I have to write this review because of what happened to us. First, Keyway Lock and Security is AWESOME! They quoted us a price, and once the work was completed, it actually cost less! It was Saturday evening, and my wife locked the keys in the car. We searched Discount locksmiths in the area and got a company called discount locksmith. They quoted us $275 over the phone to come out and make a duplicate key. After services were rendered, they changed the price to $400. I told the guy that I was quoted $275, and because of the quote, Im not paying more. This guy gave me all kinds of attitude. He over talked me, got belligerent, and threatened to not give me our keys. I called the police, and when they arrived, a few words were exchanged between them and the next thing I knew they arrested the guy. The policeman informed us that there are a lot of scammers who inflate the price, once services are rendered and that it was a huge problem. I never knew this. He then told us that we needed a "licensed locksmith". Thats when we found Keyway Lock and Security. They are licensed locksmiths in Chicago. They too quoted us an estimate of $225 but since I was a bit nervous about price inflating, I asked if the price could go up. They indicated that if it did, it would only be in the range of $10-$20. Jim the technician arrived 15 minutes later and was very pleasant and professional. He understood what we needed, and got it done! In the end, our charges came to $199!! So we actually paid lower than their quote. What a huge difference between these two companies. Thank You Keyway for a job well done!!

Hey Folk I thought my luck was out on me today. I had 4 broken locks and three bad keys. It was a big headache to change everything out with the bad weather starting. I called keyway key and steve answered away. I explained to him my problem. And as always is said come in we will take of you. I got to the store and they looked at the locks. They could have tried to sell me new locks and rip me off. but instead as always they kept the customer in mind and took care of me. They rekey them with a fair price and fixed the locks for me for and made new keys for me without a problem it only took about 20 minutes as always these guys are the best. I have been coming to these guys for the last few years Im glad I found them they are the best.

Taiwan was super friendly! Arrived on-time when I locked myself out after I lost my keys. The initial key-making process was quick, but Taiwan ran into troubles with what was suspected to be some microchip issues with my model. Despite the extra work, Taiwan worked tirelessly to contact Honda as well as Geico, making sure my problem was solved all in the same night. He was super friendly the whole time and was obviously very willing to help me with whatever needs I had! He even scraped off the wax from the towing company that Ive had on my car for months. Overall super friendly and dedicated service! Id recommend Taiwan to anybody who has car problems!

I was in a pinch 300 miles from home on a Sunday night of a holiday weekend. Dropped my keys down an elevator shaft with half my earthly belongings locked in the car. Car is parked in super expensive max 2 hours parking. Called AAA and several locksmiths and no one could help. Many said theyd call back and never did. Keyway came and saved the day and made me a programmed remote key so I didnt have to go to the stealership for one later. In fact, the problem was completely solved when they were done. Taiwan was amazing and super helpful and professional. Cant recommend this place enough!

I left my car keys out of town and KeyWay came through in the clutch for me. I called at 10pm the prior night to let them know that I left my car keys in another city and I was surprised when I got a live person to talk to. Not only did someone answer but they were personable and reassured that I had nothing to worry about. They promised to be at the airport by 10:30am and they showed up at 10:28am. It only took them 15 minutes to create a new car key for me and send me on my way. I would highly recommend Keyway for your locksmith services.

I had occasion to use the services of Keyway Lock and Security again over the past weekend. Like the last time, their response was rapid, the service excellent and the pricing was very fair. I was locked out of my car and was far away from home. I was resigned to a long wait but was delightfully surprised that the locksmith arrived within 30 minutes. I was able to recover my key and be on my way within one hour. Thank you Steve for your service. I highly recommend you to all.

Steve and crew did a great job at making me an extra key for my Subaru Tribeca. They had to order the key blank as it had the remote control in the key and once it came in they promptly called me to bring the car in. Once I brought the car in, they quickly cut the key and programmed it to work with the car and saved me 33% off what the dealer wanted for the same key. I would definitely recommend Steve and crew if you need a new lock or key for you car!

I lost my Key Fob to my Nissan Murano, I contacted the dealer who informed me that it would be $360.00. I googled key fob replacement and Keyway Lock and Security immediately came up and I am so glad that it did. I took my car in and within 10 minutes I had my fob at a 3rd of the price! I was so excited. My work was done professionally in very little time, Keyway is where I will be going from now on and I will tell all of my friends and co--workers!

If i could give this place a zero i would!! I called for a locksmith, keys left in the ignition of the car they told me 45 min to a hour, an hour later they said 15 minutes 3 hours later theyre still telling me 15 minutes!! Horrible horrible place, please save yourself the headache and go elsewhere!! Never will i do business with them or let anyone i know do business with them!! Shameful waste of space!!

After a frightening occurrence, a few days ago, Jake was dispatched and got the job done, restoring peace of mind and a sense of security. Called Keyway Lock and they came within the hour and were quickly able to get me in my car and make a new key. The price was very fair and there were no surprise charges.
