These guys saved our necks, our sanity and our vacation! We started our vacation early Friday and had a 5 or so hour drive ahead of us so we left in the morning to beat traffic. We were 2 1/2 hours from home and 2 /1/2 hours from our vacation spot when our check engine light came on and our van started misfiring. We drove it as long as we could until it became clear we had to stop before we caused more damage and before we were unable to drive it. Being right in the middle of our drive, and in an area wed never been before, we had no idea what to do and were a bit panicked. Wed thought about driving back home and taking our other car back (talk about a vacation killer!). My wife was in tears, my kids were upset. We looked up auto shops in the area and found Spikes Auto Care & Tire and saw the good reviews and had to take a chance. We got there around 2:30 and Danny, quickly understanding the gravity of our situation, was there to help us out. He diagnosed our issue, explained it to us so we could understand it and got the part we needed and replaced it. The guys test drove it to make sure our issues were fixed, and they got us back on the road within an hour or so. It was a terrible start to our vacation but thankfully Spikes gave us a much needed second chance to start it off right. Really nice guys, and unbelievable service.

It is hard to find a GOOD Auto Repair Shop, but you do not need to look any further. Mike of Spikes Auto is fantastic, honest, quick, and his pricing is very fair. I have had him do the simple oil change, brake repair, tune-up, front end repair and more. I have 5 cars so I visit him often. Need Brakes, tune-up, oil change, have AC issues, a light on your dash etc... Mike of Spikes Auto Care is a great guy and goes out of his way to help you and fix all of your auto repairs. I finally found a reputable mechanic! I was starting to grow weary of the industry after years of car maintenance, but found light at the end of the tunnel. Theres a reason they have 5 stars. I needed to get a check-up before vacation and called this morning when they opened at 8. They were done by 10. They actually explained the importance of the services they recommended during the inspection rather than trying to sell it. I never thought I would be able to put trust and mechanic in the same sentence. Spikes proved me wrong.

I recently moved to Mt Airy and needed to find a new shop for my car. I took it to Spikes to fix a couple leaky tires. They quickly diagnosed the problem (nail + bad bead seals). They also recommended an alignment since my tires we wearing unevenly. They took me in the shop and showed me the leaky beads and unevenly worn tires, which I always appreciate. Finished 4 bead repairs, a tire plug, and an alignment in about 1.5 hour at a very reasonable price. I will be taking my and my fiances car to Spikes for any future repairs!

Spike seems to be able to fix things other shops cant. He always seems to accommodate when we need him. Honest and fair. I had a "Check Engine" light that kept coming on for two years. Took for four different shops and all of them declared it fixed. But the light would come back on ten days later. The car was running fine, but I couldnt get it though emissions. Spike researched it online and found the problem that other mechanics could not.

I have never had a better experience with a repair shop. Jeff and Danny quickly determined the issue and replaced my engine in no time. There were other fixes and they didnt charge additional labor since so much work was required on replacing the engine. Their pricing was extremely fair. They will do the job right and treat you well. I will never use another repair shop again.

They were really honest about everything that was going on with my truck and didnt try to rip me out of my money. They also didnt over exaggerate the problems with my truck like other repair shops Ive been to. They were super speedy with the repair too. Im never taking my truck anywhere else!

Spikes is the best auto shop in the area by far. Before I started going there I would waste my money at the Dealerships and Jiffy Lube and would have to take it back in for more work or corrective work. At Spikes it gets done fast and with no mistakes! will always take all my vehicles there!!!

Bad O2 sensor tore up the threads removing it from the exhaust. They told me to bring the vehicle in, put it on a lift, then tapped/cleaned out the threads in about 30 minutes time. I installed a new O2 sensor after that no problem. Outstanding to know this kind of service still exists!
