TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Absolutely no customer service - I dont know if its because they are busy or if the office is just disorganized, but rarely would the shop call me with an update or estimate the same day I dropped my car off - even for minor issues. You will not get a courtesy call here, nor will you get an update at the end of the day. I cant think of a single time they called me before I ended up calling them (the next day) to get an update or an estimate. Work is shoddy - Almost every time I brought my car in, I had to bring it back because the original problem hadnt, in fact, been fixed. Once the original problem came back within 5 minutes of driving it away from the shop! Very aggravating. I finally stopped going to them a few months ago after a particularly frustrating experience. I will never go here again - I only regret that it took me so long to switch to a new mechanic.

I have had a great experience with Automotive Services Inc in Downers Grove. Everyone is friendly and honest. I had my car inspected at a local dealer and was sent home with a long list of things that "needed to be done" and a huge estimate. I brought my car in and Roger told me exactly what was necessary and what was not. Some things the dealer had mentioned where in perfect condition! You cannot put a price on honesty. They are always happy to answer any questions I may have and are always willing to work around my busy schedule. I was even given a ride home while my car was being serviced. My family and I have brought in our vehicles over the past few years and have always been satisfied with their work and pricing. I highly recommend them.

Roger and Jeff run a great shop. Ive gone to other repair shops and they always overprescribe work to be done. Theyll do things like suggest I replace the rotors on my brakes, when they only need turning (be machined down to appropriate smoothness). Theres an old saying, "Never take your car to a bored mechanic." This shop definitely doesnt have bored mechanics sitting around. They could easily suggest work that doesnt need to be done, but theyve never, ever done anything like that to me. Their work has always been good, and theyve made sure to shop around for parts. They even took the time to call a few junkyards for me about a piece of missing trim - hardly something theyd make $$ off of. I wont go anywhere else.

My family members and I have taken our vehicles to Automotive Service for years. We have found the guys (especially Jeff and Roger) to be cordial, helpful and professional each time we drop off, or pick up our cars. I am not sure about some comments from other reviewers that suggest poor workmanship, because their performance is consistently of high quality. Its very nice to have a home-town garage in Downers Grove; being taken care of by these gents helps make the village feel a little bit more homey.

Could not recommend a better place to service/repair your car. We have used these guys for more than 10 years and always keep the costs down while doing excellent work. We told them about how my handicapped mothers car broke down and they went above and beyond to help us out. Not only did they get us a tow right away, they got the car done the same day at half the cost of what we expected. Good doing business with guys you do not have to worry about ripping you off.

I live 9 hours away from these guys. My Mazda broke down and I was in a very tough position. These guys did everything they could to help me get back on the road. It turned out the repairs were covered under warranty so they referred me to a real good Mazda dealer. They had checked the car out and even tried to rearrange their schedule for me without any charge. I would definitely recommend them.

I said before I would be bringing my auto repairs to Automotive Service Inc. And Once again. Roger and Jeff have helped me out of a jam. engine blew a seal and ran out of oil. Thought I had to replace the engine. Roger and Jeff were able to repair the engine in one day and came in below the estimate one more time! Again Outstanding service.

I am an extremely satisfied customer. Roger and Jeff are honest and very friendly. They never overcharge you. Unlike many other places they do not rob you by charging you for unnecessary or phony repairs. I have my domestic and foreign cars serviced and repaired by them for last 30 years.
