I purchased a Certified pre-own vehicle from a reputable Dealship on April 16,2015. I have a Meineke Credit card that offers an annual tire rotation for free. Me; not knowing if the previous owner ever had the tires rotated; I took my car to this Meineke location. I called to make an appointment and the Rep at the time J.J. ask me to make sure to bring my credit card which is always in my wallet anyway. Ok; I get there not even thinking anything will be in need of repair; being my car is Certified and me only having it for less then 3 months. Well, after the rep.J.J. entered my credit card information he left and when out back to the mechanic area. Ok, I didnt think much of it until the mechanic shorty came inside to tell J. J. and myself; that I need $320 of brake and rotor work. They both said I need this down like right now; URGENTLY! Why; because the brakes are almost metal to metal and the rotor only 3mm thick; basically both are almost poop. I didnt choose to get any work done because I just bought this Certified Pre-Own car which makes sure all is up to par before selling it to a buyer. Instead; I nervously drive back to the Dealership of purchase; about 15 miles away; to ask them to confirmed Meinekes opinion on the brakes and rotors. The dealership said; and provided me proof on both; that showed otherwise. The Dealership showed and gave me copies off all the work that was done on my car; prior to my purchase; to make it Certified. Ok now here is the outcome. Meineke tech. said my brake pads URGENTLY need replacing; Dealerships papers show brakes being BRAND NEW. Ok now for the Rotors. Meineke tech. said my rotors current measure 3mm. The Dealerships mechanic took me out to the lift area and measure the rotors in my face and here it comes.... the rotor currently is not 3mm as Meineke said but they measure at 9mm...COME ON NOW! something is afoot and one can only guess whos foot base on theses outrageous findings. I can imagine just how many others would have paid Meineke, paid Meineke; and will pay Meineke for unnecessary work as I was being encouraged to do. Perhaps the Rep,J.J.; knowing I have a Meineke card; felt hey why not try. I just dont know but needless to say I was heated hotter than July. Even if I gave the benefit of the doubt; 3mm and 9mm is a big big difference and OUTRAGEOUS!. Needing new brakes when the current ones are already new again is also OUTRAGEOUS! I will see what I can do with the paperwork from both parties. Something tells me show them to the Media. I will not say what I feel is the case here but there is nothing right about trying to take and taking advantage of an unknowing consumer whether it been in the past, in the present or in the future. Thanks to Social Media wrong doers can be exposed publicly if nothing more. I wish all who took the time to read my review good luck in finding a good, trustworthy, honest auto shop.

I have tried this store out twice now, and it has been a disaster both times. I have a Fiat 500 and I realize it is a more obscure car, but I called to schedule the first oil change and they assured me it would not be a problem. Aside from loosing my scheduled appointment and having the work take an hour longer than it was suppose to, it did not seem like a too much of a hassle. Until I got on the highway. They broke some of the snap joints that attach my drip tray onto the car, but neglected to tell me, so it almost ripped off my car on the highway on my way home. Once I called to tell them the problem, they offered to fix it (for free), but I had to drive out of my way again, within their hours to have it fixed (but they could not do it that day). A hassle, as I commute to DC for work, but I figured Id give them another try. We all have bad days. I was wrong. I went in again, for an oil change. Only this time, they stated the mechanic on did not have the right socket to replace my oil filter only AFTER I waited an hour and they rest of oil change was completed. The kicker - I already paid for the oil change and the oil filter, and could not be reimbursed for it as the manager had already done the days close out. Again, they would be happy to do this any other time, just not the night I left work early to make it there in time. So I tell them Ill return Saturday (2 days later). No Problem! Except that nobody (still) has a socket to change out my oil filter. They claim they can order one and have it ready by the following Tuesday, I just have to come back AGAIN, leaving work early, to do so. Despite the fact that I have PREVIOUSLY had my oil changed here and let them know about it ahead of time. Needless to say, its now over a week later and I still dont have my $12 oil filter changed yet and will have to find time before the holidays to ONCE AGAIN head over. Overall, they are very disorganized, and although personable, will say/do most anything to get you in the door, then leave you with a half-assed job that will most likely require you to return to them to have it resolved.

I brought my car to this location 11/2016. Brian and Michael have been wonderful and of tremendous help! I had my car serviced by both Goodyear and the dealership for an emissions issue just 4 months prior to relocating to Maryland. To my dismay (and disgust), the very same issue arose upon my move. Brian was extremely fair and went above and upon in ensuring that we finally fixed the problem. Both he and Michael explained to me in laymans terms what needed to be done, how it would be done and why. It is not uncommon, as a woman, to have your car serviced and to encounter a technician that tries to take advantage of you. This was not the case here. I was knowledgeable of the work that both Goodyear and the dealership performed on my vehicle prior to coming to Meineke. After looking at my car and prior to my disclosure, Brian and Michael recognized the new valves and sensors on my car. They were also able to recognize that work that should have been done when I had my car serviced previously was not. I confirmed this during two scathing calls with management at the dealership. Many of the older reviews read poorly but this location is now under new management under Brian and much of the staff is new. I recommend servicing your car here!

Went for a brake job and felt like they were salesman on commission. The rates are high, maybe not for Columbia, but theyre high if you take time to look around. Also, the mechanic never spoke to me directly, only a service manager and counter guy. In all the years I have taken cars to get serviced, the mechanic ALWAYS spoke directly to me. When I refused to do expensive service, they seemed annoyed. End result, a simple brake job and fluid cost as much as a full brake job with rotors. A few months later the car started making noise. I took it back to my old mechanic since I moved back and he could tell that the job wasnt done the way it should have been done for that cost. He could tell parts werent thoroughly cleaned, and that it was a half job. He even questioned if I should have been able to leave with the car that day based on the condition of the brakes after less then 8000 miles. Fortunately, he re-did the job and more for less than I paid here.
