After waking up to the smell of burning plastic and finding out our furnace was no longer working I began searching Yelp for local heating companies I could call. I couldnt look past Armbrust. Not only was it local to Wheaton but it had absolutely amazing reviews. I called in the morning to set up an appointment fully expecting it would be at least a day. Not only were they able to fit me in that day, they were able to do it mid day! I was already impressed but then they sent me an email with information about the service man making the call which included a photo and I was super impressed that they take the time to do that. Jeff showed up right on time and even called when on his way to alert me. He was friendly, informative and helpful while explaining the issues he found and even showed me the issues first hand. When it came down to fixing the multiple items or researching a replacement Jeff provided me with the necessary options and information to make a decision. He made calls to check on available warranties and requested the salesman John to stop by as well. John came out and provided me with a great deal of information. At no point did I feel pressured to purchase. After discussion my husband we chose to spend the money on a new furnace rather than pouring more money into the broken one. They were able to get us the one we wanted AND have it installed same week. We only had to make it one day without heat before our new furnace would be installed. I was told David would be the person installing our new furnace and he would arrive around 730. Just like Jeff, David called when he was on his way and arrived right on time. He walked me through the process and provided an estimate time for completion. Throughout the process he checked in just to report his status. At one point he called me in to decide on the venting options. He walked me through the different options and ultimately left it to me to decide. When he completed the job he showed me how to change the filters and explained all the new parts which were installed. The day he installed our new furnace was a day we had high wind advisories. When he was packing himself up he informed me that there had been a lot of debris flying around outside. He walked around the perimiter of the house with me and even helped me clean up the shingles that had blown off my roof! Talk about customer service. I would absolutely recommend this team to friends and family.

Our water heater quit working at 3am this morning - the day before Thanksgiving! After done some initial cleanup, I called Armbrust Plumbing at 7am to make an appointment. They asked helpful questions to get started on figuring out how to get it fixed. They then gave me a rough estimate of cost, and let me know more or less when I could expect someone the same day - so I wasnt worried that I would be stuck without hot water for the holidays!. Patrick called to confirm the time, address and what the problem was. He arrived soon after and he walked me through what he was going to do (it always helps to know what to expect). He then prepared the area and got to work. It was all done in just over an hour. He then walked me through all the things I needed to know and gave some helpful tips about general use. Patrick was super-helpful and a really nice guy. When he was done, he cleaned up the area (when he left it was as if he was never here - except now we had hot water again) and took care of billing. Nobody likes to get an unplanned bill like this, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The service was fast, clean and at a fair cost - I couldnt ask for more. Thank you Patrick for helping us get this unexpected problem fixed quickly so we can enjoy the holidays. This is my second time using Armbrust Plumbing and again the results were great. Of course I hope I dont have any more plumbing problems, but if I do, I am glad to know a reliable, reasonable plumbing company like Armbrust.

During a power outage, our whole house generator didnt start. I had no prior experience with Armbrust, but called them as they are local. I got a quick call back from Patrick, who had a few questions about the model (20RESA) to enable him to order parts. He told me up front that he was doing this to be sure he had any parts he might need when he stopped out. After spending about 3 and a half hours on site, Patrick had the generator running again. The problem in my systems case was a slippage in the carb choke lever that prevented the valves from opening properly. That wasnt an easy thing to find -- but Patrick stuck with it. In the process of troubleshooting, he also replaced the spark plugs, checked the battery, valves and air filter. He also updated the firmware. I was only charged for the labor and the $13 plugs. He took back the extra parts that he didnt need to replace. He also worked with me a bit on the price, giving me a discount on the labor due to the time involved. That was pretty generous. In the end, the unit is fixed. I thoroughly understand what failed. I was only charged for parts and time I used. I feel good about Armbrust and would recommend them.

Ive used them for years for plumbing and they have always done a neat and thorough job. We recently had them install a new variable speed furnace. We were a bit hesitant at first, after hearing from a friend how much another contractor charged them for their installation. They showed us various brands and manufacturers, taking the extra time to help us understand the differences; which really helped put me at ease. I know nothing about furnaces, and while getting quotes they were the only one who took the time to answer all our questions patiently and in a way I understood. Thanks to their advice we found an Amana furnace that fit our budget and we went for it. Ive got to say I couldnt be more happy with the results! After years of struggling to control our houses temperature its finally even everywhere. Its nice to know there is a contractor that still cares enough to listen to my concerns and makes recommendations based on MY need; and not theirs. Once again, theyve proven to me that they really know their stuff. Ill never go anywhere else.

I called in the morning about drains backing up in the bathroom and kitchen. While on the phone setting up the appointment they let me know who would be showing up (Tom H in my instance) and sent me a picture so I would know it was him. Tom showed up and got right to it. He quickly figured out the issue with the bathroom sink, let me know what it was and why it was creating the problem, then fixed it and moved onto the kitchen sink. 4 months prior we had another company come out to clear the pipes for the kitchen sink. It was now backing up again. The last company took a guess as to what the problem was and thought it was fixed when they left. Tom realized it was something else (hes been at Armbrust a long time so hes seen a lot of different issues) and fixed it quickly. Tom was in and out in about an hour. He was really friendly, quick, and clean. The only reason you could tell he was here was because our drains worked again! Ill definitely call Armbrust for any future plumbing issues and ask for Tom.
