Never had a good experience at any Midas, this one was no exception. Fiance brought her car in, charged her over $300 for a tune up and didnt change/check or do anything to the spark plugs. In fact, they really didnt do anything at all from what another mechanic said after we brought it to him. Average tune up these days is: Air cleaner check/replaced - Yes Plug wires condition check/replace if cracked. -No Plugs removed, inspected new plugs are gapped and installed - No Distributor cap removed - No Points replaced(old cars) and gapped, rotor replaced and new distributor cap. - No Coil voltage output check visibly(blue spark) - No Ignition timing adjusted and set. - No Congrats Midas 1/7, great effort. And the oil was just changed before that so I know they didnt do that. The car hadnt run properly since we brought it there and we took it to someone else. Piston 1 started to misfire and had they changed/checked/recommended the plugs which happens during any tuneup anywhere else, that wouldnt have happen. However they had no problem trying to pressure her into buying additional items that she was not there for. Honestly makes me sick when places like this see women as targets to gouge. I understand it is a business, and you want to make money. I am all for salesmanship and the like, but there are such things as ethics, and this place not only does bad/lazy work, but are unethical on top of it. In other words, if you want your car fixed, an oil change, or an honest mechanic to look at your car, take it somewhere else, anywhere else. Please. Just like I feared before she brought it here, this place is at best a rip-off, and at worst just a chop shop to destroy your car further. You guys really need to do Chicagoland a favor and go out of business before you can rip anyone else off. After writing this I am starting to think I deserve the suffering because Ive gone to Midas more than once, if anyone has a support group for these kinds of things, send me an email.

I dont know what everyone else is crying about. I have yet to have any issues. I have never in my life brought any of my cars to a garage of any sort. I have always done all repairs myself. But it all started with my wanting a new muffler. Took my truck to them, they put it right in. They did their inspection and informed me that my trailing arms were shot, antifreeze needed flushed and power steering needed flushed. Trailing arms are a very common repair on my truck, and I thank them for bringing this to my attention before I dropped my rear axle going 60 MPH down the highway with my family. Just today I brought the truck back in to get a few quotes and had them change my oil. The inspection still showed the antifreeze and power steering fluid needed changed, because I still have not done this. They did not push the service on me either times, and in fact, I told them I would probably do it myself, and had no other questions. This tells me they are not out to scam people. The best part about this location (or maybe its a Midas thing) is that they will put in parts I bring. They do not make me buy parts from them in order for them to fix it. Most places, especially NTB, will not touch parts they do not provide. Which in the case of my trailing arms, turned what could have been a $600+ job at NTB or the dealer into a $300 job because I provided my own parts, which were probably better anyways. Friendly place, always greeted by name. Normally I can just walk in and be out with in an hour. As I said, great place so far!

Guy at the front desk was super creepy in his demeanor and his attitude. Ive gone there twice now and every time they make the same annoying push for synthetic oil. No I dont not want to spend triple the price on something that is not necessary. Came in with a coupon for oil change that included tire rotation and they flat out did not rotate the tires either time I went in there. Theyre also pretty irresponsible - when they finished with my car, they threw my keys on the front desk where no one was sitting for a long period of time - anyone could have taken my keys and driven off with my car. There was no one at the front desk to stop them and while I waited there at the front desk to pay, no one passed by or addressed me for a good 10-15 minutes of me standing there waiting. Should have just taken my keys myself and driven off. Really annoying to deal with. Considering all the car repair / maintenance options in this area, I wont be returning to this Midas again

My normal midas is in Libertyville IL, Im truly taken care of. Yesterday my car was giving me trouble starting. I work in Arlington Heights IL had called Libertyville whom suggest I bring it over to Arlington Heights location, block from my work. I walk in having found out Libertyville had called over letting them know I had on my way. They looked everything over for me. Had me out in under an hour! Told me everything was fine probably cold weather. If I needed anything later in the week to let them know. Thanks midas for helpful staff at any location near and far, I feel very taken care of knowing your staff in every location truly cares and gets the job done!

THEY ARE ROBBERS! They will take your money for services they wont do or do more damage to your car. I was there Oct 2014 and was told the car needed a break flush so I let them. I came back Jan 2015 for an oil change and was told the break fluid is dirty. What?!!! I said it just got done last time. "oh I probably didnt read it right" said the one at the front desk. LIAR LIAR....(I saw it written on the sheet after I got my receipt.) He also said the power steering fluid is dirty and listed other services the car needs. I let them do the power steering flush. Now its leaking! MIDAS YOU SHOULD LEARN ABOUT ETHICS AND HONESTY OR SHUT YOUR PLACE DOWN!

I just recently moved to Arlington Heights and I needed to get my car fixed. The staff is really nice and they let you know if something needs to get fixed and how severe the damage is. They give you honest feedback and a summary of what the cost will be and how long it takes to get your car ready. Today I needed to get my oil pan fixed and I stopped by on short notice. They were still able to get it fixed on the same day. Great experience! Thank you!

The worst place to go to, liars , got my car fixed over there and they said if it doesnt work come back ill fix it or give you the money back, then the same problem happened while I was far and I had to fixed it and came back to him but he didnt give me the money back or admit it . Very rude and mean . Dont waste your time and money going this place.

I brought my van in twice, once for a steering pump return hose that fell off, and the second time for a Passenger side control arm/New tires, and both times my experience was fantastic. Everything was explained properly, and they did everything they could to keep the price within my small budget. I highly recommend this shop
