This week we booked two trips aboard the Connemara Bay, the striper tour with the lobstering, and the ground fishing tour for haddock and cod. Both trips were stellar! I took my 60 something parents, wife, and my 8 and 4 year old, and everyone had a great time. Kevin and Kellin worked their buts off in difficult fishing to put us on the bait, and the fish. Unlike other boats in Gloucester, they pack chum bait to catch the mackeral needed for the stripers. The macks were hard to find, but they got us on them, AND, dropped us in on the bass in the first two spots we hit, catching several fish, and 2 keepers. We finished the trip checking lobster traps, and Kevin made it very educational for the boys, each of us getting a lobster to take home for dinner that, and boy were they tasty! On the ground fishing trip, we anchored up and started catching immediately. Most boats skip the step of anchoring because it takes time and effort, but this crucial step ensured we never got off the fish. While pulling the fish in, Kellin cleaned them and used the racks as chum for the shark rod he put out for me, and while catching the haddock, red fish, cusk, polluck and cod, I CAUGHT A 12 FT BLUE SHARK, as well. What an experience, and my boys got to see a big "Blue Dog" up close. These guys go the extra mile to make a trip successful! They catch, when many others around are not! If you have kids....take em fishin aboard CB Charters! Our boys fell in love with the crew because they made sure to include the kids in everything they did, including feeding the gulls the fish skins on the way in! Arthur Keicher — Amazing and well worth it!! Thank you Kevin and Kellen for an excellent time. Cody, Joe, Amber, and myself had a fantastic experience that will last a lifetime. I did a lot of research on what felt like an endless variety of available charters, and after much consideration decided on CB Fishing Charters. Im a big skeptic and wasnt really sure of my decision until we dropped the first lines in the water to catch bait. My kids faces all lit up and the smiles never ended. There was a storm coming to the area, and I was concerned that it was going to be a bad day to catch fish. Every other boat I was able to see wasnt catching anything, and things were slow for us too. Any charter can help you set lines, but Kevin and his son Kellen are extremely knowledgeable in those waters. Even though all the other boats werent catching anything, they managed to get fish on our lines. They knew every little hidden area, and went out of their way to make sure we were catching fish. Ive been on other charters and CB is by far the best charter I have ever experienced. You wont regret this charter in any way. The hospitality was amazing in every way. Then we were able to take our fish and lobster to an excellent restaurant that Kevin works with to cook our catch. You cant get seafood any fresher than this, or a fishing experience any better.

This was our first Tuna fishing trip ever. As one can expect we had no idea who to charter and had plenty of choices out of Gloucester. We chose the crew of the Connemara Bay based on the reviews that we read on the internet and WOW did we make the right choice. We found that tuna fishing allows for a lot of down time. Kevin and Kellen not only kept us busy with ground fish, which by the way can be just as exciting as anything, they took the time to explain the fundamentals of tuna fishing and were also thankful that the two had a great passion for fishing and the history of fishing in the town of gloucester. Our first trip did not result in a tuna, however we booked another trip with them three days later which did result in the catch of a lifetime. There is a lot of energy and excitement on this boat. In the end my wife and I and a couple friends not only had the time of our lives fishing with these guys, we also gained some lifetime friends. These guys are the real deal, I have been out with these guys three times so far over the past 2 years. Once for a ground fishing experience, once for a lobster bake and most recently for a Striped Bass charter. I have nothing but excellent things to say about this charter. The captain (Kevin) was extremely knowledgeable and explains in detail the answers to all of your questions. His son (Kellen) is his first mate and makes sure you have the best experience possible. He was quick with baiting and rebaiting lines and re rigged our tangles in a flash. As far as the lobster bake is concerned; the food was excellent and Kevin did a wonderful job telling us about the history of Gloucester MA. I highly recommend this experience to anyone. I am originally from Buffalo NY and just recently moved here. Although I consider myself an experienced fisherman I knew nothing about ocean fishing.... these guys took the time to explain rigs, baits and tackle. These guys will put you on the fish and make the trip a fantastic experience. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!

One of the best experiences I have had with my Family. Loved it and would recommend it to anyone. Especially like his knowledge and passion of the NorthShore. Done this t two years in a row. Each time we went, we always loved it and we were glad we went with them in the first place. During these two years, we have caught big stripped bass, nice haddock, tasty red fish, mackerel for bait, and some of the most tenderest lobsters you will eat in your life. One thing that gives Connemara Bay Fishing Charters an edge over other fishing chatters is that Captain OMaley and his first mate, Cal will go at your pace when you are fishing so there is no need to feel nervous about your fishing experience. They also help you with anything you dont feel comfortable handling. If I am going to rate Connemara Bay Fishing Charters on my own personal belief, I would rate them eleven out of ten. They are that great about their work. I would definitely recommend Connemara Bay Fishing Charters to any crowd for all types of fishing.

Every summer my husband and I try to do something new and fun with our four sons who are all in college. This year we decided to try a fishing trip. After looking at all of our options, we decided to go on the Connemara Bay Fishing Charters out of Gloucester. Well...we made the best choice!! Keven and Kellen (father and son) were so awesome! They couldnt have been nicer and they really explained everything and showed all of us how to do everything while making it fun. We had a beautiful sunny day and when the day was over Kevin suggested we bring the lobsters and fish we caught (after Kellen cleaned and filet it) to Lobsta Land Restaurant (also in Gloucester) where they cooked everything for us for only $10 per person. They prepared the striped bass three different ways and steamed our lobsters. Everything was delicious! Lucky us to have found such a great way to spend a family day and make a wonderful memory!
