I went to the store and the staff was not able to find any recent record under my phone number. I asked them politely what I can do to get my clothes back. The girl who was helping me went to the manager Edna, and Edna came out from the back room and as soon as she came out, she stared at me as if I am some sort of felon who was just there to lie and take other peoples clothes. She asked me to describe my clothes, so I roughly described my items. Because there were so many, I was trying my very best to recall. Edna did not allow me to finish my sentence and she told me that the only way to get my clothes back is to get a phone number my clothes were under and/or trying to relocate my ticket. I told her I know the ticket is thrown away, and I can not recall using any other number for the dry cleaning. She kept repeating that their staff would never let anyone leave the shop without getting their name or phone number. And she wouldnt let me finish my sentence. I was cut off every attempt to explain and describe my situation. She didnt display any willingness to assist me to find my clothes. She starts to intensively arguing with me. At a point she also asked me how much I have been drinking, which was very hurtful and I was still not allowed to finish my sentence. I thought I would not get my clothes back so I asked her what they would do to my clothes if I am not able to claim them? Take them and donate them. I admit it was my fault using strong words, but they got very irritated and solely focused on how they were called theft. I did not meant to call them theft, if so, I apologize (matter of the fact, I did apologize at the end of the conversation for my attitude). After the other manager, Jason, kindly step up to help me to figure out what might possible happen to the check out procedure, we finally found out the the staff put my clothes under my boyfriends phone number, who were also picking up his laundry at the time I dropped off my clothes. Jason was very helpful and polite. Even that we found out the staff voluntarily assumed that my clothes were under my boyfriends name, I did not receive any form of apology. The Zips shop (especially Edna) in College Park have problem admitting a flaw in their costumer service procedure. If the flaw is not recognized and dealt with, chances are it might happen again to someone else as well. this morning at around 10:57 am, the College Park store owner, Lea, called my cell phone and accused me for insulting her managers. She called to demand an apology from me. I didnt even get a chance to talk and she hung off after she finished what she had to say. It was apparent she was acting emotionally and not professionally at all. I called back a couple minutes later and I found out that she didnt not really watched the whole video tap (according to Lea, the accident was taped on the store video). I think she didnt call be after she fully understand the situation because she was very surprised when I told her that Edna accused me for going into the store drunk. I felt very hurt and disappointed. And the store owner continued to interrupt the peace in my life.

I suspect some of the bad reviews done here is because people only start to give reviews when they have a bad experience. So a couple of things: 1. This is a very busy place. So they probably have thousands of customers, and plenty of students as well. The few bad reviews are the few. More probably, the rest are just too lazy to give a review since theyre long time customers, satisfied with the work they do, taking them for granted. But because its a busy place, you might on rare occasions get some accidents. Those rare occasions are what is recorded here. 2. In my one month experience, because of a busy schedule, I always did the "in by 9 out by 5" deal due to a busy schedule, and the clothes always came out nice. No rips, no shoddy work. Even if I hand it in after 9, it would be ready the following day by 5. 3. Cheap! Even if you ask for extra stuff like deodorize or starch, and no matter what clothing you use, even heavy coats, same price. Only setback is they dont take credit card. I hope that changes soon, but there is an atm machine just in case you forgot to bring your cash. 4. On inclement weather, they were going to close early. I came one minute late after they locked the door. But when they saw that I was picking up clothes I handed in that morning at 9, they opened the door for me to give me my clothes. I cant blame them if they didnt open the door, but they were kind enough to reopen the doors and get me my clothes. I knew at that point I had to write a good review for them to balance out all the harsh reviews made here. And this reflects also on the fact that Heather replies to the bad reviews here and cares about them. I dont know what Heather looks like, but after reading the bad reviews and seeing she cares, I gave them a chance, and after this exceptional experience, I had to give my 5 star review. In the end I would recommend this place to anyone, and they are worth the 5 stars. Keep up the good work and professionalism!

First used them @ 2000. Took army green gabardine slacks and a grey virgin wool Armani 2-piece suit with a WATER? spot on my pant thigh from my removing a food stain before bringing it to them. {The tap water created a 2 inch ring. The counter guy says that I should have left it. When I got it back, the area lightened and spread to 4" area, not just a ring, and definitely visible. Also, they pressed ACROSS the pleats! Who would do that? I complained and a guy appeared who said he was the owner. When I showed the problems to him said that his clients were more than happy with his quality and if I didnt like it dont come back. I guess bc his clients were university professors? How many professors wear Armani suits and gabardine slacks that would bring their stuff to him? I brought him my laundry bc it was then convenient] Ive gone back 3 more times over the years, the last 4 years ago. Always the same. Spot stains and wicked pleat press. Even received a stain on a khaki dress jacket where there was none! The clincher: I take the same DryCleans mistakes directly to my favorite cleaner who is literally only pennies more, but across town in DC and voila, every problem solved- same day! EVERY time. The bene of reviews, you see how your opinion aligns with others. From these guys reviews [bottom HEAVY], I can not understand how they stay in business. Not resolving problems... okay. But creating problems and not fixing a PRESS mistake is unacceptable. Even as a teen with a cheap iron I could iron a straight pleat and knew to use a pillow case section to avoid shining my clothes. Obviously all of his clients are NOT happy.
