Worseeeeeeeeeeee experience ever. Not this facility but calling in with the 1800 # trying to cancel a po box. Man over the phone didnt speak English properly and i tried to give him a chance. (i apparently was speaking too fast the exact same thing.) After 30 min you as a customer get frustrated of explaining and i asked if i could speak to someone else. (it was obvious there was a language barrier), he then told me i was making fun of him. Ummm NO!!! Trust, i dont have time to make fun. I just need help on canceling a po box. After continuing to give this man a chance to help me he finally then told me i need to go to the post office and cancel which is what I should have been told in the first place. And on top of that he suddenly started lecturing me about going to the post office. I hung up, cant deal with ppl like that. Rediculous!!!!!!!

Every single time I order something online it doesnt get delivered and I dont get a notice that they "attempted" to deliver it! I have to look up my tracking number to know it wasnt delivered. I live in an apartment and almost every package can be put in my mailbox. If not I have notes on my door to leave it at the door and they dont. PLUS they could also leave it at the office but choose not to! None of these item required a signature either! And the people working in the post office are rude and lazy ! Completely irritated with the west Des Moines post office ! I work normally 8-5 hours and I have to leave work early in order to come pick up my package since they are close by that time. Completely in convent !

the weekday letter carrier is great, hes reliable and seems to do a good job. HOWEVER, their Sunday delivery guy is worthless. Ive had a couple different packages that were supposed to be delivered on Sundays but every time it gets marked as undeliverable as addressed. I talked to the weekday carrier and he told me theyve had multiple complaints because people simply are not getting their packages when they are supposed to. Maybe their Sunday delivery carrier simply doesnt understand how to read a map, in which case, he needs to find a new profession.

The emplyoees at the site are ALWAYS friendly and helpful. On the other hand My delivery driver has claimed to have left notices without doing as such 3 times in the last three months., I currently have a package I need to call about that on tracking that says a notice was left on 12/08/12 at 4.08 pm. I was sitting at home at that time watching the mail carrier out my window. He did not attempt to deliver the package,yet put in tracking that he left a notice. He did none of the above! As of 12/18/12 no notice of any kind has been left.

This place is the worst Post Office I have dealt with in my life. The employees are incompetent people who should not be responsible for anything. If you ever want to deal with postal workers who are derived from a small gene pool this "post office" is perfect. The workers have a very deep vocabulary of ahhhhhhs, hmmmms, and I dont knows. If I could pick one place on our planet to nominate for a "least likely to succeed" award, I would pick this place and its employees. Way to go USPS!

I own a business a mile and a half from this facility. We have been here for approximately 40 years. We have trouble all the time. In fact, I just received mail today that is post marked two months ago. We are a business. We need our mail in a timely fashion. Some of my mail today were checks and invoices that needed processing two months ago. Some have actually been resent already! This is an ongoing problem and they just dont address it well.

HORRIBLE service. I live a few blocks away from the post office, and have lived here for 10 years, and have CONSTANT problems with delivery. Just tracked a package that I was expecting, shipped to my correct home address, and it says the post office has marked it undeliverable as addressed. The tracking clearly shows my correct address. Unreal how they cant find a house 4 blocks from their office.

Slow as dick. The mailman was at my apartment, and never bothered to knock on my door, and the package wasnt in my mailbox...so not sure what happened. Please fix these things. Better: Customer Service Knock on my door harder (sometimes they dont even knock, just just drop a box) Please leave a note if the package fails to deliver or notify me somehow. Thank you.

Went down to my apt mailbox to get the mail and all my mail was gone and the box was left open with no note or anything. Trying to get a hold of someone....Ive called three times and the phone just keeps ringing and ringing. So far pretty terrible experience. Cant wait to see what happens when I go in. Bleh!

Very disappointing customer service from my carrier! He has an extremely poor attitude. I have complained to the postmaster----in person---about this carrier, and was told he does indeed have a bad attitude and they are aware of it. YET, nothing has happened, and nothing has changed.

Poor service when you come before they close. 8:30am-5pm? They apparently work less hours than me at this location, will have to leave early in order to pick up my package. Why not stagger shifts? The one redeeming quality is at least the mail carrier for my location seems pleasant.

Employees always look unhappy and seem like its a bother to them to help you. Called today to check on a package and lady on the phone was not helpful at all and very short with me. Its been the same ever since I moved here. I would avoid this post office if you can.

I know they try but really the numbers are next to the mail box, my neighbor should not bring me my mail every few days. I found a package on his doorstep that was left there. Once someone 3 blocks away brought my power bill. There needs to be some changes there.

The carrier for the apartments I manage is horrible. Constantly sending back mail stating "Undeliverable as addressed" even though the addresses are correct. Tenants not getting mail because its sent back, mail constantly in the wrong boxes. He just doesnt care.

Different mail carrier several times per week. My mail is delivered to the wrong street several times per month and I get mail for people that live one street over. Constantly have to track packages that they delivered to my neighbors a street over.

Today I witnessed one of the workers insulting and making racist remarks towards a young couple that was trying to pick up mail. You would think this would not occur in the 21st century and is disgusting. Awful customer service.

I disagree with the above posts... I found the postal worker to very helpful; even at the end of the day around 430 in the afternoon. I had several books to ship out via media mail, and she helped me with great ease.

I missed my delivery, called and explained that I was boarding a plane in the morning and couldnt pick it up at the store. They came all the way back just to bring me my package.
