed that the 2 existing detectors located OUTSIDE the sleep area are according to code. Battery powered units are fine too. Heres the actual requirement: Smoke detector systems. Each occupied dwelling unit shall be required to contain at least one (1) approved operable smoke detector installed outside each sleeping area on, or near the ceiling. The detector shall be electrically or battery operated and provide an audible alarm. The term operable is defined as being when a working battery is installed in the detector or the electricity is on. The occupant head of household is responsible for maintaining a lawful source of electricity.

I had a tree fall on the electric line outside my house. It broke the electric line and pulled the wire inside my house. I needed to have an electrician check it out before the electricity was reconnected to my house. A technician from Mr. Sparky came over. I think it took about two or so hours for them to come over. To look at my system, it cost $200. The overall estimate for work was $2100 for re-wiring, a new weatherhead, and something else that I cant remember. $2100!!!!!!! A neighbor suggested his electrician instead. His electrician said that I didnt need new wire or anything else that the tech from Mr. Sparky said I would need. I saved $2000 by not calling Mr. Sparky to fix the wiring in my house. I wish that I had saved the $200 by not calling them at all.

I am a new Georgian and needed a plug changed to hook up my gas dryer. The technician, Roland, was nice enough. I had disconnected the power and pulled the machines away from the wall prior to his arrival. He finished in about 3 minutes. Yes three minutes. $149. You have got to be kidding me. My bad though. Should have got the number first from him and/or asked him to remove the plug and changed it myself. Had a quote from them to run a gas line. $789....ended up doing it (with the same materials TREK piping) for less than $200. These repairmen are paid commission. You dont buy they dont make anything. Personally dont agree with commissions for service person. Really leads to gouging.

Used them about a year ago. I still feel sick about it. I needed the wiring behind the smoke alarms checked and possibly cleaned up and a light switch moved over about 3 inches. They charged me around 700-800 dollars and all he did was take the wire connector off and put it on the new smoke alarms. I saw him do it and was in disbelief. It was an extremely expensive lesson that I learned. The worse part was that it was for about 30 minutes of work. Seriously, dont use them. I know I never will again. I give 2 stars because while it was expensive, absurdly expensive, the work was done efficiently and the employee was polite. Politeness doesnt make up for price gouging however.

Wonderful. We have had a few problems with the wiring in our home from a previous owners attempts at installing various lighting and ceiling fans. One fan was 22 high and needed replaced along with the outlet. Ian Weaver was fantastic. He called before arriving, was on time, professional and courteous. He installed the fan, replaced the outlet and all is well. Mr. Sparky was great prior to the install. They were the only electrician that spoke with me about the difficulties with installing a fan at this height, gave me a quote over the phone and stood by their assessments. Thank you!
