DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE to do any break work, which is a shame because they are supposed to be break specialists. I brought my mustang in when I felt a slight rubbing in the rear breaks. They replaced the back rotors and pads and said they were able to "salvage" the front rotors. They also stuck me with an outrageous bill(over $1k) for that and flushing the fluids. I wasnt happy however if it needed to be done, then it did and I moved on. When I drove it out of there, my breaks were making the loudest, most irritating squealing at every stop which has never been a problem. I brought the car back and they told me it was now the front rotors. Okay, I see red flags now however, my mentality is that I just want my breaks to sound normal again so I paid another hefty sum to now replace the front rotors. Even after putting factory pads on all breaks, and replacing all rotors, my cars breaks still make a horrible sound when stopping. That didnt happen until I brought it to Midas. Just a few months after replacing those front rotors at Midas, One morning on the way to work, my front breaks were rubbing something terrible and I now decide to break the Midas cycle and take my car to a local garage that I trust to evaluate the problem. Guess what? They had to again replace the front rotors and said there was no way Midas put on new ones. So through American Express, I disputed the newest charge for Midas work (lack there of) on my front rotors. After an investigation, AMEX ruled in my favor and refunded the money. Since then, the owner has been repeatedly calling, harassing and threatening me over the past month. Im considering bringing the police into the matter. Please take my advice, Dont take your car here.

Honest Courteous Service although prices are a bit high. I brought my 1999 Subaru to Midas Auto Service Experts for a Virginia state inspection yesterday. Ive been going to this place for years. The people have always been friendly, the waiting area in the office is comfortable, and the service has always been efficient. Id never had a problem with the inspection before. This time, though, I was told there was a tear in a rack and pinion boot. I would need to have the boots removed and replaced, and then the wheel realigned. Junior, the owner, kindly had Jorge deliver me to my house, a couple of miles away, and take the car back to the shop. Jorge was most pleasant and courteous. When Jorge returned for me and we went back to the station, I asked if I could see the discarded boots they had removed. No problem. Jorge rummaged around in the trash and gave me my 2 old boots. One of them was indeed torn. I could not have asked for better nor more honest service. The reason that this rating is 4 stars and not 5 is because the price was a bit high. I paid $16 for the state safety inspection, $324.98 for the rack and pinion replacement, and $79.99 for the computerized wheel alignment. There was an additional charge of $10 for "Shop Supply" and a small sales tax. Total bill was $436.47. It would have been $456.47 but I found a discount coupon worth $20 on the Midas web site. Out of curiosity, I went to my local Sunoco station and asked how much they would have charged. The breakdown was $16 for the inspection, $89.95 for the alignment, 2 Rack boots for $81.76, and labor at $178. Total: $365,71.

If Chris is working there, stay away. He pretends to be virtuous but it is a scam. He said they couldnt get a tie rod off in the 8 hours they had the car. Check out my photos of how they messed it up and the $20 tool I bought to do it myself. Tried to sell me control arms that I had professionally replaced 14k miles ago. LOL get outta here with that. Said that would fix my alignment. NO! They said removing the tie rods could break the entire steering system. Well, I did it myself and the car handles better than ever. No fluid leaking when I removed the rubber boot covering the inner tie rod. Tried to tell me my brakes were "metal on metal" when in really they just needed to be changed in the near future. What a scam artist. Shops always try to sell brakes because the price is high and they are easy to do. BEWARE! Also, Chris left a very creepy voicemail that was almost a minute long. Sounded like a guy ready to explode. Kept saying "I just wanna talk"

Dont bother making an appointment because they wont honor it! I made an appointment 1.5 hours prior to get my oil changed on a Saturday. I understand that Saturdays are busy days for them, but getting it done during the week is just not an option for me. I also understand that oil jobs dont make much money for the companies, but I have been a loyal Midas customer for a long time. This was the first time I used this Midas because I just moved to the area. Anyways, I made my appointment and walked in. I told the man at the counter that I called about getting my oil done and he said "Forget it, its not going to happen today". I was surprised because I had made my appointment 1.5 hours earlier. So I told him that I had just made the appointment 1.5 hours earlier and he says "It really doesnt matter, its not going to happen." Really?? You cant figure out your work load 1.5 hours in advance? Needless to say this will be my last time to use this Midas.

Came here to have my front brake pads changed. They called me back to show me all the work that needed to be done, like the rear brake fluid leak that wasnt leaking before they took apart the drum brakes that I didnt ask to have fixed. And of course the rotors needed to be changed because they couldnt mill them for some reason, not that they even needed milling. All that, par for the course with mechanics. What really annoyed me was that the guy tried to charge me for 6 hours of labor (one hour for each part that needed replacing at $95 an hour) and then said he could have it done before they closed, in 2 hours... Thanks, but Ill just make an appointment with my real mechanic who knows that changing brake pads is a 10 min job, not an hour long one. So, if you need something more than a simple repair, go elsewhere.

I am a frequent customer at Midas and every scheduled appointment is on time, great customer service. I never have to worry about long wait times and bad help. When ever I have a question or if its something I dont fully understand the young men help me out. Mr. Johnson provides great customer service when my schedule doesnt me the times they have available he also provides me with information that may be helpful for a long car life. I have never had a bad experience and I would highly recommend them to family and friends. I drive from Waldorf to Arlington VA so that should show how great this place is. Thank You Guys you have a Customer for Life!

EDITED: Also had my alternator fixed there less than a year ago. Guess what? My alternators dead again. Jerks. Took my car in to repair a flat. They did it, but also insisted that my brakes were "rusty" and needed to be replaced. When I said no, they insisted on TAKING PHOTOS of the brakes and sending them to me -- which showed that they were dirty, but little more. Whatever. A few weeks later, I took my car to a different mechanic for a different problem, and asked them to look at the brakes just to be sure. THEY said the brakes were perfectly fine, no rust. DO NOT TRUST THEM.
