Recently, I have had nightmarish experiences with at least 4 other shops, and spent a lot of money. So I was extremely nervous and weary of handing the keys over to another person. The shops I took it to damaged it more than they fixed it. It was so awful and scary, its like "Im paying you for this service, and you cant even do the job well, or without screwing something else up (one awful shop even folded up a piece of cardboard and stuck it under my headlight casing that they damaged just well enough so I didnt notice it right off.) so, safe to say I was on edge. But it was very very relieving to drive away from Springdale and have it feel like a totally new van. The work they performed yesterday was solid. The pedals/brakes are secure and tight, there is no sticking after driving over a puddle, there is no sliding and they are sensitive. I had Ken Towerys do just about the same kind of job (brakes, rotors, axel replacement, etc) in 2014 and they have never felt this good. The customer service from the mechanics and especially the Manager, Arlis, was phenomenal. He was reassuring and confident in his business. He spoke well and knew how to address the issues at hand, and I felt the pricing fit the work. No damage to the vehicle :D Quick service. They didnt keep it overnight. They didnt call me up and say it was going to be more than agreed on. They didnt add in extra things that needed to be done "right away". Very professional, nice service and great work. Thank you for everything, I will certainly be back. A+++++++++ Five-Star Great Work Great Car!

Routine check-up goes awry. In the past I have gone to the other 2 Springdale locations and they were a little overpriced for service, but acceptable. So, I take my SUV into this Westport location for a mere check-up because we were about to take a big road trip. After its done they print off a ton of papers with recommendations and why the maintenance is necessary. Okay. I literally drive out of the parking lot to the nearby street light and then THUD! Loud bang, my car stalls awful bad and miraculously I made it back to their shop. I let them know what happened. They seem only moderately surprised or concerned and say they will have a look. Turns out magically one of my output speed sensors have been knocked out of place/damaged. Recommendation? They say, "only one is out, but these things almost never keep working unless bought in pairs" (input and output sensor together). Bottomline, a routine check-up for a car running just fine has something broken by one of their guys and I end up having to pay nearly $400. And thats WITH a discount. The actual owner, of all Springdale Automotive stores, was there that day and swears they did nothing to break the sensors. My instincts tell me its a new location with all new green techs and one of them messed up. Deliberately? I hope not, but it very much felt like they took advantage of a female walking in ... happens all the time at automotive places. I doubt these sensors cost as much as they say (I found them listing $100 to $120). Enter at your own risk.

Took my wifes car in to have the rear brakes and rotors changed. I was quoted a prices for supplying the parts and ended up allowing the shop to order new rotors. Price was fair and acceptable. However, less than ten days later the rear brakes were squealing again. I took the car up to Springfield on a Saturday Morning and asked Arron to look at the rear brakes. (The sound was metal grinding metal) Arron was to busy and only had one technician in the shop. I drove the car back home and called a friend to help me pull the wheel off to look at the brakes. The photos are what we found...no lock-tite on either side of the brake bolts-all were loosen with finger pressure. Went back up to Arron to see if they had the bolt, initially he said no but ten minutes later he went an asked the technician. Arron also said he could order one, but everyone he called said they couldnt get the part. Short story--ended going to a pull-a-part shop found what was needed an initiated the repair. I would suggest this is one reason folks that have never been to a shop, distrust the shop. As my wife drives the car she didnt know to return to Springfield Automotive. I would recommend having someone do a "quality control check" on repairs.

Im a little surprised about the negative reviews because I honestly havent had a bad experience. But then, people are always quick to criticise and slow to praise. True, theyre not the cheapest, but then I dont always have the luxury of being to shop around when something goes wrong. The location is convenient to my work, theyre willing to drop me off and pick me up, they always get the work done in time and the price I pay is never a penny more than the quote they give me. Ive taken my vehicle to them to get a second opinion and Ive found them to be honest. Theyve told me in the past that, yes, I could go ahead and replace the brake pads (as one other local mechanic told me to do) but that they still had some mileage left. They fixed an issue with my trunk for free. Ive never had the impression they were trying to scam me into extra work. Frankly, I would happily pay a little extra for that kind of service. And no, Im not an employee, but hopefully others will see this review for what it is - an honest opinion of someone who has used this mechanic in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

Like everyone, I cringe taking my car to mechanic because you never know what they are going to come up with and money they will charge. It is true, there are few auto shops out there who knows exactly what they are doing. In my experience, this is one place I found that knows what they are doing. To top it all off, they did not try to rip me off. By far, after inquiring this place was the most reasonable place I came across to take care of my car. They replace front wheel bearings on my vehicle. The shop was clean and customer friendly with TV, coffee. The customer service was excellent. The communication was great. I was apprised of every step in terms of problem and cost. The customer service agent I dealt was Arlis Tudor, who was extremely professional. All in all, this is one of the best automotive shop I have came across. I beileve I have found the shop for my vehicle maintenance. Thanks Springdale Automotive on Westport Road, Louisville, KY

Springdale Automotive on Westport, and Brownsboro road do great work!!! Westport road has been a true life saver. They saved a VOLVO V70 many times over. They have done at Westport, new tires, new belt, new brakes....The Brownsboro location did a great job with a new radiator. There prices are a huge savings from a dealership. They are super professional ,polite, and helpful. In one situation, they reviewed a used car that my husband wanted to buy, and found out it was a total lemon, they helped me from making a huge mistake. They are there to help the customer, not rip you off. They are ethical and there to cover all your car needs. This a blessing in the business of auto repair and long time care. They have a customer for life, and I wouldnt trust anyone else to work on my car. Ten stars for Springdale Automotive!!!!!
