My Honda Odyssey just stopped abruptly this morning right in front of this facility and I walked in to get it checked up. The front desk person was very courteous and he even helped me push the car into the parking lot. I was told that they would run a diagnosis on the check engine light and would charge me for the diagnosis if I choose not to get the work done by them, and would waive the fee otherwise. However after they checked up the car, they found some issue with the engine not performing well as it was locked out. They provided me with some options for repair, but I chose to send my van to the Honda dealership as I had some warranty left on the car. Upon asking on what to pay for the service, they said not to worry about it and extended the same courtesy to return my vehicle as the first time I walked in to their shop. I really appreciate the their professionalism and honesty in what they do .. and they sure do it the best ! For sure , from this time on, all of my cars will be going this shop. Thanks folks !

This place is a rip off and staffed with incompetent mechanics. I had taken my car for replacing brake pads. During inspection, they said that nothing was wrong with the brakes. Instead they replaced suspension parts and charged me $600. After around 2 months, I started getting noise from rear back driver side wheels. I took it to another shop and they said that my rotor is damaged beyond re-surfacing. I had to replace pads and rotor and spend another $400. The rotor replacement could have been avoided had Merlins diagonized it correctly during the inspection. I think most of their mechanics are inexperienced and lack training. Never take your car to this place, you never know what they do. Sometimes their faulty repair can cause accident as could have been my case. So avoid taking your vechicle to Merlins auto repair shop, Aurora, East New York street location.

We have been taking all our vehicles to this Merlin Shop for many years. They are VERY honest....and we have recommended several friends to them over the years. We have had nothing but positive experiences with them....if they say something needs to be done, we believe them. They are friendly, efficient, courteous, and quick. Chris, Joe, and their whole crew are very wonderful to work with. They always warranty their work and their parts. One day, I went in for something else and they mentioned that the windshield wipers needed to be replaced. I told them they had just done them a few months before--they checked their records--and put on a new set (of even higher quality) and charged me nothing. They are great!

Great place! I was so lucky to have found this place when I moved here. Service is fantastic and they dont try to sell you on things you dont need. They are honest. I cant tell you how many other oil change places Ive been to where they tried to up charge me because they assume I dont know cars because Im a woman. This place is trustworthy, honest, and friendly. The manager Joe is always smiling and treats everyone that walks in like family. As long as Im in the area, I wont take my car, or my husbands car, anywhere else.

On a Monday night my check engine light came on and my car was very "loud." I commute to DeKalb every day and had class at NIU at 11AM on Tuesday. I went to Merlin when they opened on Tuesday morning and they got me in right away. They diagnosed the problem and had me out of there in time to get to school so I didnt miss my class. They were very helpful and took great care of the situation. I will definitely go back.

I went in for an oil change and alignment, thinking that I would receive service as good as the Merlin near my old house, but left with a leaking oil filter, knocking valves, a loose door panel, and the car still pulled slightly to the right. They sold me on new brakes and rotors, which I did need, yet not as badly as they claimed. We will be driving the six miles to go back to the location in Naperville.

I have been going here for over 7 years. I pass by 2 other Merlin locations to go this one. Yes its further away but they are honest and very helpful. A few times I brought my car in to check on a noise. Joe told me it is not a safety issue and does not need to get fixed now. Many other places would not say that but just take your money. Kevin and Joe are great! Give them a try if you havent already.

Ive been to this Merlins several times and theyve always been very up front and fair with me. Theyve gone above and beyond for me twice now, which is what prompted this review. They are awesome and my #1 choice whenever I need work done on my car that I cant do myself. Id definitely recommend this place to friends/family.

They did what they were supposed to, but did not catch something important that needed addressing. Just from observing the mechanic, I would have to agree with another review "I think most of their mechanics are inexperienced and lack training". Communication and customer service was friendly and courteous tho.

What a blessing to find a place to service my car that I trust. They tell me what I need, what needs done now and what can wait. The staff is very friendly and respectful. The shop is clean and the prices are reasonable. They do what they say and get it done when they say they will. I love this place!

Friendly, honest, reliable. I was referred by a friend and no longer take my car any place else. Clean waiting area, within walking distance of places to eat & shop while you wait...or theyll shuttle you home. Great service (pun intended ;))
