By far the worst movers. Not only did they damage items, but then denied a claim. Atlantic Relocation was contracted by my employer to move my family possessions from North Carolina to Virginia. Atlantics employees showed up one day behind schedule. They were scheduled to show up on a Wednesday, pack on Wednesday and Thursday, load the furniture on Friday, and move us to a storage unit on Saturday. Since they did not show up until Thursday, they only left themselves one day to pack our household items. They maintained the rest of the schedule by delivering our goods on Saturday to the storage unit. Because of an unusual law in Virginia, Atlantic Relocation was not contracted to move our possessions from the storage unit to our new house. I contracted a local moving company to move our items from the storage unit to the new house. As they started to pull our items out of the storage unit, the movers and myself noticed that several items that were damaged. The movers indicated that our possessions were improperly stacked inside of the storage unit. One example would be that Atlantic Relocations employees put a plasma screen TV (unboxed)on the top of a stack of boxes that were 8 ft in the air. The local movers (which have an outstanding reputation) documented each damaged item as it came out of the storage unit. Each damaged item then had pictures taken of the damage. After we completely unpacked our household items, I contacted my corporate office to inform them of the poor service. I sent my corporate office a detailed list of the damaged items as well as the pictures we took of the damage. My corporate office then contacted Gregory Hermance to discuss the compliant, and Gregory called me to go over the details of my compliant. I sent Gregory Hermance copies of the pictures. He then put me in contact with Melissa Fox. Melissa Fox sent me a claim form in which we filled out and sent back to Atlantic Relocation. I sent my claim for in on Monday, March 18th 2013. I was sent a claim denial email the following day Tuesday, March 19th 2013. Below is the email from Melissa Fox explaining the reason for the denial: Good afternoon Alan, I received a copy of the claim form this morning and forward this to our Claim Dept at our corporate office. Unfortunately the claim has been denied due to the items were delivered to a mini storage facility. Our Claims Dept pulled the BINGO sheet from Atlas to see if any items were noted as damaged upon going into the storage facility and nothing is noted. Because mini storage’s are not considered to be a secured facility and nothing was documented at the time the items were delivered, we would not be able to honor any portion of the submitted claim. I understand that a separate local company moved the items from the mini storage to your current home. I see that photo’s were sent - some from what appear to be outside the mini storage and some from the inside of the new residence. Any coverage from Atlas Van Lines/Atlantic Relocation Systems ended once the goods were delivered into the mini storage. I know this is a less than favorable conclusion to the claim that was submitted – but we have nothing to substantiate where the damage occurred. Please let me know if there are any questions. Kind regards, Melissa Fox It is my goal to achieve the highest rating on all customer surveys. If at any time during your relocation, you are not 100% satisfied with our services, please inform me immediately so that the issue can be resolved. Melissa Fox and Atlantic Relocation are not standing by their own self imposed "100% satisfaction" guarantee. She did absolutely nothing to help me "resolve" my problem.

I would highly recommend using Atlantic Relocation Systems for any moving or relocation needs. From the very beginning when I was first soliciting moving companies to the day they delivered the household goods, ARS was the most thorough, knowledgeable, and cordial group to work with on my companys employee relocation. I was asked by my supervisor to assist in finding a mover that would relocate a recently promoted employee from Indianapolis to Phoenix. Because of the long trek and cost involved, it was crucial that I select a company that was not only experienced in handling cross country moves with little-to-no damage to property but also cost effective. Melissa Craig was my first encounter and she answered all my questions with complete transparency and courtesy. I "interviewed" nearly a dozen moving companies, some of which were also very knowledgeable and helpful, and narrowed down my selection to three. Based on the cost estimate, experience, reputation of the name, online reviews, and how helpful the company was, we ultimately chose ARS. Since I personally have never used a professional moving company, learning the ins and outs of the business as well as making sure the employees property would be secured and well taken care of made for a really anxiety-filled experience for me. Tracy Roberts, who took the reins after Melissa, could not have been more ideal in being my ARS representative. She answered every single one of my questions with complete honesty and remained cordial despite the numerous times I contacted her with more inquiries. She realized I was anxious and turned this situation into a learning experience for me, educating me on exactly what goes on with the moving industry and what best practices are recommended. When youre dealing with a long distance move and all the factors that go into transporting a familys entire belongings with monetary and personal value, trust is very important, and Tracy did a tremendous job gaining my trust during this process. As we got closer to the move date, Tracy walked the employees family and myself through the process, double checking that all of our ducks were in a row. During the days of the move Tracy visited the family more than once to make sure everything was going smoothly and helped ease some of the anxiety that comes with a move. She and the drivers went above and beyond to ease any worry, including transporting their family dog so that he didnt have to fly in cargo in below freezing temperatures. On the day the truck delivered the household goods to the new home, the employee let my supervisor and I know everything was great. He said, "Dog and the rest of our stuff made it safely this morning at 8 AM. Movers were tremendous. Great guys." The whole team at ARS that worked with us during this arduous process did a fantastic job. I feel 100% confident they will do a great job for anyones moving needs. To be honest, they were not the least expensive mover on our list, however it was totally worth paying a little extra for the security and peace of mind that our employees belongings were in good hands. When it comes time for me to move into a new home, I will most definitely contact them.

From the first point of contact Atlantic was on the ball. Tracy came out and was extremely professional, knowledgeable and was truly concerned with the safety of our belongings - she was giving us tips as we walked the house on how to pack stuff to prevent damage etc and I really appreciated this. Moreover, the crew showed up on time the day of the move, they were EXTREMELY professional, respectful and on top of it were a good fun bunch of guys to work with...I have to say that I was incredibly impressed with the crew - literally not a single item was damaged or broken during the move...impressive if you ask me. It is important to note that the guys were willing to go the extra mile to get us into our house as quickly as possible. They were literally running in and out of the houses to load/unload. Beyond that, my wife and I have moved at least 11 times in the past 9 years and this is by far the best service that we have ever received from any moving crew. If we asked for something to be moved in a different position, etc, the guys did not make us feel like we were inconveniencing them and actually kept on asking us if they could adjust the position/location of anything for us before they left...truly sensational. Most go by nowadays doing the minimum possible and reluctantly do what is necessary...kudos to this crew for the work ethic that they displayed. They even told me to stop helping moving stuff as they were the ones getting paid to do the work - havent heard that in a while! Unfortunately, I cant sit still. Overall, I just want to thank everybody involved as it could not have gone any better. I am extremely pleased with the decision that I made and would recommend the driver and crew to anyone.
