It has taken me some time to come to the decision to write this review. After all, the slogan is, "Sears, a name you can trust!" May 2017 I found a Reuters News article, "Sears CEO Lampert blames companys woes on irresponsible media". Im not certain if the CEO thinks that media is the same thing as a social media or a ratings platform like Google, Yelp, & the BBB where customer service is no longer a priority. My story is about my interaction with Sears Auto Center. I purchased 4 brand new Michelin tires for my SUV. Im loyal to that brand because of the quality and Im from Detroit. A few weeks later, I went to the Toyota Dealer to have my car inspected and have warranty issued resolved. During the inspection, I discovered that my tires were never balanced and was in need of an alignment. So for 1,200 I thought I was getting my new tires balanced and aligned, but all I that I received was the new tires and a 4 hour wait. Sears, is not failing due to "irresponsible media", they are failing because they are not delivering what they promise. I hope someone from Sears Auto takes the time to pass this message along to CEO Edward Lampert. Its a 2 star rating because I did end up with authentic Michelin tires. Ive made an appointment to give them the opportunity to make this right, and I will update this review if they do.

The guy who picked up the call gave me the quote on oil change for Prius C. He said 70 dollars without even looking up or anything. I asked him is that just flat out average? or can you look it up again and tell me more precisely? He said it is Synthetic Valvoline(High quality oil but price is cheaper than other high priced ones). I put Valvoline for my other car(AUDI 2000 S4 6 Cylinder and 6.5 qtrs. oil) for $65 plus Tax at the local oil change shop. The Prius C has an engine like 1/3 of my AUDI S4. I put the full-synthetic Valvoline for my AUDI. Even the rip off idiotic Toyota dealer charges oil change for $65. This guys sounds like very poorly trained and really dont care about delivering a correct quote to a customer... $70 for Pricus C oil change... lol so I asked him twice are you really sure? He said, it is possibly cause the oil filter. I told him please double check, and he put me on hold for 22 minutes and 42 seconds and I dropped the call. I just wasted 30 minutes for these crooks. Thanks J

This place is only good for small time work - Oil change, flat tire fix etc... Dont get any major or expensive work done here - they dont stand behind their work, which is very annoying! I had my brake rotors replaced here for over $400 and it cause some other problems because of they way they put the assembly together (wheel bearings were not packed right). Basically the car began giving out a high pitched whine after it rolled out of their shop - and all they could do was say "it happens man!"...they wanted me to spend another $300 to fix their screw ups and purchase a new hub assembly. Go here at your own risk, chances are youll roll out of there with a fresh set of problems! Especially if you dont know anything about cars. If you have an import, best to find a smaller shop the specializes in that brand.

I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. The customer service is beyond poor and unprofessional. I took my car in and it took them 5 hours to get me an estimate. Then when I finally get an estimate they order the part which takes a day to get there. Then it turns out they ordered the wrong part. So by day 3 my car is just sitting there and theyre just messing it up even more. Then finally they order the "right" part with which takes another day (day 4) so finally the part comes and then they tell me that the part they ordered didnt fix the car but made it worst and that something completely different was wrong with my car. Dropped off car at 11:30 and was told it would be ready at 1:30. I am still waiting at 3:20. If fact it was just put on the lift when I arrived at 1:30. For an oil change and tire rotation it should not take over 4 hours. A major lack of management is apparent. No communication and no expectations. Other customers have appointments but they mean nothing so dont bother. Plan on dropping off, ignore what estimated completion time they give you, and come back before they close. Expect an oil change to take 8-12 hours. Oh and check their work. The last time they left the oil cap floating around the engine bay.

Under quoted the estimate getting me all happy about it and then jacked up the price after they had it up on the lift for really no good reason. Im not a mechanic but not stupid either. They ordered the wrong parts and and the most expensive as well. Found the same parts for half the price. They had me out of a vehicle all day for nothing. Customer service was ok. One employee worked with me but another was rude yelling and interrupting me when he wasnt controlling the conversation. Pepboys quoted me a lot cheaper for the same exact service with no BS.

I took my car here for a coolant flush because my A/C would not blow any cold air. The mechanic that worked on my car called me personally and told me that i didnt need a flush after all and my a/c problem was cause from another issue. He didnt charge me a dime. I respect the honesty, the customer service and politeness of the gentleman. Never found out what the a/c issue was because i no longer own that car. I recommend to anyone if you live in the Bethesda/Potmac/Rockville area definitely trust these guys with your vehicle. Good Quality Service.

Came in, dropped my car off, for a oil change and the so called "free" auto check where they stated they only do most of the things but not everything they stated online. Tuh. So he said theyll be done before the store closed(3 hours), and they will call. Never called, I literally watched the doors closed before I ran over and told them "where is my Effin car". Apparently the guy working on my car left for the day; but didnt bother to call me. His name starts with a S, and hes short. Wont be coming back even if it was my last resort.

Going to a dealer when you need parts for the repair of your vehicle is expensive, but in the long run is worth it. The parts that Sears Auto uses are just substitutes from a auto parts store and do not last at all. I spent over $1200 to replace struts on my SUV only to find out after having issues later on that they were only guaranteed for a year. The only thing I would consider purchasing is a Die Hard battery or Michelin tires from this auto center otherwise its dealer only.
