For about three years I had their service. Mediacoms internet is shared with everyone else along the same cable as you, so entire neighborhoods share bandwidth. This also means lag spikes that the company "has no control over" and the such. Now on one hand, they DID get out to fix it if anything was seriously wrong with it.... but the kicker is I had a modem, a cheap little 50 dollar modem they were renting to me for an additional ten a month. (( If you do the math, thats 360 dollars payed on it in rent for three years. )) They told me when I was dropping their service that theyd send me the box to send it back..... Well a few months later, with no phone call, no box, and no nothing, I started getting credit collection calls. They wanted to charge me an additional 140 dollars for their little modem I had been renting for three years.... So either they value this very simple and weak modem at 500 USD, or they are just trying to rip off a customer who stayed with them and was willing to recommend them. The saddest part of this, is they own most of the service in this town, so most people HAVE To deal with them. I will never go back, never recommend, and NEVER touch base again once I take this damn box 20 miles to the closest store, being their Decatur branch.

We have a local office you cant call directly. Call the 1-800# and if you get through, many of the agents are hard to understand with broken English. The internet is intermittent with frequent outages. On demand is slow and often not working. Channels like to pixelate..even HD channels. Mediacom says its because theyre upgrading...for the last several months?!?. Ive had Mediacom for over 15 years. I pay for a higher speed connection and extra channels yet constantly have issues. Unfortunately, its the only choice in our area for cable unless you go with Hulu, dish, or something similar.

WORST!!! service ever they never fix anything Im constantly on the phone trying fix my service because it never works properly an the give u a small credit...i would not recommend there service suck and there customer service is just as bad they just lie to you an only fix thing temporary oh an there techs that are so called to come out and fix the problem never show up.very very very very POOR SERVICE CABLE AND INTERNET!!!!!!

I have had problems with my internet resetting 3 or 4 times a day. I have received a different modem and still have the problems. They came out and fixed the lines and still problems. What else can I do because I take online schooling and if I can not access the internet then I can not do my work. It got worse when our upstairs neighbor received mediacom. I do not like centurylink because their prices keep going up.

the customer service is poor unless you are searching for service, but once you are a connected they will not keep to there promises of being able to change service without a fee, my cable box over heats after an hour so the show comes in spotty and I cant get them to change out the box, and im paying $25 for local tv that I get with my digital antenna, I mean CMon!......

Despite the poor ratings it gets it was either this or centurylink. Centaurylink should only be used to burn a hole through your wallet. Mediacom actually wasnt all that bad. It survived a year on call of dutys servers. After that the internet got glitchy but Mediacom resolved that issue.
