I came in and had an appointment that I made a few days earlier and sat in their uncomfortable waiting area. An hour later, they actually started working on my car, and didnt inform me at all about what they were doing. I left the place after requesting a new battery cable as well as having told them to remove a piece of metal in my car. After checking the car upon leaving, i realized that they never actually took out the piece of metal and told them to refund me the difference on the part they were ordering. I ended up calling the district supervisor and he told me to go to the store and the employees would help me. Two weeks later after not hearing back from them, i went back to Pepboys to ask what was going on. Anyways, for two months they played games with me telling them that they would order the part and contact me and they never did. Finally, i got fed up with having to physically come in the store and chase them down just to be told "well call you tomorrow" I called the service manager asking for a refund and to forget about the part that I wanted, and he said hed call me back in a bit, as he was really busy. Guess what? Never called me back. I ended up calling my credit card company and getting the chargeback through them. Ive never had to wait for my car as long as I did here, or not have the professional courtesy of being contacted back when promised. I dont normally go out of my way to write reviews, but this whole experience makes me angry. I made the mistake of coming here in a an emergency crisis instead of my normal mechanic, but I will not make that same mistake again.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I made an appoint early this morning for noon for a tire alignment. I arrived at 11:50am during my lunch break and was told my name was not on their list and they wouldnt be able to look at my car until after 4pm. With no way to get back to the office...except for using their in-house Uber or Lyft...I said I need to leave. The man then asked me to wait and questioned why I needed a tire alignment. I relayed that I have not had an alignment done for some time, that my steering wheel vibrates at higher speeds, and that the car drifts to the right when driving straight. He immediately said those were NOT symptoms of tires needing to be aligned (which they are), and that I would need a full diagnostic done in order to pinpoint what components need to be replaced. Took my car to another auto service store which immediately confirmed my front tires each are pointing outward, trying to pull the car both to the left and right, and that was causing the steering wheel vibration....necessitating a tire alignment. During the service at this other shop, all components were in perfectly good condition.

I highly recommend this Pep Boys location! Customer service is the best. I had a headlight blown out last Friday. I didnt realize it till I got out of work which was late. I work in Downers Grove and I had to drive to the city so I decided it was better to get it fix asap. So I drove to the Pep Boys in Lombard. The place had a lot of cars in there service area. It was about 7:25 and the gentleman behind the counter stated that they were real busy and the only way they could help me was if I waited to after 8:00. Which after a long day and I still had a long drive to the city really didnt want to do. So the gentleman saw my disappointment and offered me another solution which I was OK with so I purchased the bulb for my headlight and was about to leave when the same gentleman whose name is David asked me where I was parked and came out to see how bad the situation was and changed out my bulb right on the spot. I was very appreciative of his kind gesture and his help. So yes if you need anything for your car stop by they are great. Thanks again David! :)

I came in today because my coolant fluid level appeared low. Wally at the service desk helped me out. Even though there were other customers waiting in line and other cars being serviced, he still took a moment voluntarily to look at my car outside and filled the coolant to its appropriate level at no cost. He also explained some helpful information about coolant fluid. I always had a good experience at this pep boys location. They will even match competitors prices and promotions. Thanks again for your help Wally.

This is a great Pepboys. They put new tires on my car and aligned it and drove it afterwards to make sure it was good to go and i would have no problems with it. I have previously had bad experiences at OTHER pepboys but this Pepboys in lombard won me back. I will be return for all my auto care in the future. You can see that the reason this shop is run so well is because the manger knows how to take care of his customers and manage his employees. Come here if you want a job well done! Jaime

Writing this review from Lombard,IL pep boys. Waiting to have 1 tire changed for 1:30 mins. The place was not very busy when I came in. The sales tech informed me that it will be 45 mins total for installation. After 1:30 mins my car was still outside untouched. Talked to another tech and finally someone is working on it. Not very good customer service or maybe my job was not high $ to be addressed in a timely manner.

My car had catastrophic engine failure and I had my car towed to this store for a fix. The car was beyond repair at the end of the day, but the staff at this store was excellent. They went above and beyond in offering me all the help they could in fixing the car and dealing with a very painful situation. Its a friendly and knowledgeable staff thats willing to help. Highly recommend.

My daughter came in to have a complimentary vehicle inspection run for codes. Gordon Heberg sold her up. $99.70 later she left Pep Boys realizing what how it feels to be abused by a business. Spoke with the manager and blah blah blah later my daughter, who really could use that hundred, is told they will be happy to apply that cost to work done there. Kidding, right? Beware.

The customer service sucks, I made an appointment over the phone and when I went to counter they told me my name was not listed at all and they were booked for the day, they didnt try to resolve the issue or anything. I wont recommend this store at all, apparently they dont realize that customers are the one that pays their salaries.....

I usually drop my car off with them in the late morning for some fix ups and they tell me it might be the whole day, but I get a call early afternoon most of the time when theyre done. Whenever theyre packed they seem to still get my car done in a decent amount of time. I work down the street so its very convenient.

The staff were all friendly. My appointment was for 8a, they got me in at 8a. I didnt feel pressured into more than what I came in for. I didnt feel like I was being talked down to. The price I was quoted was the price I paid. Id come back for future work on my car.
