My family and I have gone to them for over 15 years. This last experience with John, the owner, has completely left us to find another mechanic. I took my Honda in to get an oil change, tire rotation, brake fluid flush, and serpentine belt changed. John told me: "Including the cost of the belts, itll run about $165." I agreed to the price and when I came to pick it up later that day, the price was $330! I had to come back the following day to speak with John about the egregious difference in price. He told me the quote he gave me did not include the cost of the belts; however, the estimate in the computer remained $165. Their mistake was not calling and confirming this price in the first place. Johns offer to fix this situation was to 1.) take the belts back. Or 2.) A free oil change. This was the most disrespectful offer imaginable. I told him I would be willing to pay the estimate cost, but he said "I cant just give you the belts." They have lost our familys business for good and this seems to be a pattern developing with this company. I encourage everyone to steer clear of this establishment and seek another place to repair your car.

Took my Toyota in for an oil leak and fuel sending install since my fuel gauge wasnt working.... Got it back was leaking coolant so I took it back and they didnt tighten a hose, came back home and decided to look it over. ..found multiple hoses not pulled in flush, my drain valve on radiator left partially open....lots of little sloppy things that make me worry about what long term results Ill be seeing...they swapped the fuel sending unit yet never bother to trouble shoot to see why the fuel gauge wont work, I can only assume its a bad ground somewhere or something electric....I wont bother wasting my time taking it back, Ill chalk up the money spent as bitter loss and try Stein or Arts garage instead to help resolve my last issues and hope that more havent been created due to any more mistakes...

I have been a customer of Shields Service for 10+ years. He and Mason have been very dependable. When they discuss my cars maintenance, I am confident I am getting quality service and honest reports on the issues at hand. I have never felt they were trying to pad the repair bill. There has been a couple of times Ive stropped by with a minor problem and John stops what he is doing to fix the problem right away. Several of my friends and family have been using Shields Service for several years.

These guys are awesome! The shop is clean and organized. They completed some work after an accident on ice that sent me over a grassy median into oncoming traffic. They had to replace the tires, wheels, other parts and pieces required for an operational vehicle. A few days after the work, a rear wheel was wobbling during my morning commute. I called Shields and they came to my work to check it out! They got it taken care of right away and its been great since!

I initially found them on Cartalk about ten years ago. They do all the maintenance that I dont want to fool with. Honest. I can tell you they have saved me thousands of dollars over the years because they dont play the upsell game that other garages play. They make recommendations and treat your car as if it was their own - make the needed repairs, but dont fix things just to increase the bill. Also, I dont buy a car without checking with them first.

A family friend referred me to Shields Service for honest, quality, and affordable service and I have not been disappointed. The staff is friendly and the work was prompt. They even informed me of potential future problems they witnessed while working on my car and very openly told me that repair was not needed at the time, but to just keep an eye on it. I highly recommend this shop for almost any automotive repair and/or maintenance.

As usual with John and Mason my wifes car was repaired in a professional and timely manner at a fair price: I have been a repeat customer for years and never had any concerns or even a comeback. Always on time with repairs and great communication explaining in detail what was done to the car and what may be needed in the future to keep problems to a minimum.

Took car in for repair. Had to leave several days. Picked it up and after driving a day realized it was not fixed. Took back and they admitted it was not fixed and told me I would have to go to back of line and wait another couple of days for second attempt. Never fixed it. Finally informed I would have to take to dealer to fix. No refund on money.

John and his son repaired a Toyota mini van for a refugee family from our church. They went out of their way to save money for this family and yet did an excellent job of repair. We cant thank them enough. There are too few businesspeople in this world who balance profit and doing the right thing for their customers. The Shields get it!!
