I do not recommend using this ZIPS Lanham, MD location, because they have lost or damaged my clothing on several occasions over the past few years. They damaged five of my brand new white dress shirts over the past several months. They have also lost at least three of my shirts over the past 2 years. On two occasions, I have received clothes that did not belong to me. With regards to my damaged white dress shirts, they damaged five of my shirts in the same location-- a tear approx. 1.5 inches above left arm cuff. I discussed damage with store manager who informed me that the damaged was not caused by their store, which totally puzzles me because the shirts were brand new and not damaged before they were cleaned. I continued to use ZIPS services at the same location for about 4 more months until today when I noticed that another one of my white dress shirts was damaged by this location. This time the damage is on the same left arm sleeve as the other damaged shirts, but the damage is actually on the cuff this time. The damage is a series of tears that make up about a quarter inch diameter circle with a couple of small tears close by the main damage. I would have stopped going to this store with the first lost clothing, but the nearest competitor, Dry Clean Depot in Bowie, Md is too far away to be convenient; However, I think its time to re-evaluate and consider other options because I am discontinuing my business with ZIPS Lanham, Md location.

I dont have much need for a dry-cleaner. I may need to take a couple dresses every 3 weeks or so. I have used the Zips in Lanham to meet that need for the last year or so with no issues. This past weekend (8/23/13) was the exception. I dropped off two semi-expensive dresses (one CK, one 9West) on Thursday and came to retrieve on Saturday. I did not look at my items before returning home. When I did, I observed that the CK looked and smelled (of my fragrance) the same way it did when I dropped off. It did not appear to have been cleaned at all. The 9West had two LARGE safety pins through the straps attaching it to the hanger. Ive cleaned this dress a couple times here before and that has never happened. There are now visible holes in the straps which are dainty. But even worse is the fact that the dress, which I could have probably worn again before it needed to be cleaned, is now dirty. There are black smudges on the white areas of the dress. So Im out my $4, gas money and time and still need to take my items somewhere I can trust to get them truly clean. Ill never bring anything back to Zips, Lanham again. Im grateful that I didnt have to learn this lesson with one of my more expensive dresses that have been brought here. I advise all to not use them or, if you do, not bring anything that cant be easily replaced.

My first time I went for alterations/dry cleaning on my suit pants the alterations werent done. I had to wait another 2 business days when it came time for pick up(typical turnaround time is 3 business days for minor alterations). I thought maybe they just forgot or just busy, its an honest mistake things happen. Recently, I had some alterations/dry cleaning done on my suit pants again it wasnt completed. I made sure the cashier knew exactly how many alterations I needed at drop-off, he said OK no problem. When I went to pick up my suit pants, 1 suit pants was done (only needed 1 alteration), 2nd suit pants had 3 alterations only 1 was done. I told the cashier and she said the tailor is here if you would like to speak with him. So I politely went over and explained I had some alterations that were not done. The tailor said I only saw one alteration that was needed. Thankfully he fixed the alteration on the spot. My concern is why the cashier didnt mark the alteration needed. When speaking with the tailor he mentioned that he covers another Zips so he works both location part time. My recommendation is to get a better system on alteration services and hire more tailors. Because if Id have to wait for alterations again I would have been pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im not too sure which one is worst, ZIPS Lanham or ZIPS Laurel. Once I got there, of course the customer service representative went through each garment which included a pleated dress. I paid and left. When I went to go pick it up, I was told that the dress was not dry cleaned because it was pleated. Im like WTH? Since when did that start? Even when the person was going through my items initially at drop off, it was never mentioned that ZIPS does not dry clean pleated items. No apology, nothing. I dont even want to get into ZIPS Laurel where you have to iron your clothes AFTER you pick them up. They lose things easily, promise & fail as far as when items will be ready. All in all, terrible company. Will never patronize this company again. They are cheap for a reason.

This Lanham cleaners sucks big time. Theyve damaged at least 12 of my shirts. I will say, they will pay you for the damage or repair the shirt. However, after allowing them to fix a few shirts, it just kept happening. The worst thing is that they make you wait more than their alloted 10 days to pay you. And, the excuse is always the same. "Our GM hasnt been here to review your claim." So I called the GM, Tina Sams, several times and left messages. Not once have I received a phone call back from her. Exremely poor management . There are some very nice, polite people on the crew, but above them are not very customer service oriented and they dont seem to care. Not worth the cost savings!

Very dissatisfied with my experience. I had a few new dress shirts (only one wear a piece) that I decided to take to Zips to be dry-cleaned. Upon picking up my shirts, one of which was a white and blue stripe shirt, was crisp on one side and the other side had bled and was a completely different color. Another shirt was missing 3 buttons. The starch on my shirts were also very uneven especially on and around the collar. I received very little sympathy if any or an apology. I was offered a redo of the shirt which was messed up. I have yet to see how it will look. Needless to say I will not be returning to this establishment.

I took a black jean jacket in to be cleaned because I didnt want to fade it. I had worn the jacket about 3 times. When I pick it up it was faded. Of course when I asked what “they had done to my jacket, the clerk response was "nothing, the production manager put it on this white hanger. When the manager do that means not to do anything to the item.” That was after they faded my jacket. When I took it in it still had creases on the sleeves which were not there when I picked it up.

They lost a pair of new jeans and tried to replace them with some 2nd hand store jeans. I complied with the terms to file a claim and they still refused to pay for the lost jeans. They said they looked at the video when I brought them in and the 2nd hand jeans were mine. I had my receipt for my brand new Calvin Klein Jeans and they did nothing. Would not return the $10 cash I paid for alterations. Is $2 for cleaning worth it?
