This week my 2004 Ford Explorers ABS light and 4x4 light came on and I heard a whiny grinding noise which seemed to be coming from from the transfer case. I stopped in at Guy Motors Mobil 1 Shop in Mechanicsville to check grease in the transfer case and differentials and have my tires rotated, hoping for a miracle or an easy fix. Service was fabulous, the shop immaculate and inviting, the guys courteous , efficient and very knowledgeable. The news wasnt good, but as luck would have it, the manager from the adjoining shop, Guy Motors Repair Shop serendipitously stopped in. He conferred with the mechanics and approached me and asked if he could test drive the car to help diagnose the problem. The news was bad, and the grinding noise and clunking was getting worse by the minute. It was suggested that I drop the car off next door and was promised a diagnosis within the hour. I live in the neighborhood and was even given a ride home. Diagnosis, I felt could be difficult; a whiny bearing noise, a now clunking, grinding four wheel drive issue and visions of cost prohibitive repairs needed. I was very concerned. True to their word, they called me in a timely manner, as promised. The problem turned out to be worn out bearings in the front hub, and sensors causing the four wheel drive to try to engage with an attendant problem with the trucks computer. The estimate for repairs were very reasonable, and they were able to rush repairs so that I was able to have it that evening. My Explorers computer reprogrammed, the new bearings and hub installed and back on the road in a matter of hours. One always worries when taking a car to a repair shop, that unnecessary repairs will be added or that costs will be astronomical. You need not worry here. These days, parts and shop time can add up quickly. Its fabulous to know, that if you have a problem, that it can be repaired locally by trained mechanics, using the latest diagnostic equipment, and you will be treated fairly and honestly. You cant go wrong here. My highest recommendation, simply, the BEST! Thanks "Guys"

Thank you Skip, thank you Paul, and thank you to the technician who did my alignment. After getting some work done elsewhere, my truck started pulling to the left. I knew the guys at Guy Motors were all adult workers, no teenagers, and thats a big deal for me. Everybody that works in the shop is 40 years old or more and has years and years of automotive experience. Im tired of cheap tire shops that have 20-year- old kids working on my car that have not been around the block. Rant over. Guy Motors is the place to go to get work done on your car. Theyre honest, they all know their stuff, and thats why I come here. My experience today did not go any differently. I had them do an alignment. It should be mentioned that I am the pickiest person when it comes to Allignment in all of St. Marys County. I know Im a little bit obsessive. My last alignment guy and I would spend an average of three hours adjusting my car. I can remember being at his shop making adjustments going on a test drive and coming back. I paid for it, dont get me wrong but it had to be perfect. Guy Motors did an alignment for me a couple of days ago, and I felt I wanted another adjustment. I came back in and they very professionally made the adjustment and my car is now perfect. Not only are they accommodating, but they have the skill to get work done. I just recently moved from Virginia to Maryland and was told I had to have a Maryland state inspection prior to registering my car. Fortunately, I called Guy Motors and they were able to get me in right away and had my car inspection complete quickly and for a very reasonable price. I was told before I went that Maryland State Inspections can be up to $150.00 so I was thrilled to find out it was only $89.00. I appreciate the quick service and Im happy to have found my new car place in Maryland. I will be sending my husband to them next week for his car inspection and for any future car repairs. We are very pleased with the service we received this week. We dropped our vehicle off on Monday morning, received the diagnosis and the estimate that afternoon.
