After experiencing car trouble - popping sound from around clutch pedal, followed by inability to put car into gear - I had my car towed to this AAMCO from a general shop that said it was a transmission issue they couldnt deal with. I got a call from AAMCO the next day with a "diagnoses", stating the car needed a full transmission rebuild at a cost of $2740. When I inquired further into the cause of the problem, I was told they wouldnt know until they opened up the transmission. This led me to wonder how they could know the full cost without even knowing exactly what the problem was; I felt I was being charged for the worst-case scenario upfront. Unsettling, to say the least. I decided to have my car towed to a reputable shop, which broke down all the possible costs and generally seemed much more knowledgable and honest. It turned out the transmission was fine, and the car just needed some work on the clutch. Final cost was much less than the $2740 quoted by AAMCO. Do your research, save your money, and avoid AAMCO at all costs.

If youre looking for an honest mechanic shop that operates with the highest level of integrity, this is the place to go. After experiencing mechanical problems with my 2003 BMW 335, I took it to have a diagnostic service performed by a BMW dealership. I was told my transmission needed to be replace as well as a few other things and that it would cost around $6000. In search of a second opinion, I was referred by a friend to AAMCO of Falls Church. Tommy (the owner) had his technician look it over and gave me the diagnostic results. Not only did my car NOT need a new transmission, the remedy needed to fix the problem was a simple and noninvasive repair which was very affordable. This type of integrity is unparalleled in the auto repair industry. After reading the estimate given to me by the BMW dealership, Tommy could have easily quoted me a slightly lesser amount and still made a killing. Instead, he chose the path of HONESTY. I wont take my car anywhere else from here on. Thanks again Tommy!!

Tommy and his mechanics are intelligent, fast, and fair. I had a mysterious grinding noise for 2 months with my car and, after taking it to 4 mechanics, some twice, no one was able to identify the problem correctly, let alone fix it. I was told that my transmission would need to be replaced at a cost of $4000 by two other mechanics. After leaving it at AAMCO for an estimate, they adjusted a small issue with my transmission and, without me even asking, found the real cause of the noise - a worn engine mount. NO ONE ELSE even considered this problem but AAMCO found it and fixed it. I spent a fraction of the cost I expected to pay to rebuild/replace my transmission and felt extremely relieved that I didnt invest in such a serious repair when the problem was so simple and easy to fix. Take your car to AAMCO for ALL car issues, not just transmission problems. They have the talent and Tommy runs a solid business. They gained a repeat customer in me.

Looking for a great place to get your transmission fixed? Look nowhere other than this AAMCO location, where Tommy and his men are standing by to provide you with exceptional service and unbeatable deals. For example, I took my 2010 Toyota Camry here with a blown head gasket and a shoddy transmission. Not only did the mechanics (supervised by Tommy) fix the issue; they also recommended additional service and were willing to order the parts themselves and they were even willing to do all of the labor required that same week! They found several other issues with the car at that time such as a faulty serpentine belt, transmission fluid leaks, low tire pressure, and more, and they offered to fix it all themselves for an unbeatable price! They also offer snacks and refreshments such as Coke and soda for unbeatable prices.Tommy is an upstanding gentlemen with a positive work ethic and customer service skills. Thanks AAMCO!

Tommy and his mechanics did a great job for us on our Jetta transmission. The transmission was shot and the car barely made it there without being towed. They rebuilt the transmission and asked me to bring it back for a check up. Two weeks later, I did return because although the transmission was working, there were some erratic shift problems. They looked at everything, pulled the transmission again and checked that and more, and even replaced the CPU. Eventually they found the problem in a small wire with a tiny break in the insulation which would short out when it touched something metal. They stuck with the diagnostic work until they found this problem and gave me a big break for the additional work. Tommy is great individual with integrity and respect. I would recommend his shop to anyone.

We were on a trip from North Carolina to D.C., and our car broke down as soon as we got into D.C. We had it towed to Arlington Auto Care, found out our left axle broke in half. After they were done with the repairs, we picked the car up & it was still making a clicking noise. When we brought it back to Arlington Auto Care, the mechanics first response was that we needed to take the transmission out and have it rebuilt, without any assurance that the transmission was the REAL problem. We took our car to Falls Church Aamco and they took such good care of us. Come to find out it wasnt our transmission, the previous mechanics put the wrong size washer on our car! The guys at Aamco were so amazing, they made us feel safe in our car again. Fairly priced & quality work! Thank you!!

One of the best experiences ever! Tommy and his mechanic Leo restored my faith in humanity. We were being ripped off at HONDA and we found AAMCO on the computer and saw nothing but stellar reviews. Our car was taken late in the day, correctly diagnosed and instead of paying $7000 plus at Honda for a new transmission and alternator, I was charged a little over $300 by Tommy and the car is running great. I can honestly say that I will be a customer for life and I would not hesitate to recommend Tommy and his mechanic Leo to anyone in need. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. A trustworthy, honest and fair auto repair shop is a rare find. Pride and Integrity are not words usually used to describe auto repairs shops. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
