Ive waited until now to write this review because of how upset I am with this Meineke branchs p*ss poor service and their corruption. My Story: In June, I took my car in because my check engine light was on due to a P1457 error (after consulting several AutoZones). I was told my module fuel vent was leaking and needed to be replaced. I paid nearly $500 for them to fix this issue. 3 weeks later, my light comes back on, but being a full time grad student and full time employed, I wasnt able to bring my car in for several weeks. I told Meineke what happened and they said that they needed to replace the SAME part and I would have to pay about $300. This is where I got furious. They were trying to con me. Just because Im a woman, doesnt mean Im stupid. I shared my issue with Meineke headquarters, who did absolutely nothing. I took my car to a friend, who works on cars as a side job. He offered to look at my car, and discovered that it was very clear my evaporative system was rusted and that they only fixed half the problem. The fuel vent was changed, however the evap solenoid (which was clearly rotting) was not changed. So, Meineke was trying to make extra money off of me because they thought I wouldnt figure out they only did half of the job. I brought my car back to Meineke telling them I wanted a refund for them NOT fixing the problem. The lanky man with light eyes, who Im going to assume is the manager, had an attitude and had the audacity to say, "Oh yes, you. I saw your email to corporate [smirk on face]. Why didnt you come in earlier if this was a problem. Why are you just coming back now if you said the light came on after 3 weeks." I told him of my busy schedule and his face dropped. Yes, are you surprised that Im a busy woman and have better things to do than spend my life at your car shop all day? He told me to bring my car in so they could "show me what they did" and I told him, "Why would I EVER have any of you touch my car again?" I stormed out. My friend mentioned before, upon seeing how enraged and shaken I was, offered to change the evap solenoid at no cost. Once that was done, I never saw my engine light come on again. Its December and its still not on. Therefore, Meineke, a company that is supposed to be "professional" failed to do what they said, and WHAT I ASKED THEM, to do. All in all, Ive been to Meinekes before and never received such terrible service. I highly suggest not going to this branch. I went here because of its proximity to the Silver Spring metro. But DONT do it! Theres a few other shops a couple blocks down, bring your car there and walk to the metro, its further, but at least you wont get conned. I didnt want to listen to the other reviews from women who said this branch tries to con you, but theyre right. I REPEAT, DO NOT GO HERE.

I dont suggest people to go there. They did ok changing oil, but you do not wan to trust them into anything complicated. In my recent experience, they tried to rip me off when my tire had a problem. Their mechanic said my front tires, which are Michelins were worn out and needed to be changed as soon as possible. I believed his words at first until the front desk guy gave me a ridiculous rate for two off-brands tires. He might think I was a woman who did not seem to know much about cars. I called my dad who always got michelins for his suv and found out the guy was lying. So I told them I did not need a tire change and asked them to add more air in the tires. After that, I went to redial and was told that my tires were all in great condition and the reason why the warning sign of a low pressure tire showed up was cause of the temperature change. Thats not the end of the story. When the mechanic tested my tire pressures, he found the precious dummy added way too much air to each of my tire, which could be hazardous! Anyway, I learned my lesson and will never go back to that crappy and unhonest shop.

PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT IF YOUR ISSUE IS MORE THAN AN OIL CHANGE OR TIRE CHANGE AS THEY WILL TAMPER WITH BECAUSE THE TECHS DONT KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING. I TOOK MY CAR THERE TO SEE WHY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ACTIVATED - THEY TOLD ME THE BASIC SCAN WASNT ENOUGH AND I HAVE TO PAY $100 TO RUN AN ADVANCED DIAGNOSTIC, WHICH WAS FINE WITH. THEIR FINDING WAS AN ELECTRICAL CABLE WAS DISCONNECT AND THEY RECONNECT IT AND ALL WAS FINE.HOWEVER, THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AS SOON AS I DROVE SO I TOOK THEIR THE NEXT DAY -- THIS TIME IT WAS THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR AND AN EXTRA $36 FOR IT TO BE REPLACED I SAID FINE FIXED. I PICKED THE CAR UP ONCE THEY WERE FINISHED DROVE IF FOR 20 MINS AND HERE COMES THE LIGHT AGAIN. AS A RESULT, I TOOK IT BACK THE NEXT DAY FIRST THING IN MORNING - MY CAR WAS THERE ALL DAY AND THEY COULDNT FIXED. SO I PICKED IT UP THAT EVENING AND TOOK TO THE DEALER . WHAT THE DEALER FOUND AND WHAT THEY DIAGNOSE WERE TOTALLY DIFFERENT. THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS THE TAMPERED WITH MY CAR AND HAD TO PAY AND EXTRA $445 TO WHAT THEY DESTROY. SO DO NOT GO THERE.

I have a 1999 Plymouth grand voyager. The car has 180xxx miles and was experiencing a check engine light one two different occasions. The first time it was due to a faulty egr valve and hose. The manager Mr. Abel was very kind and routinely updated me on every step on of my repair. The repair was quality, the price was reasonable and my time and business was genuinely appreciated. On my second occasion, my vehicle was experiencing an engine miss. Although I was an hour late for my appointment, the staff was very friendly and they still accepted me. Service was fast and efficient, again. The correct part was quickly installed, and needless to say my ride became very smooth. The price for parts was similar to aftermarket retail store prices and the labor costs were reasonable. I would recommend this service shop to anyone. They do not over sale you or try to convince you to receive unnecessary services. Awesome job guys!!!!
