Got a storage locker here. James is good. Josie is o.k. but they company has a bad computer payment system. When you have, them swipe your bank/debit/credit card, the system will charge you for the current month/rent AND THE NEXT MONTHS RENT. This is the 2nd time over the last 4 or 5 years. Once the error is immediately discovered, no one knows how to correct the issue. So the staff has to have someone else where reverse the whole trans action, not just the overcharge. Then then need to do a new transaction for your current rent. The result is, you’re stuck with the reversed incorrect charge billed to you bank card, and Safeguard people blaming your bank. So, I suggest NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR BANK/DEBIT/CREDIT CARD TO SWIPE!!!! In fact, you should do ALL payments online. Update (05/20/17). It seems Gill did this as a REFUND, which will NOT go back to my account for 3 to 5 business days (not including weekends). As Chase Bank said, this should have been done as a VOIDED transaction. Then it would have been immediate, or as his email to me said, by the end of day. Unfortunately, I feel that the flippant attitude of "oh well, just accept it." is how the correcting of miss-billing or overcharging is with Gill. Because of this overcharge, who will pay the overdrafts in my account caused by this? Not safeguard... from what I gather. Would they reduce or credit to my account/rent next month? Nope. They follow the golden rule. “He who has the gold, makes the rules.” Once they have your money... they never give it back. The physical facility is not the issue here, or the persons on site. The real problem is the person (Gill) who tried to correct the problem of the overcharge from the antiqued accounting program they have. The program they use automatically populates/applies the next month’s rent when you go to do a payment for the current month. When Gill tried to correct this (as on site people cannot do this), he did this as a Refund and NOT A VOID. As a refund, this has tied up $427.20 of my money while they got in addition to this, the rent for my storage locker for 3 to 5 business day (this does not include the weekend/s or Holidays). As a VOID, it would have been instantly (or the latest, by end of Friday May19TH) returned to my account as per CHASE Bank. At this point, I will not see this hit my account till Wednesday May 24TH the soonest (being optimistic) or Friday May 26TH (again being optimistic) Latest, May 30TH (as Monday, May 29TH is Memorial Day)!!!

I have personally rented a storage unit in the past and and my company has also rented a unit at the Safeguard Self Storage in Arlington Heights for the last 7 years. We have continued to use the storage because we know that it will be a clean, safe and temperature controlled environment for our documents and supplies. The staff could not be any nicer. I have dealt with James Spears, the Manager at this location for the last 5 years and he is awesome! He will assist you in any way that he can. Alex is also on the staff and she is an asset to Safeguard. If you want a clean, no rodent, storage facility, this is the place to go! You will not be sorry.

Ive rented a unit in the past and present at this Safeguard Self Storage in Arlington Heights many time in the last 10 years. Every time when i need a storage I always keep on coming back to this SF in AH cause I know that it will be a clean, safe and doesnt smell like other place . I have dealt with Nick then James, both Manager at this location for the past 10 years, the experience have been Extremely wonderful and noting but the best!!! Recommend many friends and family to this place, You can go wrong with SF in AH

Not all storage facilities are created equal. This could quite possibly be the cleanest, most accessible and best priced facility Ive ever seen. Not only are the employees super friendly but they leave carts for their clients to help them move items from their cars (which can be housed in inclement weather but there is no sign of dirt, webs or any debris to be found. So in closing, great staff, facility and prices. What else can you ask for?
