I used Bernard Movers last week. I have to say the movers were very polite and fun to work with but I honestly would not use them again because they broke one of my flat screen TVs. They charge you $38 to package each flat screen TV. I was told over the phone they would be wrapped in bubble wrap in put into a secure box. They actually used pieces of picture frame cardboard and taped them together to make a box and place over my tv. I asked one of the movers if that was safe and he said completely and the way the would be placed in the truck was the safest option. Well one of the movers dropped my 55" Samsung tv and he said it did not fall that bad and should be ok. When I got to my new apartment we unwrapped my TV and the whole screen was shattered. They told me it would be replaced but did not give me any detailed information. When it came time to pay the bill they were still going to charge me almost $70 for the two boxes used for my TV even though their boxes werent secure. I also asked what was the process for getting my TV replaced. The movers told me I would have to talk to management back at the office. I was not even mad at the mover who dropped my TV because mistakes do happen but it was how their office handled it after it happened. One of the movers had notified their boss that the TV broke while they were still on the clock moving my items. I called the office 7 times while the movers were still at my place, they did not pick up ANY of my phone calls. On Yelp it states their office is open from 7AM-8PM on Saturday but no one picked up my call. I had one of the movers call on his phone and they picked up IMMEDIATELY. I had to use one of the movers phone to speak to the manager Greg who was very unprofessional. He did not even apologize for what had happened. I asked him when my TV was going to replaced. He told me I would be getting a check in the mail for it in a week. I was like ok for how much and I want that in writing on my receipt. The movers said they could not write they were going to replace it on my receipt and were trying to get me to pay. I told them Im not paying until have complete information on how Im getting a new TV. Also, I dont feel comfortable paying you if you are not going to add that information to my receipt. The office does not pick up my phone calls so how am I going to follow up with them to get a new TV. Basically they offered I did not have to pay them in exchange for breaking my TV. I still do not agree with this settlement but I didnt believe I would be able to get in contact with the office after the movers left to receive a replacement for my TV. They sent me a check for me to replace my TV.

Our moving experience started out horribly! We had booked a moving company that bailed on us. My husband was very clear with the amount of items being moved, clearly stated that we lived in a walk three flat in Chicago, and expressed all of our needs with this move. They only sent two men (which were shady looking to begin with), and they took one look at our place and said they couldnt move us! What?! We literally had slowly moved most of our belongings out to our new house, so we only had a couch, coffee table, media console, dining room table, bookshelves, two beds, a dresser, a crib, a closet, and 12 boxed up boxes. They said they couldnt do it and walked out on us! We were so upset! We had a four month old baby…my husband and I had requested off of work and planned everything around us moving that day! We complained to the movers association and they connected us to Lynn. That is when everything became magical. Lynn was amazing! She took care of us, she scheduled movers for the next day, at 8am…what a lifesaver! We were so grateful, but it didnt just end there. The movers came the next day, promptly at 8am. They were professional, dressed in uniform, and so kind! They looked at our place and thought it was going to be a breeze. Phew! It was so stressful for us up to this point! They were on it! They assessed the place and went to work. They were efficient, strategic, and fast. They were gentle with our items, broke everything down, and wrapped everything up. They moved us out to the burbs and it was like they took our stuff from Chicago, waved a wand, and presto…it was perfectly placed in our house. Nothing was damaged, they reassembled everything back together. They were funny, social, and laid back. Their names are Marvin, Dean, and Armando! We highly recommend them! We are so thankful for Lynn, Marvin, Dean, and Armando from Bernard Movers. They were so wonderful and amazing through a very tough and stressful time in our lives! Thank you so much!

Bernard movers rescued me from a terrible situation today. I was moving from a one bedroom apartment back to my family home and thought I would be able to find a deal for movers through a discount site. Unfortunately, I was jerked around, kept getting rescheduled and, after taking the day off of work, was left in the lurch this afternoon. Based on my brothers suggestion - he has had several seamless moves thanks to Bernard - I called to see if they could possibly fit me in today. Right away, Lynn put me at ease, explained how using licensed and accredited movers really does make all the difference and also was very transparent about all processes, pricing and possible charges. My movers, Rusty and Mondo were a godsend. They arrived about an hour after I had talked to Lynn, were extremely professional and moved my bedroom and living room sets quickly and efficiently. Right off the bat, I could tell that they were honest and trustworthy - such a relief after a very stressful few days. I will definitely be recommending Bernard Movers to my friends and family and looking to them for future moves. Thanks so much for being the bright spot in this very trying day!

Over the last thirty years I have relocated or moved more times than I can count. Therefore imagine my surprise and delight to work with the consummate professionals at Bernard Movers. Lynn, the office manager responded promptly to my emails and phone calls throughout the preparation period. I was grateful for her great assistance. The greatest astonishment occurred on the afternoon of the move. First they were able to come earlier than we expected and then Marvin, Josh and Juan showed up. I was thoroughly impressed with Marvin professionalism, honesty and workmanship from Josh and Juan. Not one item moved was broken or scratched including an incredibly heavy Amish crafted King-sized bed. These men worked diligently with my items like they belonged personally to them with care and concern. To my disbelief the estimate established that day was spot on correct. The men did not leave a mess, they were kind, considerate and accommodating making certain that I was a satisfied customer. Gold stars for Bernard Movers and my next move is a “no-brainer” who I will use!

Bernard Movers moved my parents from my house in Geneva, IL to Vero Beach, Florida. They were great from beginning to finish. We checked out a lot of movers and even some brokers. It was difficult if not impossible to find a mover with good feedback. Bernard Movers was a little on the higher side for price but you get what you pay for. I did not want a mover where there would be any problems since my parents are elderly and cannot deal with any stress. Bernard Movers made it stress free. They were very careful loading things and took great care to make sure that everything we packed would make it in one piece. Two weeks later everything arrived in Vero Beach, FL and nothing was damaged. They were professional and courteous and there were no hidden charges. Many of the other movers may have been cheaper but complaints included broken items and hidden charges. So at the end of the day when you take all things into consideration they deserve an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
