I literally walked out of here. Ive been here a couple of times because its close by. But their service is horrible! I walked in and they looked straight at me, never acknowledged a customer when they walk in. I was sitting for 2 min and one of the ladies finished with one of her customers. She walks past me and just sits in front of the desk. Like I wasnt even there, never even asked what I was there for ?! She clearly saw me when I walked in, has seen me before and knows I want my hair blow dried. After 40 MINUTES sitting there looking stupid, another customer walks in and she immediately asked what she needed and started helping her. She walks past me and says "one of the other ladies can help you when theyre done". What a female dog to be honest. I walked out disgusted with their service. At my job, I am #1 at Customer Service, these women know nothing of it. Its common decency to greet a customer when you see them walk in, not make them sit for 40min without even asking. Im going back to my original hair lady in DC. They are called GOLDEN SCISSORS, Dominican hair styling and they KNOW customer service excellence at that. AND they have more decent prices, unlike this salon that is so expensive for no reason. Maybe men get treated better because they have different hair stylists in a different section. Good for you all! But the women, unbelievable. GO TO GOLDEN SCISSORS in Mt Pleasant DC IF YOU WANT YOUR HAIR DONE JUST AS GOOD, with AMAZING SERVICE !!!

First and foremost, Marys stylist was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! The main stylist had me waiting in the chair for forty minutes and wouldnt even greet me. Then when I approached she said that she thought I was waiting on another stylist. Sje then began my hair in which I told her exactly what I wanted. My dryer stopped and she never checked to see if my hair was dry. When I finally made it to her seat, I was told that my hair was no good and that I had to now go back under the dryer. I sat back in the chat again only to notice that the stylist was performing the total opposite than what I asked for! I asked for a rollerwrapnwith curls, only to witness her straightening my hair all the way through. When asked why she wasnt curling it, she said because she needed to flat iron it. I told her I wasnt getting a flat iron because it was not anticipated and then she told me that hair type needed it. Needless to say she did not offer any discount even though I totally did not get my intended style. My advice is for any women of color to AVOID THIS SALON by all costs.

This salon is amazing! I have been coming to get my hair done every two weeks, religiously for about a month and a half. Ive seen three different stylists and each time I left more than satisfied with my hair. They are fairly quick. Customer service is exceptional. Stylists are professional at all times and most of all they care about your hair. I definitely recommend Marys, especially if you are on a budget and want great service.

Mary made me feel at home..and they didnt speak spanish behind my back like at Lisas Hair salon on Georgia ave..my fam is from dominican republic, but I only speak alil bit and speaking sly little remarks is plain rude..Mary has class

All stylists are good , but Mary, the owner is an artist and a perfectionist. At Marys they will tell you if something is not right for your hair even if it means turning down money. They are committed to taking care of your hair.

Recommended by a friends. I loved getting my hair done and the way it way looks!!! Another stylist started but Mary finished. And Mary said the stylist who was started is even better with natural hair. Definitely going back!!
