Review for 1/29/2013 One headlight goes out over the weekend. As I am leaving work, I realized that I dont have any headlights. It is dark, so I have to go to the nearest. Thank God for PepBoys! I walk in nearly in tears but the friendliness from the gentleman was golden. they had the headlights that I needed and the price was nice. They only charged $15 for installation. Good deal! ( or so I thought) Then, the night turns for the worst. As I am sitting in the waiting area, I see my car. The mechanic pops the hood and literally starts tugging on parts under the hood. All I needed were new headlights, so why is he tugging? I start to get worried because I can tell tell that he isnt sure about how to put in the headlights. Another mechanic is called over, and now there are two people pulling and tugging on my car. The other young lady and i watched in horror as they pull and tug on the grill of my car. This goes on for 30 minutes. Then, he comes to the waiting room and says "I get off in five minutes, so you will have to come back tomorrow". I am livid because he wants me to drive 20 miles without headlights, and all he can say is "we close at nine". Basically, they stopped working on my car, so they can leave. Needless to say, I had to leave PepBoys and drive over 20miles with my high beams. The kicker is two other people warned me about Pepboys, but the friendliness in the beginning made me think that everthing would be ok. I am sure this place is great together parts,but the service department needs work. There is no way they will get my business if I can help it.

The estimate they gave me was so High! $3560.75 to be exact for a "Check Engine" light issue I had and brought my car in for service. I originally went to Auto Zone for a free diagnostic and they problem codes were P2279 Air Intake System Leak Detected , P1151 Long Term FuelSystem B#1 S#1. I am no mechanic so I then went to PepBoys. I was told that my Turbo Charger on my 2004 VW Beetle needed to be totally replaced or rebuilt. They said this is why my car was loosing power. I called VW to see if a car with only 55k miles would need the turbo charger replaced or if there were any recalls. There were not and the Turbo Charger shouldnt have any problems so early on. I went and got a SECOND opinion. Went to AAMCO where they Fixed the Air Intake Valve, the Intake VAC System and Viola! the problem was fixed for $352.16 which included the testing of the initial problem. This location tried to SCAM me. Get me in for a check engine light service and then HIKE up the charges! Dont trust them! I am soooo disappointment that these folks are in my community. I wonder how many other people got cheated from these people!

If you are getting your car serviced, DO NOT... I REPEAT... DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS LOCATION!!!! I was waiting over 9-hours and checked in at 8:15am! Love giving my service to my young brothers and sisters in leadership roles, but apparently the staff at this location lacks adequate supervision and initiative. Anytime you ask how long is the wait or how much longer will it be before your vehicle is ready, the reply is always 2-1/2 to 3-hours! Initially the manager said they had the parts to service my vehicle, but later he shared with me he had to go and pick up a part from another center. After watching staff, which appeared to be talking to their buddies or friends, I went to the service area to ask my my technician how much longer, he said the manager had to go to WALDORF to get another part for my car!!!! Hes still not back with the part and in another 10-minutes it will make 10-hours that Ive been waiting. All other errands I had to do today were cancelled! THIS MAKES NO DAMN SENSE!!!!!

My husband and I broke down just outside of D.C., and this was the only auto repair shop opened on a Sunday. No one was available to assist us on that day, which was understandable. However, the following day, it was evident that none of the workers in the shop knew what they were doing. The service was rude and unprofessional. No one had the courtesy to call and inform us of the diagnosis and progress, until I finally called later on during the day. Initially they gave one diagnosis, followed by a subsequent one that had absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand. They convinced me that if I paid for a fuel system cleaning, this may ameliorate the problem. $133 later, it made no difference. When they finally admitted that they had no clue what was causing the problem, I had to have the car towed to another auto repair shop.

Do not bring your vehicle here!!! Deceptive business practices. Brought car in to have brake pads checked. Originally told just needed brake pads. After about 4 hours (original time estimate was 2 hours) I was told car would be ready for pick up in "15 minutes" so I got an Uber to drop me back off. While en route to Pep Boys I receive a call from the service tech to say now the car will need rotors replaced on all 4 wheels and that they would maybe be able to complete the service by closing time. I declined the brake/rotor replacement and took the car to AAA service center in brandywine. AAA service tech said car did not need new pads or rotors yet! Pep Boys was trying to do unnecessary work assuming I would just pay for it without questioning them.

Went for an oil change and tire rotation and radiator flush, left the car and I received an call 2 hours later telling me that my radiator is damaged and I needed a new one and a water pump, when I get back to the garage they have damaged my hood and I asked how did this happen and I was told that my car was that way when I brought it there, also my air conditioner compressor is now disconnected this is the poorest service I have ever experienced to vandullize a vehicle that has been put in your care to repair. We Dont Want That Kind of Practice In Our Community!!!!

Horrible experience. I called same day to make a reservation for an oil change for 5:30 pm. I arrive at 5:45 thanks to traffic but was assured it would be no more than an hour oil change. I wait...and wait...and wait..and while waiting, noticed a lot of employees leaving. So I thought well must be a slow day being that there were only 4or 5 people in the waiting room. BOY was I wrong. They did not service my vehicle until EIGHT OCLOCK. My entire evening was screwed. I will NEVER be going back to this location again.

Dan buen servicio lo único malo que las personas que trabajan en la caja nolo atienden luego y deberían contratar más personas hispana saludo para la señorita hispana que trabaja con ustedes muy amable gracias
