Took my car into today and have to honestly say some pretty bad customer service, I stopped by the day before to tell the service writer i would be dropping off the car the following day with all the concerns I had, 7 in total. Had to call for an update on my car when I talked to the guy he said he had to track down parts that where not available for 2 days, not a big deal but was never told what the part was. another concern was the service adviser told me that the fuel lines that were costly and he would rather repair them than replace them....thought i was the owner of the car let me make that call.....and the fuel lines are plastic what were you going to do epoxy them? for $250? no thank you. never priced out the parts of the gaskets leaking and the cost to replace them, told me my tires were dry rotted and needed to replace them i have goodyears on there now and you quote me some no name brand tires. once again i own the car let me choose what i want. granted my car needs repair if you dont want the business dont post the open sign on the window. as far as my check engine light being on and this "sniff test" you need to perform, I know DTCs are stored in the cars ECM those codes stored are for particular failure in a particular system, there are DTC maps you follow to rule out what is working and what is not its called the diagnostic process. and what about my ac concern? still wondering about that till this day. I believe that your shop lacks the knowledge to perform repairs as well as service staff to genuinely care and help their customers

I took my Ford Escape in for an oil change on 12/30/15. While at Merlins, the owner (Neil or Tesch Patel) told me that the vehicle needed new brakes and control arms. He said that the wheels on my car would fall off, leaving me stranded if the control arms weren’t repaired soon. He even showed me a picture on his phone of a car that had this problem stuck on the road. I wanted a second opinion, so the price got cheaper after I said “No”. I took the car to a service department at a professional dealership. The Service Advisor showed me the control arms and explained how they worked. He told me that nothing was wrong with them and the wheels would not fall off of the car. I took a thirteen year break from Merlins after they tried to overcharge me for breaks. With new ownership, I thought that I would try again--big mistake. Neil and Tesch Patel are friendly and personable, but they are dishonest and only want your money. They lie to your face. I would give this place zero stars if I could.

Ruined my transmission. Own a 1998 Honda, brought to dealer for major tune up and the dealer said that all the gears in my transmission seem to be going bad. Brought it over to AAMCO for a second opinion and they said the same thing. I ask how it was possible. They said someone could of put the wrong transmission fluid in the car. When the tech said that, light bulb came on and I remember this same Merlin shop recommended replacing the trans fluid and I said okay. I dont know for sure but am pretty sure they put the wrong trans fluid in my vehicle.

The last time I was their I took it in to fix my exhaust pipe. It had a huge hold and had to replace it. Thinking after a whole new one it wouldnt make any sound right. Well, no it still has a humming sound to it. While I was there I witnessed a fight between the manager and an employee. Right in the open. Right in front of me. They were swearing and screaming. They told me what else was wrong with my car, I told them Id take it somewhere else. Never again. Dont take your car their! They lie and just want your money.

I took my Jeep in gor a noise on the muffler wich was brand new,they told I need to replace everything and $1000..than they told me my radiator is leaking brand new also and in top of that they broke my plastic when they try to open my hood and they say they didnt do it..bs..the place dontt deserve a star..worst mechanics..oh I took the jeep somewhere else and it was a piece of metal lose $20 repair..stay away..

These people all what they had to do was an oil change and rotate tires, well , they did it wrong. They cross threated two of my wheel studs with the impact and the stud broke at the next rotation, plus all the other 38 lug nuts were over torqued! If you do not know how to use an impact do not use it, easy! Never coming back again!

RK87 Does Stuff
Bought a exhaust system from Merlins 5 years ago for $600. It is now rusted out and needs to be replaced. I had a warranty for 200,000 miles yet Merlin wants to charge me another $600 to do the work. Their warranty is worthless as are their mufflers. Do not use Merlins.

240,000 miles and going! Would highly recommend having your vehicle serviced here. The staff is very friendly, trustworthy & knowledgable. They are great at keeping you informed on preventative maintenance and have always done a great job on my car.

Just called for new tire quote. Though, they were unable to help find... They did recommend several of their competitors. Customer service on phone was better than in person at most places. Very pleased!

We were basically stuck at the shop with a broken down car and they took full advantage. $402 per quick strut when the average price on the net was around $160. They did do fast service but at what price?
