I was referred by a friend, and will be referring others to the friendly, professional and honest staff at Tri-Star. I went to Tri-Star for a second opinion on service that was recommended by the dealership. Though my SUV has been running well, the dealership said that I should replace the cars steering column and rear struts. These recommendations were made via a phone call when I had my car in for a standard oil change, tire rotation and brake pad replacement. Those suggestions were a surprise to me, so I said that I needed to research the repairs. To be fair, when I picked up the car, the service rep said that I had some time for the recommended repairs. The extended warranty recently expired on my 08 Lexus RX350, and I cant help but wonder if the dealer thought I might be interested in trading in my car given the age of the car and cost of repairs. After an inspection, Tri-Star said that they would not have considered the current wear on those parts to need repair. The car is in great overall condition, and Im thankful for an honest opinion from Tri-Star. I was not interested in buying a new car at this time, and I will be taking my car to Tri-Star for service.

Tri Star was recommended by a friend when I was having trouble with my 96 Suburban, after the experience .. VERY positive .. we started taking all the vehicles to them. We live 50 miles NE of Tyrone, an hour drive each way to the shop .. but would not consider having work done anywhere else. The last shop visit was for a 94 Explorer with Transmission issue .. the slipping problem was consistent with the need for a $2000+ rebuild, but they recommended a filter and fluid change to see if that corrected the problem before we went down the $$$$ road .. it did .. and saved $1900. This Spring my 97 Dodge Intrepid died in the driveway .. loaded it up on a car carrier with the Suburban and drove to Tri Star. I was expecting a Mass Flow Sensor problem or Ignition Module .. or worse .. nope, a dead spark plug (changed them all) and a new set of ignition wires. They are Great People and as a shade tree mechanic myself .. they are the only ones that will work on the vehicles .. except me. Worth the drive from anywhere ....

Tri Star Automotive has been working on my cars five or six years. Until recently I have owned old cars with lots of miles believing that it is cheaper to fix problems then make car payments. The repairs they have preformed for me have included starters, alternators, coils, belt, plugs, sensors, AC, oil leaks, oil pan and many others. The only issue I have ever had with their work was a part that they ordered from Nissan quit working after a week. Tri Star paid for the towing and replaced the part with a new one for no additional charge. Most of the repairs take less than one day and the bill has never been more than what they have quoted me. Most of the time I use their ride service or borrow one of their loner cars for the day. Their shop is clean and the waiting area is small but comfortable. The staff is friendly, professional and not pushy.

I read the reviews of this place before going and I called and spoke with Andrew Sambucci and he was the person I ended up dealing with once I arrived and I received nothing but fast and friendly service from these guys. They are like a family there so you cant go wrong with whomever you deal with. I went to them because I recently purchased a used vehicle and I wanted to get it checked over and being a female I was skeptical and I must say this is the best experience Ive had with an automotive place. I left there with assurance that my vehicle is safe and knowledgeable about my vehicle. These guys provided me with professional service all the way and did not try to screw me in the process. Andrew actually saved me money and time and did not try to upsell me on services I didnt need. Andrew rocks!

DO NOT GO HERE. I have been blatantly taken advantage of twice in less than a week: I paid 160$ to have a used car checked out by them, they said it looked great but needed rear tires done at $180. I take it in for tires, they said it would cost $340. That week the brakes were making a funny sound and they said theyd fix it for free. I take the car in and the manager asks me if Id had trouble starting the car. I said no, and he tells me it wont start, needs a new starter at $200+ which he "graciously" sold to me at $193. I asked to have the car jumped instead and he said he couldnt do it. They charged me $454.23 MORE than they said they would. Next time Ill bring a condom when they try to **** me.

Im not sure how this company received such a positive rating. I paid them to check out a used car I was buying and they said it would have $300 worth of repairs. After I bought the car, I took it back to their shop and they said it would cost a few hundred dollars more. I was irritated, and while I was waiting in the waiting area, they said they "discovered more problems" on someone elses car who was waiting as well. Long story short, I ended up paying them around $1000 after they quoted me at around $300. The repairs they made the first time were inadequate and their lack of transparency and obvious attempts at taking advantage of me are dispicable.

Brought my subaru in because the A/C was not running cold all the time. They basically couldnt find the problem, recharged the system, checked for leaks, and identified a potential issue with the car according to a database lookup that would cost ~$500 to fix, but might not resolve the problem. They charged me $160. Within a few weeks the A/C no longer put out any cold air. I brought to another mechanic and he ran a pressure and leak test, replaced the low side schrader valve, A/C relay, and performed a partial charge to fix the problem for $108. . I wasted $160 at Tri Star Automotive and will not be going back there.

I have been using this company for 10 years and they are a wonderful company. I had a situation with one of my vehicles and the cost to repair it was amounting to hundreds of dollars. The owner, Mark, called me after I had told them to go ahead with the repairs and after they had completed the work. He told me that the cost would be -0-. He told me that it was their fault from something that had been done before by them, and I owed nothing! They could have charged me and I would never had known, but that just goes to show me that they are an honest company with integrity. I really appreciate their services.

Do not recommend! Took our vehicle in to have a fluid leak checked and they quoted us a whole laundry list of things that needed service. Trying to sell my wife on service (brakes) that was just done 2 months prior. And the prices were very high on those "up sell" services. 2 Brake pads and rotors turned for $550. Come on, that is typically under $200 per axle. Transmission fluid drain and fill quoted at $289 which is double the market price. I could go on, but you get the point. Told them we would come pick up the vehicle and not to do anything. $84 for their diagnostic fees to get our car back.
