Brought my newly acquired car here for the MD safety inspection in order to file for registration/tags. Initial inspection went quite smoothly, with a callback in about an hour (as promised). My car did not pass inspection on the first go around for minor issues (tint, tires, wiperblades) and was explained on what needed to be done. A week goes by and I was able to get the car up to MD safety specs and ready for the 2nd inspection. Since the follow-up inspection is free, I went back to C&D, even though it was slightly out of my way. I gave the shop a call and was told that the MD Safety Inspector was out the entire week for vacation, and he would be back the following Monday. I went ahead and asked to schedule an appointment for that Monday morning to get this done, but was told that was unnecessary and to just come by at 8AM. I get to the shop at 8AM on Monday with the inspector absent. The staff thought he was running late so encouraged me to stick around. At 9AM, the inspector calls the shop and has decided to take the day off. I requested that C&D send me to another inspector on their dollar since they were preventing me from passing my car, but they did not agree to this. Not having much choice in the matter, as I need to have this inspection done ASAP prior to my temp tags expiring, I drive 30 minutes the following day during my lunch break in order to catch the inspector for a 5 minute re-inspection. So now due to C&S delaying my car passing MD safety inspection, my registration and tags will be coming to me after the date my temp tags have expired. I will be reporting the shop to the ASED for negligence.

I took my car in because of the reviews but was very disappointed in the service I received. I went to have my car checked after the throttle and engine light came on while driving and losing some power. The lights were no longer on but codes p2110 and 2173 did appear. After performing a smoke test I was told there were no leaks but that I needed a new throttle body and PCV valve and it would cost over $600 to repair. I was never told how they arrived at their finding or what test was done to come to that conclusion. I was never given an estimate of charges and even after asking it was like pulling teeth to get it. Because of this I did not feel comfortable having the work done. 9/14/2016 Update: I just read the response from my review and it is as dismissive as my three time request for estimated charges. There was no misunderstanding. I was mishandled as a customer. The call I received from Sam was better. He listened to my concerns and conceded that an estimate of charges should have been freely given. He was apologetic and offered to make it right but I already had the work done at a shop I used in the past but out of my way to get to. C&D charges: $75 smoke test, $292 throttle body, $233 programming sublet, $50 labor, $15 PCV valve, $30 labor. Approx. $700 before tax. My charges from actual work: $315 throttle body, $11 gasket, $125 removal/ replacement of throttle body, $33 oil change (it was time), engine code p2110 N/C, $3.50 material disposal. No programming sublet fee or charge for additional smoke test . Approx. $500 before taxes. My car is running smoothly.

Although Farmers did their part in getting me into the repair shop and providing a timely estimate, the repair facility was and is very low in quality and customer service. After being told on July 14th that it would be 11 business days, more repairs were declared. The facility C & D auto body kept my car until August 14th and when I received my vehicle, the middle console was broken, the right front turn signal did not function (original damage should have indicated to repair this), and my AC no longer functioned properly. I insisted that the facility pay for a rental car, as now I had to leave my vehicle again. Finally I was able to retrieve my vehicle on August 22nd. Also, I should include the problems I found with customer service. Initially, C &D gave me a questionaire about how I wanted to be updated and how often. I indicated by phone and email every two days. This never occurred. I had to call in several times to get information that I was promised. I realize they are busy, but no promise of update should have been promised if it was not going to be honored. Terrible business sense!. Tanya was very pleasant to deal with and the only bright spot in this experience. Many of the associates were polite and courteous, but did not keep their word or follow- through as one should.

As a young, female college student, I so often get taken advantage of at auto service centers. When I was towed by AAA to C&D I was instantly welcomed and treated not like a girl, or like a college student, but simply a customer. They sympathized with my situation and went to work diagnosing it immediately (my engine overheated and I was leaking coolant, but didnt know where from). After hearing that it was the water pump (an expensive fix) I was given a quote. He explained what happened under my hood and what needed to be done. Instinctively, I told him I was not sure I was ready to pay that money and I would need to leave my car on their lot overnight to figure it out. Expecting some resentment, I was instead met with understanding and patience. When I went home, I called every auto service in within a 10 mile radius, explained what was wrong with my car and asked for a quote. None beat the price I was given at C&D (and that was even before they knocked down the price for me). When I called them to tell them to go through with the service, they fixed it in a timely manner and I picked it up the next day. The staff is friendly, the work is great and the price is fair. I would recommend C&D over and over again.

C & D Auto is the best anywhere!! It has been my privilege to assist with automotive repairs for my Military Son. He now resides at College Park and I am a resident of Washington State. My first experience with C & D was in April 2016, when my Son was on Orders, out of state. His fiance was home alone and the Lexus wouldnt start, although the battery had recently been replaced. With a couple quick suggestions from Sam at C & D Auto, the car started right up. This saved mechanical repair. But had it needed a starter, they certainly had a better price than other shops. More recently C & D has provided awesome service of oil change, air filter, Lexus 90K full service, and inspections all at no extra cost. They even filled the window washer fluid without charge. C & D has the most reasonable prices and top quality work that I have ever known. Andrew is outstanding, and the whole crew are fantastic. They are certified technicians, still down to earth, and nicest people in the business. They are 100% trustworthy, and have life long fans in us. There is no reason to go anywhere else for any automotive services. C & D is truly the best. Thank You!!
