I called 5 transmission shops to get a quote of a transmission rebuild as I was already aware that my vehicle will need a in-depth repair so it would best to rebuild the transmission considering the age and mileage on the vehicle. Three local transmission shops and two AAMCO franchise locations. The prices ranged between $1600 - $2100 for the repair and one of the AAMCO locations refused to give me even an idea of the rebuild cost. A couple of the local shops promised their price was firm so it would not go up after they started the work. That is what I was looking for, I didnt want to be put in a compromising position after the transmission was all taken apart and then only to be told the repair would cost several hundred more. So after talking to all the shops I immediately removed the one AAMCO (not this one) shop that wanted to inspect it first and only provided a 12 month 12k mile warranty from my list as they did not even want to discuss costs... just wanted me to bring it so they can inspect it. Surprisingly, this AAMCO shop (9880 Main street) was very upfront and honest about the work and gave me ballpark figure and also told me that the price could go about $100 either way and provided a 24month 24k mile warranty in the price. Apparently not all AAMCO locations are the same. After doing more on-line research and review reading I found that this AAMCO was not the cheapest but was the best choice for me as I wanted a quality rebuild and a good national warranty. The location manager here (Mauri) was very knowledgeable, experienced and professional. He communicated with me in a timely fashion, I had to call back only once for final quote and status but he had it all ready and explained the charges and completed the work in a very timely manner. All in all, Im glad I chose this shop for the work. I may have gotten a slightly better deal at a local shop but this shop gave me the peace of mind with a national warranty. I would recommend this shop to friends and family.

In the past, I have used Aamca. They were great. This location is terrible. I dropped my car off Wednesday afternoon for a transmission flush and to change the fuel filter. I was told someone would call me back and let me know status. I called late Wednesday because no one called me back. I was annoyed that I had to call them. During my call, I learned that they could not change the fuel filter without significant expense because the manufacturer changed the 2008 model and the quote given to me was on the 2007 model. Mind you, all this information is at their finger tips and they should have told me this when I dropped it off. So now, its Thursday, and no one is calling me to let me know when my car is done. So, once again, I am calling them for an update. At 3:00, they tell me my car will not be done until 5:30. I said NO WAY. I need my car tonight (mind you they had it for over 24 hours for a simple transmission flush). I said I need my car by 5. They call me at 4:55 letting me know it is ready. I had a 6:00 appointment on the other side of town I needed to make. I pull up at 5:00 (this particular station is walking distance from my office). My car is NOT done. At 5:15, a tech pulls it out of the garage and has to test drive it. I dont have time to wait as I have an appointment across town. I leave the shop at 5:30 (with NO CAR). I tell them to leave my car outside and I will get it later that night. I specifically let them know I have a spare ket and for them to keep a key. I will get it the next day. Well, my appointment went later than normal, so I could not get my car. I go Friday morning to pick it up. Turns out, they left my car outside WITH THE KEY IN IT UNLOCKED!!!! Someone could have easily stolen my car. And do you think they cared? NO: they said "boy, we got lucky, huh?" Of course, if someone stole the car, they would find someone to blame- me. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. They are a rip off, dont complete work in a timely manner, and are rude.

4-30-15: This issue occured over the course of April 2015. I will give their single tech some credit- He knows what he is doing. BUT, he is the ONLY tech there at this time which makes it near impossible for him to get cars done with any speed. I had to have my trans completely rebuilt in Florida and there was an issue with it. I brought the car into this location as it is the closest to work and home for me. This was within a week of having the trans completely rebuilt. I have dropped it off and had to pick it up over the course of 4 weeks (each time they have had the car for 3+ days and they never worked on it any of these times). Each time I have left the car I have had to be the one to contact them to ask for updates. I never get calls from them with any sort of updates and I feel like they just do not have time to care. The first time I got a call from this show was when I finally left a 2 star review. This is when they told me just tome get the car and they did not want to deal with my car. I spent $2600 with Aamco and I feel like they just do not care at all about it. I will be taking the issue up to the corporate level but since each shop is independent all I can say is that this location needs to be avoided.
