I was a regular customer of Dryclean Direct, LLC for nearly 4 years. I spent no less than $30 a visit several times a year. I went into the Silver Spring/Georgia Ave location on Sun., September 16, 2007 at appx. 3pm. The girl at the counter asked me if she could help and then spent the next several minutes engrossed in the transaction that the cashier next to her was working on. I asked her twice if she really wanted to help me. She pulled out a pair of my wife’s pants. We have three dogs, so there was dog hair on the pants. However, were not talking an obscene amount of hair on the pants. She held them between her thumb and forefinger and told me that I would have to clean the dog hair off of the pants before she would take them in for cleaning. “We don’t clean clothes with animal hair.” I told her that was ridiculous, that I had three dogs and had been coming there for years, then asked to see the manager. The manager then came out. He did say that they would clean my clothes. But not before making a point of telling me that Dryclean Direct had customers who go over the clothes with a microscope and can’t be satisfied if all of the animal hair isn’t taken off. (Imagine those customers expecting their clothes to be clean. How silly and self-indulgent). I told the manager that wasn’t what his counter “help” had told me and that I didnt appreciate the counter scene.(How many other customers actually stood at the counter picking pet hair off of their clothes until an 18 year old dry cleaners cashier with a negligible mastery of English is satisfied that Dryclean Direct can handle the job) I also asked the manager whether his pet hair policy and the poor customer service I had received was worth having a long-time customer never come to his shop again. He let me know that was my choice which I assumed to mean that this was a reasonable trade-off to him. I used to live right behind Dryclean Direct but moved a few years ago. However, I continued to utilize Dryclean Direct, even though it was slightly out of my way, has a really tiny parking lot (good luck finding parking), and is in one of the most traffic congested areas in Silver Spring.. The Dryclean Direct Manager gave me a choice and I can now avoid that area of Georgia Avenue forever. So let’s see Dryclean Direct has established a reputation for poor customer service in other Yahoo reviews. Dryclean Directs best Yahoo review states “You get what you pay for.” Wow, theres a glowing recommendation. Dryclean Directs animal hair policy implies that they are so confident that they cannot provide adequate dry cleaning services to remove animal hair from clothes that a special policy is required and customers are asked to remove the animal hair themselves prior to using Dryclean Direct. Pet owners, Dryclean Direct has established a policy and culture that makes clear their priorities and the value of your patronage as pet owners and customers - youre too demanding and you can be subjected to removing animal hair from garments in a crowded store. Please let all of your family or friends know to not get too close to the family dog on the next visit, Dryclean Direct may or may not be able to clean their clothes. I choose not to spend my dry cleaning dollars at Dryclean Direct.

I am very displeased with the service I received. Recently, I sent them a beautiful blue cocktail dress to be cleaned. I was sure to point out the special instructions on the dresss label and was assured that this was something that they could clean --no problem. When I picked up the dress it was no longer blue --but gray. Only the blue stitching remained. My dress was totally ruined. I asked for restitution for my dress (valued at $200) but was offered only $30. What an insult! To make matters worse, I still have not received that money nor the credit they offered in addition to the $30 cash. The owner/manager refuses to return my calls, has not issued an apology and never seems to be available when I come to the location to speak with him to resolve the matter. Horrible customer service!

This place is terrible. We have used them on and off for 5 years.... because its so cheap. You get what you pay for, and if you want your nice clothes to stay nice - then dont take them here to get cleaned. The last straw: I had a brand new dress shirt - worn only 1 time - come back with blood on it. Not my blood. Totally sketchy. They refused to pay to replace the shirt, so I dropped it off at the police station. I figure if its not my blood, then maybe the cops can find out whos blood it splattered around that back of that shop. Consider yourself warned. Oh, and ALL your shirts will get broken buttons. WTF? How do they break so many buttons???

Theyre very nice and willing to work with you, but unfortunately that is not enough to make up for poor standards. I have been there twice now. In both cases I simply needed new dress pants ironed and creased. The first pairs looked as if they just hung up on a hanger and marked done, making me have to come back another day. TODAY. I picked up 3 more pairs giving them the benefit of the doubt. Of the 3, 2 pairs were pressed to remove the crease, and are instead pressed and creased along the SIDE of my leg. Im sure theyd fix this, but I shouldnt need to return twice every time I want something done.

When you go to pick up your pants and they hold up two different pairs and say, "Which one of these are yours?" You know its time to go somewhere else. When I asked for a free dry cleaned shirt ($1) since "my pants werent ready," the manager said in so many words, since thats not our policy, well have to terminate your account. Great business practice. Not to mention the countless broken buttons on dress shirts & hard to understand clerks. Choose one of the other 25 dry cleaners with 1 mile of your place. NOT HERE!!!

The price is nice for the area. Is it the best dry cleanimg, not close. Do they do a decent job, sure they do. I go there 2 to 3 times a month and have yet to have a problem. They are professional, which means friendly enough for me.

I only go here because its on my way to work and they are inexpensive and have great hours. I wouldnt take good clothes there. They are very good at breaking buttons on shirts.

I use this cleaner for my everyday casual wear clothing. I am satisfied with the quality for the price I pay. I go there at least twice a year for the past six years.
