Most of the Google Reviews for this business focus on the quality of the dealership, which is top notch in our opinion. We purchased a used Honda CRV and couldnt be happier with the experience purchasing the vehicle and the quality of the vehicle over the long term. The one star rating Im giving this business is because of the service department. Last year we needed to replace the air bags as part of the nationwide recall, but we were also noticing a slight "clunking" noise in the front end, so we decided to take care of two birds with one stone. We werent ready to pay to have the front end fixed, so I asked if they could assess what was wrong and give us an estimate. They said, "We could, but we would have to charge you over $100 (cant remember the exact amount) just for the assessment." We didnt want to pay the money, so we balked and told them to just take care of the air bag. A few minutes later one of the service sales staff (not one of the mechanics) came in and proclaimed, "We could tell what was wrong with the front end as soon as the vehicle was on the lift!" Which by itself is odd because why would the vehicle be on the lift in order to switch out the air bags? She then proceeded to tell me that the inner and outer tie rods on both sides of the front end were either loose or broken in half and that the car was too dangerous to leave the lot and would require over $1000 in work (which included other charges for the brake job we knew it needed). Im not that ignorant about cars, so I knew that something seemed fishy. I was able to take my car (but not before signing a waiver that said the car was dangerous to drive) to another mechanic I trust who verified my suspicions: the tie rods were completely fine and that if they were in the kind of shape the dealership said they were in, I wouldnt have been able to get the car to the dealership, let alone another mechanic. We called the manager of the service department to complain and he offered a free assessment of the tie rods (which they found were fine). When pressed for an explanation for the discrepancy, the manager blamed an "inexperienced technician", which was a complete lie, because there is no way they would let a technician that was so completely inexperienced that he couldnt clearly tell the difference between a tie rod that was broken and one that wasnt touch any customers cars. I have never experienced such an egregious example of a corrupt mechanic in my entire life and I will never have the Honda BMW of Savoy service department near my car ever again. I cant imagine the number of other people (including another person in the shop that day that received a large maintenance bill) that this department has taken advantage of.

Within our household we dont purchase vehicles often, but when we do, those vehicles have always been pre-owned Hondas. Recently we decided that it was time to purchase new as we were having trouble finding exactly what we wanted in older models, and the price point was not significantly higher than pre-owned. We live in Bloomington, IL so Champaign was not the first place we looked. A day after doing various online quotes, Richard from BMW of Champaign reached out and listened to exactly what we wanted. Due to a strict "Dave Ramsey" budget we were not ready to purchase for another 3 months, however Richard said no problem and contacted us at a later date we provided. Although Richard was extremely passionate about getting us what we wanted, not once did we feel pressured. And during pricing negotiation, it always felt like a win-win transaction. At the end of the day, we chose Honda and BMW of Champaign because of two things, customer service and price. Richard offered a military incentive that really helped bring the price to a place no other dealer would, and trust me we asked other Honda dealers if they could offer the same military "type" savings, but none in central IL would meet Champaigns price. In addition to price, and possibly the deciding factor, Richard said something that no other dealer did when we inquired about military discounts, he thanked me for my service. Although Im not much for military recognition, something about his sincere appreciation meant a lot and made him stand out among the rest, even though we never met face to face until the day we purchased. Lastly, we appreciate the time that other Honda dealers and salesman in the surrounding area spent with my spouse and me during our search. We had to make the best financial decision for our household and do what felt right, and that was with Richard at Honda and BMW of Champaign. We couldnt be more happy with our decision.

I had a 2004 Honda Civic that I bought off of Craigslist about two years ago. Needless to say, it was one of the worst purchases I ever made. After one year and about 20k miles later, the engine gave out and it was time to start looking for another car. I was under quite a time constraint because I commute to school - without a car, this was quite impossible to do. I knew I wanted another Honda Civic because I truly trust the manufacturer, I just should not have trusted Craigslist. I decided to pay Honda of Champaign a visit and was delightfully greeted by the salesman, Dale McElroy. We immediately hit it off. When I told him about my auto history, I could tell he was genuinely concerned that I place myself in a safe, trustworthy vehicle for my commutes to nursing school. I told him of my budget and my expectations and he treated me like nothing less than a respectable adult. We did some research and found a 2008 Honda Civic that was just slightly out of my price range but had significantly less miles than I asked for. I asked Dale to walk me through what the entire purchase would look like and from start to finish, he took the time to do just that. The greatest trait I can appreciate in a car salesman is honesty - Dale upholds this to the utmost potential. Young adults and students often find themselves feeling ripped off or treated differently - Honda of Champaign does no such thing. Chad and the other associates in the service department take into serious consideration that I am a student, but only to ensure that my car is maintained and lasts me as long as I need it to. As a full time student with a full time job, I have a busy schedule and Honda of Champaign always finds an opening that works for me. I truly appreciate the service and unconditional respect that I receive here at Honda of Champaign - for that reason, I will definitely continue coming back!

Very disappointed with Honda manufacturing and the service center at this dealership. Started taking my 2011 CRV, (purchased new in 2011, by me, in Bloomington) to them in October of 2015 for routine maintenance. That trip went well. Then February of 2016, due for oil change (oil changes only every 10-12,000 miles, per manual) and they tell me I need a new oil pan because they "couldnt get the oil plug to snug down", estimate over $700. WHAT!!!??? I declined, and that was going to be my last visit to them. Today I rolled into another garage for a tire rotation and oil change, and they couldnt change the oil because the plug was completely stripped and couldnt be removed. When I presented the car to Honda of Champaign, they took no responsibility and blamed it on the other places Id had my oil changed previously. I asked how could it be ok in Ocotber and needing repair in February, when no one else had touched it? "Normal wear and tear" was the response. This would have been the 13th oil change for this vehicle. Seems either Honda of Champaign stripped my plug on the February visit and wont own up to it, or Honda is building defective vehicles, or Honda of Champaign has a profitable scam going. Ben Quattrone did offer me $100 off the labor for the repair. Sorry, Ben, but as I said before why should I have to pay for something I didnt break? And why was the technician able to complete the job in October with no mention of any problem? Why didnt any other garage have a problem? Did the plug really wear out after it was used 12 times? And you cant stand behind it because it wasnt serviced or purchased there? I got a feeling you wouldnt stand behind it if I had. Should have stuck with Toyota. Never had these problems, and ANYONE could change the oil.
