On Thursday April 9, 2015 my husbands jeep began having problems on his way to work. He contacted Mr. Transmission while at work to inquire on services to the clutch, which seemed to be what the problem was. The representative told him they offer towing to their location along with a "free" diagnostic. He told my husband the tow fee is around $60, which is waived if the customer decides to allow them to perform needed repairs. My husband thought this sounded reasonable and asked them to come make the tow and call him once theyve performed the "free" diagnostic. Once Mr. Transmission had the jeep towed to their location, they called to inform my husband they would not be able to diagnose the problem without him paying a $500 labor fee to take the transmission apart. This is far from a "FREE" diagnostic, and my husband told them no thanks. He was then informed he would owe them $60 for the tow bill. I called the same representative and told him that, because they failed to disclaim the fact that if they had to take anything apart to diagnose the customer has to pay an upfront labor fee, they should foot the $60 tow bill, as had they disclaimed this to my husband, he would never have had them tow it in the first place. The representative went on to say they dont make money off the $60 tow bill, which was absolutely beside the point. The point is (and I verbalized this) that the representative should use the term "free diagnosis" loosely, and should in the future disclaim to the customer that if they have to take anything apart to diagnose the customer has to pay an upfront labor fee. Might I add, also, that it turned out to be the hydraulic line, which my husband repaired for himself, without taking anything apart. Nothing could ever convince me that any of the technicians at this Mr. Transmission took the time to do anything with my husbands jeep without first trying to con money out of us. Christian (Mr. Transmission) failed to resolve my complaints, and went as far as submitting only half of any evidence with our dealings with them to the bbb.

I had my transmission rebuilt at Masters Transmission and had an unpleasant experience with the owner, Clayton Higdon. The mechanics did a good job rebuilding my transmission. However, the owner failed to take accountability for leak damage that was most likely caused as a result of this work. I paid $2200 to have this work done and was appalled at the lack of professionalism and accountability Clayton displayed. When my car was returned to me I noticed a leak coming from the transfer case. The transfer case had to be removed in the process of rebuilding my transmission. I called Clayton to explain the issue. After taking a look, Clayton immediately began denying any wrong doing on his part. He became very combative and refused to correct the problem free of charge because it was a pre existing condition. My truck as never leaked prior to taking it to Masters and nowhere on the work order did Clayton point out that my car was leaking preceding the service. I did not feel the work was finished properly and disagreed. I called other transmission shops and described the problem. Each explained that the leak was most likely caused by having to remove the transfer case and a seal must not have been installed properly. He became very angry that i called around to other shops and told me he was not going to work on my car and to come pick it up. I had the work done elsewhere to correct Masters wrong doing. The COst was $450 that Masters refused to pay. Stay away from Masters Transmisson because they lack professionalism and accountability

SCAM ARTISTS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.. My transmission lost 2nd and 3rd gear. I googled the closest shops to me and this came up. They offered a free tow so I called them. Driver towed me in and that point a friend of mine warned me about a bad experience with these guys but they already had my car. Christian calls me back and said they can not find anything wrong with my car and it will be $498 to determine what is. I asked about the "free estimate" and he said that it didnt turn up any problems. At this point I really need to have it fixed so I let them proceed, he calls me back and says my entire transmission needs rebuilt for $3700. So I told him I needed a second opinion, to which he tells me I was putting them out because they had already "done so much work"!!! I had to pay for the tow and the $498, I ended up getting it fixed and it did NOT need rebuilt for $584.20 at a fair shop. These guys and their manager "Christian" are Louisvilles finest scam artists.

Rating purely the service. The guy I talked to on the phone said I could bring the car in for a free estimate. He knew I wanted a quote for the work because we have talked twice about it. I bring the car in, and he then tells me its a drive test that provides no quote. I ask how much to evaluate the transmission, and provide a quote, and he says they dont do guess work, and if I dont like it I should "take the car somewhere else." Given the thoroughness of involved in a review of such a commodity, theyre probably pretty good at real work. But good luck getting any idea of how much thats gonna cost. I recommend Billys Middletown Transmission down the street.

I went to this place to get my van serviced and was not happy with the communication nor price. It went from a transmission rebuild to a brand new transmission. I was informed about this weeks later. Than i was told i had to pay $2000 for the repairs, wasnt happy with price so i told them to discontinue the service than was told i could not back out of it. Not a happy camper now im stuck with no van a lost in my book cause i couldnt afford thar price tag

I took my car in because it was making a noise that somebody had suggested might be a transmission issue. After performing a test drive and external inspection, the owner told me, like other reviewers here, that Id need to pay $498 to have the transmission taken apart and diagnosed. I declined, thank you very much, and took it elsewhere, to discover that the issue was caused by a wheel bearing that cost $47 to replace. BEWARE.

Broke down going to work called them to get a tow. I was taken to work by one of the gentlemen there. Christian called me and gave me the news it measures my transmission. I needed my car and approved the repair. Three short days later I was back on the road. Very Profesional and will be going back for future repairs. Thanks!
