I have never written a bad review, and Im a genuine, nice person. I am shocked at the poor level of customer service I received. I went to the post office to inquire about a certified letter that was never delivered to me. According to the tracking number, the letter was marked as undeliverable as addressed although I confirmed with the sender that my address was correct on the letter. When I went to the post office, the representative I spoke with was extremely rude and dismissive even though I was polite. She informed me that the letter was sent back to the sender, but he still hasnt received it more than two weeks later. I followed up again today by phone, and the representative I spoke with was also rude and disconnected the call. I am convinced that the post office carrier didnt attempt to deliver the letter in the first place and now it may have been lost. I understand that sometimes things happen, but there is absolutely no excuse for me to have been treated so poorly. All I wanted to know was where the letter was as it contained some very important documents. Although I live within a couple blocks of this post office, I will no longer patronize this establishment due to how I was treated.

Agreed, consistently bad service (in terms of SLOW service - not unfriendly people working there). Always a line, its as if the post offices deliberately varies the number of counter employees to always keep a line of at least 5 - 10 customers at any given time. In four years Ive been using this PO I can not recall a single time when I have not had to wait to get service, doesnt matter what day or time. Today I needed a simple change of address, no forms anywhere to take (I checked various counters, most of the forms available werent even in the right spot). After waiting to talk to someone at the counter (a single person only, leisurely serving a line of 5+ people) I just left - yet more wasted time. Im really rooting for the PO, and want them to succeed and stay in business, but they deserve to fail and be replaced if they cant get their "stuff" together. This is supposed to be a service, please provide it.

This place is the worse I went during the week, in the evening, and paid for it. The customer service is non existent, lines for the main counter went back to the other side of the hall. With no relief in sight, one would go to the ONLY self serve kiosk, which had a line back to the far wall as well. With basically another post office seven minutes drive (near Harlem and Madison) in forest park, I wonder why is this one (or even that one) still open? Oak park is trying to expand the area with more condos near an outdated and outmoded post office like this? Either revamp the place, the employees and add more kiosks or close it and clear it for more boutique shops or a cultural center. Just dont leave this post office as is. Avoid this location as best as you can.

I dont know what is going on with this post office, there is no professionalism. The managers are unwilling to help you, they are also understaffed. Wish I could post a picture of how long the line is. There is only two workers here and they are taking their sweet time. Which is fine because they shouldnt rush, but with a line like this they should at least ask for help. I called in about a package that had been marked undeliverable and tried to see if I could pick it up. The manager told me that he could not locate the package and call me back in an hour or so to give me a status on the package. He never called the next thing I know the package is being sent back to sender. Around the same time I called in to check on it. Very disappointed.

Have made several trips to pick up packages. There are 2 employees in particular that are usually pretty rude, and the rest are fine. In Illinois when you have a ticket they take your drv license. The 2 rude employees gave me a hard time saying that my ticket "with my address written in by the officer", my military ID (issued by the US government) and FOID card (issued by the state of Illinois with current address) were not enough to prove my residency to pick up my packages. They summoned supervisor who came and actually helped me thank goodness. Ive also came right at closing and had another supervisor get my package even though he didnt have to. So leadership there is good but some of the workers are subpar...

This building is beautiful. Therefore, they get two stars. Other than that... awful. I was home and went out to check for a package I was expecting, only to see a "Sorry we missed you!" sticker. Bummed that they didnt even knock, I called to see if the postman could come back. I was told on the phone rather rudely that all the postmen had gone home so I could come pick it up. I came to pick it up and was told it was still out in the truck with the postman on his route... I came back later that evening and the lady working there was so rude she made me cry! This was just one of many bad experiences Ive had here. The employees are rude and slow and do not understand things very well. Ugh. Frustrating.

While a few letter carriers exhibit excellent attention to customer service, overall the oak park office is ridden with carriers who consistently mis-handle the mails. It is especially annoying that they cannot distinguish north from south addresses in this village, despite separate ZIP codes. First class mail left for pickup is often re-deposited in the mailbox. Packages are delivered to neighbors. Netflix returns disappear. Email notifications of delivery do not coincide with actual successful placement of the article at the correct address. Arent you tired of driving around town to find your stuff dropped off at random places? I sure am.

They lost 2 of my packages in 1 month. Epic fail. Atrocious customer service at window. Supervisor even worse. Over the top nice/civil/accommodating on my part met with outright evasion, rudeness, & kindergarten grade logic by "supervisor". Staff at windows complain audibly & loudly, and are in the midst of belittling SOME poor soul at the window no matter when I arrive. "Good enough for government work" attitude will ensure FedExs name on the building in 10 years. Bravo! Used the USPS for 4 decades, but it took you just one month to move everything to internet billing and FedEx/UPS.

I was at the post office three times this week. While they were understaffed, the staff people that helped me were very kind and very helpful. They all helped me figure out which type of shipping would be the best for each of my packages. Yes, the lines were long, but the staff stayed positive and were very helpful. Its not their fault and I respect the level of positivity they had given the situation theyre in.

I cant even rate it. "Joe" answered the phone, and was the worst most miserable person i have ever talked too. i under stand you answer phones, but he didnt listen and i repeated myself multiple times. i wish nothing nice or good for this person. this further makes me understand why our postal system is failing because of people like "joe".
